There's only really been one person working there each time I've passed by, but they're quick to make your order. They have their own seating with high chairs or you can take your acai out to each in the food court. Ordered their basic acai bowl and added bee pollen and goji berries - why didn't they tell be it'd be an extra $2 each add on? The acai was grainy and bland - maybe a bit of honey would've helped? If you're desperate for acai like I was and you're in the area then yeah come here, if you can hold out for better then I'd recommend doing that instead.

This is my second time trying the sunrise shack and they did not dissapoint. The location is so cute. The service is quick and good. I ordered the acai bowl and it was so good. I will be back.

Tried Sunrise Cafe and got the Paradise Bowl, it was good and the pineapple mango base was super refreshing. But honestly, for how small the portion was, I don't know if it's worth the price. It's tasty, just not something I'd run back for.

The infamous papaya bowl and at an affordable price !! Short line at 10am but was able to get food within 10 mins. If you want to eat it by holding the papaya, make sure to have napkins handy since the honey and peanut butter might be dripping. The papaya itself wasn't too big but with all the granola, blueberries, banana, and goji berries it's a nice filling breakfast!

I'm writing this review specifically for the stellar service from the worker who helped us out! He was working by himself last week while it was moderately busy but he had a very efficient system attending to the line while also making the customers their orders in a promptly manner, all while being kind and nice! Drinks were also delicious.

Service was amazing. The lady behind the desk was so sweet and the food was fresh and delicious. The area is so cute with bright colors, paintings, and cute merch inside!

    Small açaí and tropical smoothie.

I was looking for a healthy options in the food court, and I stumbled upon the sunrise shack at Alamoana. It is a very convenient location for us locals who wants a really good açai bowl but don't wanna check into Waikiki. The parking is plentiful. There are a lot of other shops to see in the area and it's a cute little place to stop if you want a cool treat. I ordered the tropical smoothie and an açai bowl. The tropical smoothie has a Pitaya swirl which is very fun looking, but I don't think it really adds anything to this smoothie. I just wish there was more mango flavors since I really do love mango. The açai was good. I wouldn't recommend taking it too far because even as I was eating in the food court, it started melting. The granola is very interesting. I thought it was a little salty , which is different from the granola I am used to on the bowls. Service was friendly and fast. I only waited just a few minutes with a few orders ahead. I asked which açaí bowl had the least amount of calories which the guy wasn't able to answer. My one suggestion would be adding that to the menu items if I had to make anything better.

Great açaí bowls inside The Sunrise Shack at Ala Moana. The service is great and great variety of bowls, with flexibility to substitute items.

I'd give it a 3.5 if we keepin it one hunnid... but gunna show some love with da 4 lol. Maybe just an off day but... idk family. Bowl was not hitting like it normally does. First time coming to this location--mostly just hit north shore grindz when we cruising. Main complain fo me was the acai base--just something off bout it. But who knows.. you be the judge!

UBE BOWL - $13.95 - Base Ube Extract, Banana, Coconut Milk. Tops Banana, Blueberry, Strawberry, Coconut Saucve, Granola, Coconut Flake.

WHEN: Sun @3:30pm I had just finished doing the half century ride, and I knew I wanted an açaí bowl after eating my lunch! It was hard to decide, but because I have never seen an ube açaí bowl anywhere else before, I went for the: UBE BOWL - $13.95 Base Ube Extract, Banana, Coconut Milk Tops Banana, Blueberry, Strawberry, Coconut Saucve, Granola, Coconut Flake. Okay it's more of a smoothie bowl but it was delicious! It's nice the smoothie bowls come in3 sizes and I got the small. Still had leftovers since I couldn't finish it all myself. The shop is super cute with with lots of merch to buy.

    Acai Bowl

I was craving an Acai bowl and decided to come to Sunrise Shack to try! To be honest I was a little disappointed. For the Acai bowl i'd give it a 2 out of 5 because the only fruits that they put in bowl was just bananas. There wasn't much variety and what also killed it was the Acai tasted really watered down. After 2 minutes it would become sludge and it was just super icy as well. Overall, The staff was super friendly, but the Acai was an honest disappointment. I don't think I'll be coming back again.

we tried the #1 people's favourite -- the monkey something (?) LOL it was very creamy and heavy with peanut butter and bananas and all. would prefer the regular one!

The design and decor of the space look very good, featuring a modern aesthetic with clean lines and tasteful accents. It's not crowded, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I chose the papaya bowl and upgraded it with a smoothie, which was quite enjoyable. However, I expected the bowl to be larger; it turned out to be quite tiny, roughly the size of a small cereal bowl. The price was around $16-18, which I feel does not provide sufficient value given the portion size.

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. But it was a good deal and I might go back.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
