Sent out requests for quotes to glass repair shops in the Oakland/Alameda area at 9pm and got the bids in within a couple hours. For a Tesla 3 quarter window, I was quoted $800 by Tesla, $700 by Safelite, and local shops were quoting $580-$600. The difference was Tesla/Safelite only had appointments for 11 days out and all the local shops were able to see me almost immediately this morning. Almost pulled the trigger on another shop that was close by but Fast Mobile Glass came in though and undercut everyone's quote at $375 flat. They said I could come in immediately. I got in at 9am the next day (today), said it would take 30 minutes and ended up finishing in 15. They vacuumed all the glass, got everything replaced, and I was done faster than I could have ever expected it. The owner and the technicans were nice and gave me tips on trying to prevent another break in from happening again and tips about parking near trees for glass replacement on my car that they've seen happened to other people with their windshields. Got in and out in 20 minutes and was a pleasant experience overall. Thank you!

This is where Oscar came to the rescue because he actually had that particular window in stock and provided a fair price that was comparable to competitors in which you would need to drop your car off and wait. Not only did we not have to go drop the car off, we got to wait comfortably at home and Oscar arrived within 45 minutes from the time that we called. He completed the work in a little under 2 hours and my husband was back on the road. A huge thank you to Oscar and it was a great experience! Glass Emporium owner Mehrdad "Tony" Hakimian will begin serving a 42-month federal prison sentence on September 3 for charges related to insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, wire fraud, obstruction of justice and more, according to a statement from the U.S. District Attorney's office in Oakland, Calif. The 42-month prison sentence, which is accompanied by a $150,000 fine, was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge D. Lowell Jensen during a hearing last Friday, July 2. "The evidence further established that, following a search of the corporate office on December 19, 2006, that was authorized by a federal judge, Hakimian obstructed justice by concealing and destroying documents for the purpose of impeding an ongoing FBI investigation into him and his corporation." With regard to the visa fraud and harboring illegal alien charges, the U.S. District Attorney's office says that Hakimian "admitted that he knowingly submitted several specialty work visa applications that contained false material statements to federal agencies on behalf of foreign employees [and] ... that he concealed two undocumented employees from immigration authorities." Hakimian was not ordered to pay restitution, because he previously reached a settlement with State Farm, and has made payments to approximately 77 insurance companies impacted by the fraud, according to the U.S. District Attorney's office. If the owner's name is Tony who drives a S550 Mercedes, then don't do business with Glass Pro because he's a first class asshole! (If the guy lied to us and has nothing to do with Glass Pro, then disregard this review.) I'd seen Glass Pro many times when I drove past, so I thought I'd give them a try. So my wife and I drove out of our way to go there to place a sizeable plate glass and mirror order. As my wife was pulling up to the only space in front of the building to park, this S550 speeds past us to try and sleeze us out of the spot by backing into it. Not intimidated, my wife pulled in front-first, creating a parking standoff. So "Tony" gets out of his car and tells us we should move and park illegally in the yellow zone behind us down the street. (He offered his name because my wife incorrectly guessed his name was "Buddy.") My wife politely explained to Tony that what he did was rude, impolite and disrespectful, and that she was not about to move because Tony's a tough talking guy who drives an S550. So Tony explained back that he wasn't about to move, either, despite his rather ridiculous bargaining position. Finally, my wife had the good sense to ask him if he owned Glass Pro, and he said he did. We believed him because he didn't impress us with having the intelligence to think fast enough to tell us that just so we'd give up the space. But that's what we did-- when he told us he was the owner, we informed him that he just lost a sizeable sale and proceeded to drive away. Obviously, Tony has issues with his masculinity that he feels he can only cure with a big, expensive car, rudeness and tough talk. He doesn't deserve our business, and he doesn't deserve yours! There are plenty of glass companies in town. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where they'll treat you respectfully and genuinely appreciate your business. read more

