We went to the diner after having gone many years ago. The place was clean, busy and well staffed. That was great to see. Three of us at for $40. The Hungryman breakfast included three eggs, bacon, toast, home fries, large juice, and a sausage patty. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Bacon was crispy. Sausage was a bit undercooked for my liking...but tasted good. Nice local spot. We will be back. Been searching for a new spot since Chrissy and Tim's had the fire. read more

This spot is the place to go for breakfast! Everything was tastey and rightly priced. The staff was so friendly even though they were busy. I was surprised how on top of everything the staff was due to the fact that they were so busy. I got a breakfast special that had pancakes, eggs, bacon, and I added home fries on the side and everything was absolutely delicious. The person I was with also ordered breakfast and got the three meats, the eggs, and the home fries. Both dishes had so much food in them and were so filling that I left there stuffed! Plan on stopping at the New Baltimore rest stop for refueling your belly and brain? Well, so did ten thousand other grubby, smelly, weary travelers. Screw that. I tried that, but I kept on truckin' after I assessed the crowd and lack of solid food options at the New (um, stale) Baltimore rest area. Thanks to Yelp, Betty was the bright flame and this truckin' traveler was the weary moth flapping his wings through NY. A greasy spoon, a hot cup of joe and a little boop-oop-a-doop go a long way for a man who foregoes breakfast on the last leg of an 1800 mile road trip. Betty's breakfast boop (Betty Boop theme prevails throughout the resturant) is off the toll road, which may be inconvenient for some, but is much better than a rest stop that had unloaded two busses and was home to an oddly placed farmers market. Betty's held a steady crowd, but we were seated immediately and the food came quickly. We both opted for the Greek omelette special that came with potatoes and toast. While the omelette was a wee bit heavy on feta, I have to admit that it was the freshest and tastiest omelette that I'd enjoyed along my 1800 mile journey. The potatoes were surprisingly flavorful and were quite possibly the best breakfast potatoes I've had in some time. The portion sizes are larger than they appear in the photo, but I told my belly to man up and I managed to clear the plate. Verdict: good food, good service...a-boop-oop-a-doop! read more

This Place is located in a small town near catskill NY, very close to an exit to I-87. Was there for brunch, food was amazing it was very crowded but i was seated very quickly. Servers are super busy, but the food came out super quick it was tasty and the best part of it was super cheap. I had eggs bacon, toast, home fries and a huge drink for only 9.00 dollars so if you are traveling near the catskill in a budget come here. Just your average breakfast joint. A typical bunch of local regulars blended in with the tourist crowd make up the clientele here. Although the staff is always helpful and courteous, the food is about average, and depending on who's behind the stove that day, it can be hit-or-miss sometimes. There are some breakfast specials. They have a few lunch choices, but they are mostly standard fare. They close at 2:30pm every day, so no dinner service here. Not a bad place, but just about average. read more

This place is super cute (all Betty-Boop themed, as the name implies) and the service is very quick and attentive. We came with a group of ten, which we know is a bit much for a roadside diner in this small village, but they accommodated us well and we were seated within 15 minutes of our arrival. Our group had the eggs benedict, blueberry waffles, curly fries, homefries, chocolate milkshake, and then a random assortment of eggs/bacon/sausage/fries. We came starving and a little befuddled by rural life, and left with delightful food-babies and the awkward smiles of a bunch of new yorkers who aren't quite what sure what to think of a place full of polite people and smiling faces without ulterior motives. It was uber pleasant, to say the least. Our waitress was very patient with splitting up our check and getting our admittedly picky orders down to the T. She was also quick to let us know when one of our special requests was going to break the bank. This was much appreciated, as most waitresses in NYC will just write whatever comes to mind, and let you deal with the painful expenditure later. We did a weekend hiking/camping/caving trip around the Catskills from NYC with a group of about ten, and this little spot was actually one of our distinct destinations (see my other recent reviews for other epic gems we discovered in the area--hiking, camping, caving...super schweet fun basically). We weren't in awe, but we were well fed and our wallets weren't broken by this spot. I'd recommend it if you're in the area and need a quick, cheap, delicious bite. read more

Only about 1 mile on RIGHT as you come off the NYS Thruway Exit 21 (Catskill) - don't make any turns after that first right off the Thruway - just go straight along the same road, Route 23B, until you arrive in the very small roadside village of Leeds. Three stars because Betty's Too is in the roadside diner category, but for the category the food is above-average and the service is quick & pleasant. Front of house and restrooms are clean. VERY reasonable prices - a family of four can enjoy breakfast or lunch for $30-$40 including tip, Breakfast and lunch only (I believe they close the kitchen at 2:30PM). Menu is limited to all-day breakfasts, burgers, wraps and other hearty sandwiches. No dinner-style meals (fish & chips platter is the only exception) so if that's what you prefer, watch instead for Koch's Restaurant, which as you approach from the NYS Thruway will be just about 2/3 mile on LEFT side of the very same road (but Koch's is closed part of the winter season). In summary, Betty's Too is a welcome place for Catskill / Leeds locals or travelers. A cute & dependable "all-American" diner in a long-running incarnation of a spot that has been in operation since the 1930s - when Leeds was actually something of a happenin' upstate entertainment mecca, lined with dance halls on both sides of the little main drag. read more

I come to Betty's just about every week for food. Everything I've had there is great, their specials are always delicious and nothing is overly priced. Things have changed since the restaurant changed hands. Its been gradual over the years but the place has really bottomed out. Portion sizes are much smaller while prices have gone up. Service not so good anymore. The up charge for everything other than what is on the menu cost me over $10 for a couple of eggs. There are other places to eat which are better and it shows. Great breakfast options and creative lunch specials. Two young ladies worked the whole diner (serving) both days we frequented the establishment. The speciality blueberry pancakes are absolutely wonderful! A tall stack is more than enough for even the hungriest of eaters! A tall stack is three (3) eight inch pancakes and they are at least 1/4" thick. Fluffy, delicious and very filling! I'd definitely have them again! The eggs Benedict was also very good! The Belgian Waffles are quite sweet. We had them with strawberries and were disappointed that they weren't fresh strawberries. I'd recommend having it plain with syrup unless you like things VERY sweet! And, if you like coffee, they had FRESH ground and brewed coffee. No old or burnt coffee served there! They ate only open to serve breakfast and lunch, so get there early and go home full! We would definitely go back on our next visit to the area! And it's less than a mile from Carl's Rip Van Winkles Motor Lodge and cabins! read more

Food came out very promptly. Friendly and efficient service. My kids had the Mickey pancakes with bacon. My older son said it was the best pancake he's ever had, and he's had a lot of pancakes in his life. I had the black bean veggie burger with carmelized onions, peppers, and sautéed mushrooms. It was amazing. Had crisp seasoned curly fries on the side that were also perfect. My husband had chicken tortellini soup that he said was very good and a blt with pasta and potato salad on the side. Who doesn't love a little local joint that still has the old school pricing. Delicious burgers, quick service, friendly people. I visit quite frequently with my family. The only down side is the close at 4 so sometimes when the hankering for a juicy burger comes on, I can't go to get it. read more

We stopped here during a trip from Vermont to NYC and this place looks a bit old from the looks of the outside but once you get in, the food is amazing and the staff is very courteous.
