I saw that Better Buzz Coffee was a hot & new biz, so I decided to check it out! It's hard to miss with their big, clear sign. There's quite a bit of parking available, but can possibly be challenging during peak times. I visited one late morning and was greeted with a warm smile right away. The place is bright and inviting, with bee and honeycomb theme throughout. There's plenty of seating inside and out, but it's not the type of café I would hunker down to work for a few hours. I ordered the following: Chili Crunch Breakfast Wrap Honey latte with oat milk Cinnamon Cream Cold Brew The wrap comes with chili crisp aioli, hash brown, ham, egg, and muenster cheese wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. I requested no bacon and they were able to accommodate. It was okay; I would have liked more chili. Yes, I got two coffees because I wanted to get buzzed. Kidding! I don't live anywhere near Better Buzz Coffee, so I wanted to make the most of the visit and try two drinks. The latte and and cold brew were smooth and delicious. On our first visit, we ordered the Best Drink Ever (classic Americano + creamy vanilla) and a Cinnamon Cold Brew with the season cold foam added. My drink, the Best Drink Ever, was expresso-ly delicious. It gave me just enough energy to power through all my errands but didn't interfere with my sleep later on. The name, Best Drink Ever, was much deserved. It's quite tasty! Better Buzz Coffee is an adorably yellow coffee chain that is San Diego, CA based with locations all around CA, AZ, and NV. There was much positive community buzz for Better Buzz leading up to their first Arizona opening in Tempe. A friend of mine lives nearby and ranted/raved about them so I decided to check them out recently for breakfast. The decor/interior design is honeycomb everything, everywhere - super cute! I decided to do walk-in/carry out rather than drive thru since I had some time. Seems like they are still working out the organizational kinks because it took awhile to get my drink, waaay after my sandwich. The Better Breakfast is a solid sandwich, but silly me, I forgot to ask for no cheese (havarti). Unknown if that is an option. The price is a pain point... California esque coffee prices from a California brand in AZ. ::sigh:: Another bummer - they don't offer plain cold drip coffee. Just cold brew and nitro cold brew options. For someone like myself who dislikes hot coffee and doesn't need a caffeine boost from cold brew/nitro, the only real option is an espresso or a dairy-free latte, which gets pricey when you want just some cold coffee over ice! Price alone makes me feel very "meh" about Better Buzz... I'm probably better off saving my money and getting my caffeine buzz at home. read more

Today is National Coffee Day, and I am expresso-ly excited for it. This foodie holiday commemorates the date when the United States received its first shipment of coffee from Brazil on September 29, 1723. Beans to that! Two drinks were ordered on our first visit to this mellow yellow coffee shop: Best Drink Ever (classic Americano with creamy vanilla) and a Cinnamon Cold Brew with the seasonal cold foam added. Both drinks were good, and I quite enjoyed the seasonal cold foam. Of the two drinks, the Best Drink Ever was the star. It really lived up to its name. While I'm not on this side of town often, I can see myself stopping by when the opportunity arises. read more

Any busy bee will be delighted that Better Buzz opened a brand new location in Tempe perfect to get a breakfast bit or caffeine fix for the day. The place was buzzing with great energy and even better coffee, tea And food! Their "Best Drink Ever" lives up to its name. Also, loved the Orange Matcha and the Better Breakfast Sandwich were tasty. There's two drive-thru lanes outside if you're on the go or you can order and chilling inside. Bonus points for the eco-friendly vibe! Definitely check them out! We went this morning for a quick caffeine and breakfast run. We went through the drive thru. It was a long line, but it went fast. The guy that took our order was nice as well as the girl at the drive thru window. The coffee is excellent! Some of the best coffee I've had since moving to Tempe. The latte was not too sweet which I like. They have alternative milk there if you like oat milk or almond milk. The wrap was great, it came out piping hot. There was a lot out indoor and outdoor seating from what I could see. I definitely would like to go back and sit on their patio. read more