I was a little nervous reading some of the seemingly poor reviews on yelp, but I must say my experience with Glass Pro was awesome. Like many others, I was a recent victim of auto burglary (I didn't even have anything visible or especially valuable in my car. A total of 5 dollars in change was taken from my center console; why Oakland crackheads, why?). After contacting Safelite which was recommended to me by my insurance company, they said they couldn't get it done until Monday (called them Thursday night when they were having 'computer problems', and so called back again early Friday). Yea, I am not about to leave my car exposed over the weekend so I had to go look elsewhere. I work over on Mandela Parkway so I pass by this place on my way to work everyday and decided to give them a shot. Called in around 8:30am, and spoke with Laurie (maybe Lori? Sorry if the spelling is wrong!) , who was very nice and exceptionally friendly. She worked with me and my insurance directly to get my claim covered (thankfully still had comprehensive!) and scheduled time for me to come in at 10:00am. Woo! The rest of the staff there was also amazingly friendly and courteous, even though they looked pretty busy. The actual service took about an hour and half, which was great because it allowed me to go over and get some delicious chicken and waffles at Brown Sugar Kitchen. The window repair was great, matched up pretty well with the rest of my windows; though my car was so dirty every time I looked over at my car I thought someone had broken the window again. It's now been about two weeks and everthing is running smoothly. Will certainly come back here if (or more likely when; damn you crackheads!!!!) gets broken into. read more

I would have given this shop a negative rating if it is available! I called yesterday to ask for a quote for a passenger side window replacement for my car, and was told that they can have the replacement window ready by this morning at 10AM. However they would not accept appointment and said they go by first-come-first-serve. I called the shop again 10 min later, and spoke to a different person, and confirmed that I would like to have the replacement window ready by this morning, and I told him that I would bring my car in at 10AM. I even asked whether he needed my credit card for a deposit and he said no. Today, when I drove to the shop, the front desk person said the window needed to be ordered now and told me to come back at 1PM or call them before going in. I called again in 1:30PM and they said the replacement still had not been delivered, and said it might take another 30-45 min but promised to call me back when the window is delivered. I finally got the call back and drove to the shop, but was told that I need to wait for 2 to 3 hours to get the installation done. Having wasted almost an entire day to try to get the window fixed, I got a bit frustrated and was talking about my experience with two other unhappy customers coming out from the waiting room. Moment later, to my shocking surprise, I saw my car was driven out by one of the worker, and he told me that the shop Manager decided not to service my car because I "exhibited dissatisfaction" with their service! And he now asked me to leave without fixing my car window. This is by far the worst experience I ever have from any servicing business! read more

I wish I read these comments before I went to this place! Yes this place is cheap but NOT the cheapest in town and definitely NOT the best in customer service. Leanna was so unprofessional, the extra large women with too much makeup. Yes we can hear you talk in the back talk! Asking how much longer the wait will be shouldn't cause hysteria. She does need a snicker Jon C! She said it would take 2-3 hours however it took 5 hours. Once I asked she rudely told me they received the wrong glass however there was no communication till I asked. Yes she apologized in the most condescending tone and while rolling her eyes. She then went to the back and had long conversation about how she hates this place! The worst part of my 5 hour stay was watching her flirt with the installers as they walked in -Yes I speak Spanish. ..the guys seemed uncomfortable SHE MUST BE THE BOSS. I would really recommend this auto glass I had a great experience. I was calling around to get prices for a windshield on my corolla everywhere else was way expensive and could not get it done that same day which was really frustrating because I needed my car fixed same day I was leaving out of town and I couldn't drive like that. Then I called this auto glass and the person who helped me (can't remember the young lady who helped) was very helpful there prices were very reasonable and way cheaper than what other glass shops quoted me. They took care of me same day i did have to wait longer than what I was told because glass was mismarked and they had to get me a new one from a different warehouse but they kept me updated with time. If you need affordable prices for your vehicle I would recommend calling them they will get you in and out same day!!!! read more