Congratulations to Better Buzz on their grand opening day in Tempe!! I don't normally show up to a new place on day one, but I've been secretly waiting for them to open closer to home, so I don't have to drive all the way to North Phoenix! Also, what better way to celebrate my birthday with a delicious breakfast? I ordered their iced pumpkin spice latte and had my pistachio croissant warmed up. The level of sweetness of both were just right. Be sure to check out their bakery shelf - so many yummy treats!!! For about an hour in the dining area, I saw every single customer greeted in unison by the team (think of when you showed up at a Japanese restaurant and the servers and chefs all yelled out "Irasshaimase!!"), it's so cool!! I was so tempted to get their merch, but I'm glad that I showed up early enough as they were giving out the hat, hot drink cup, and stickers to thank their customers. I ordered the horchata latte and the coffee was so bitter! I wasn't a fan at all, it didn't really have an horchata flavor either. The staff was friendly and it was recommended- I had 3 sips and stopped drinking it. I also got the chili crisp burrito - it was okay, the spiciness of the chili crisp was lacking...17.00 for an iced coffee I threw out and a burrito that lacked spice. 4/19/25: Short version - This particular Saturday we wanted to try someplace new for a quick bite to eat. I'm not a coffee drinker, but my sister is -- and we were more interested in a quick sandwich anyway. Better Buzz satisfied the craving. It was quick, and food was decent. Long version - There's a nice patio on the west side of the building (not sure it's going to be shaded enough for the coming summer, though; I did not notice misters), pretty decent parking, and the store was clean. The tiling on the floor in front of the counter was a bit disorienting. :-) I liked they had compostable straws. What I didn't like was that although their signage indicated they participate in recycling, it turned out to be a lie. The gentleman was very nice about explaining how, because they are a California-based company, they had to put up California signage. What this means is that although you may feel good about recycling the items, in truth you are simply adding to the landfill. Not cool. I mean, if they can offer compostable straws, why can't they offer recycling and/or other compostable containers? Another bummer was that although we ordered for dine in, we were both given our sammies in plastic containers. Of course both drinks came in plastic cups, but that was to be expected. I was just hoping to limit our plastic consumption. Ah well, now we know. I am not a coffee connoisseur so I cannot say Better Buzz is better than say, Starbucks, Dutch Bros, or any of the other numerous coffee spots. I can say the food was decent (if not mediocre), the staff was friendly, and the tea buzz (matcha) was flavorful, w/o having the matcha be overpowering. All in all, I can say we tried it, but there was nothing overwhelming about it to warrant a return trip. read more

Wow!!! Stopped by today and they had recently launched some new refreshers and they sounded incredible. The cashier was super friendly and offered lots of great suggestions! Grabbed one of the new Banana Matchas and Caprese sandwich and it was delicious!! Sat down to do some work in the cafe and the place was clean and had great wifi. We had a phenomenal time at Better Buzz in Tempe! You could truly feel the love in every bite and every sip. Everything we ordered was amazing, and we're already looking forward to going back. I stopped in for a chai tea latte and saw that BB has horchata- BET! So I just told them I wanted the horchata instead of the milk. But I think the barista must have originally heard me ask for oat milk and said he would put both in there. The drink was so good, I went back a few weeks later, and Im not a huge coffee shop gal so that says alot. They also serve some light bites and have other little goodies and merch inside. read more

I love Better Buzz and when I saw this location was open I had to stop and check it out. I opted for the drive thru today since I was in a bit of a hurry. Service was quick and friendly. I love their cold brew so I chose their cinnamon cold foam. So tasty! I also picked up a yogurt bowl which was delicious, it had the perfect fruit, granola ratio with the Greek yogurt. Better Buzz has my favorite lavender tea latte, hands down! The flavor is always consistent. My only gripe is the current morning drive-thru setup. They have people taking orders manually, but there seems to be a lack of 'first-come, first-served' coordination between the lanes. It's a bit discouraging to be first in line and have people who arrive after you and behind you get served first in the adjacent lane. This happened twice in recent weeks with different employees. Still worth it for the tea, but the flow definitely needs work. read more

Okay so I have to talk about this because it honestly made my whole week. I stopped by Better Buzz after lunch with some friends one day to grab something for myself and to bring my super picky mom a mid day coffee (risky, I know lol). She is so particular about her coffee to the point where after one sip she'll usually say it's too sweet or too much water or whatever. Honestly I didn't expect her to like it. After telling the girl on headset what my mom usually gets at other places I grabbed her a zucchini walnut loaf and a large Best Drink Ever but no water and extra ice (shoutout to the super nice barista who helped me customize it ), and she LOVEDDD it. Like actually finished the whole drink and then asked me IF I COULD GET HER ANOTHER ONE TOMORROW I thought she was joking. She wasn't. I've now been going back every single day this week because she's obsessed I've also been inside a couple of times and it's always super clean and I've never had any issues with the bathroom which is huge for me. What really stood out to me though was how sweet the staff was. I was kind of confused and unsure what to get at first, but the girl at the speaker was SO nice and patient. She walked me through a few options and even shared her favorite way to order the Best Drink Ever (which is now our go to lol). Everyone there just had the best energy like they actually enjoy being there and talking to customers. It made my whole interaction feel relaxed and easy, which you don't always get at busy coffee spots. Anyway. If you're a fellow student looking for a new go to spot, or if you're just trying to impress a high maintenance coffee drinker in your life (lol), Better Buzz is the place. Terrible service is unbelievable how bad the employees are and also the management Curtis choosing to not deal with his employees and basically give me the impression " I don't give a f" I went in for a month 5 days a week because is very close to my home! But every single day I had to ask for a stopper some days they will give me the coffee hot without that paper protection.. and I get it!!! It happens sometimes to forget I do understand that. But when becoming a daily thing is a choice. I am always going in around 3:20-30 pm. You guys are very busy and I say cos I've seen it! Curtis horrible manager. RUDE EMPLOYEE!!!!!! June 7th around 1:30pm a male employee took my order but I couldn't hear what he was saying very well so I nicely asked what he said 2x and thanked him. As I was driving away I could hear him still talking through the mic to one of his coworkers saying, "Jesus Christ did you hear that lady?" And then said something along the lines of me not being able to hear him. If you're going to trash talk about a customer to your coworkers, at least mute your mic first! So freaking rude.