This place is great! A rock broke my windshield and I called two other places one of which couldn't bother to get back to me and the other place was charging $100 more for just the glass alone. Auto Glass Now got me done for over $200 less than their competition. The crew here has excellent customer service skills. They are super helpful & friendly both on the phone and in person. They fixed my windshield while I waited nearby at a coffee shop. In and out within a few hours! Big thanks to Lateesha , Mahmoud, Crystal and everyone in the office. Sorry if I missed any names! I'm actually extremely grateful I found this place. I had either a rock chip or someone wanted to break into my truck but didn't break the glass all the way. This place has amazing prices compared to Safelite. safelite wanted to charge $4-500 for a replacement. Auto glass now had me covered as a walk in. The quality is perfect like OEM with great stock for glass. I thought I would be waiting here for hours so I went to get some food. I didn't even finish getting my food order when they called and said it was all done. Since my brother spoke highly of Glass Pro. I decided to give you guys a try. Let me tell you, I was very impressed by how knowledgeable and courteous Dawn, the customer Service Rep. was. She explained the entire installation process. She went that extra mile to make contact with my insurance company, even when their computer system was down. Dawn is the epitime of customer service. I called about 3p today, expecting to hear that my windshield couldn't be replaced for a week (as I was told by 3 different auto glass shops). To my absolute surprise, I heard, "if you can make it here by 4:30p I'll replace your windshield". I was in my car within minutes and made it from Vallejo to Oakland just in the nick of time! From checking in to collecting my car with its new windshield, the entire process was efficient, professional and extra light on the wallet. I highly recommend this place for your auto glass needs. Been through many windshield replacements using various companies throughout the east bay and contra Costa. This team is the best. No nonsense. Quote way lower than almost all competitors. Fastest turnaround. High quality job with no dirt, grease, or glass shards left in my car. Very professional, well oiled machine this team is. Leteesha quoted me accurately and quickly on the spot (phone) late Friday afternoon. She set me up with 8AM appointment the next morning and arranged to have the correct parts ready by then. 0 Stars if possible! Waiting 4 hours to be told glass was scratched. So of course I was disappointed but the large lady told me that's how it is when you are dealing with glass- so darn rude! IF THIS IS SAME LADY MENTIONED FROM PREVIOUSLY YELP REVIEWS YOU ARE RIGHT PEOPLE(See posting from Jon C., Mar C & Lisa L. ! She has no regard for other people's time nor does she understand the importance of common courtesy. This place is fast and and the price was very reasonable $145 ($160 w/tax). The staffs was very professional and I got my 2014 Prius rear window replaced in about 45 minutes. I called their shop and dropped off my car around 8:50 AM. By 9:45 AM they called me back to let me know that my car was done. Best time to go there is in the morning when they first open, I know it does get very busy later on in the day. A side from my car being broken into last night, I left the shop feeling a bit better. read more

Everything one could want in a windshield repair shop. Very competitive pricing. Re the long wait, we were fully warned. They very obviously tried to treat everyone as fairly and transparently as possible. They appeared competent, conscientious and careful. I have had to complain to the Better Business Bureau and the State Bureau of Automotive repairs who have seen my car and have opened up an investigation. He found Glasstek, scheduled the appointment, and I dropped off my car on Monday, which was a holiday. Mo was there when I arrived around 11:30 AM. He is genuinely one of the nicest and most respectful people I've met. We chatted for a bit, and interestingly, I realized that about 14 years ago, I had my Camry windshield replaced at this same shop while waiting for my wife to pick me up. That level of consistency and longevity says a lot. I let Mo know I needed to head to San Jose and would be back around 5 PM to pick up the car. He was very understanding and accommodating. When I returned, the car looked like new again. The installation was flawless, and the quality of work exceeded my expectations. On top of that, the price was amazing, significantly better than every other place I checked, without compromising quality. Customer service like this is rare these days.
