Today was my first visit to BeverLiz Cafe. I live In the Valley and don't get to Beverly Hills too often. Upon entering the cafe, I immediately met the owner, Arthur, who was very friendly. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The menu is quite extensive and varied. I ordered the LAMB KABOB PLATE which was absolutely delicious and fresh and generous; the lamb was grilled to perfection. The decor is lovely with fresh rose(s) on every little "bistro" table. And it's a cozy,bright and airy cafe - very clean and well-maintained; I felt like I was dining on a patio in Greece! This will now be my "go to" restaurant when I visit 90210! read more

A wonderful little cafe tucked in amongst the ritz of the BH. Food is tasty and the owners are amazing, working well together and very welcoming! Try the specials!! I had the salmon, with rice, and also some unsweetened iced tea. It also comes in different styles, you can get the salmon and a bunch of different ways. So if you don't like Middle Eastern style, you can get it more of an American way. It's also right near the free two hour parking up the street. So your overall cost of the meal is going to be much cheaper than any other option in the area. It's also consistently good. There's also indoor and outdoor seating. It is only open for lunch just so you know. The chicken plate's also good, I've had the same thing middle eastern style with hummus!! read more

I don't like doing this but Beverliz, you leave me no choice. The food is as good as always. Your service is the problem...service in (in all my recent visits) a restaurant half-full at best. It's ordering with someone and 1 dish arrives 10 minutes after the first. . It's the attitude of the servers who can't seem to wait to not talk to you. Can they read my mind? If so, is that why their attitude is so ambivalent? It's ordering, and re-ordering, and re-ordering a side dish. It's finally getting your check and just taking it to the register because I don't feel like waiting another 10 minutes. It's the staredown of the guy at the register, clearly looking to see the tip. Overly polite by that point, of course. It was one poor visit, then another, then another, and finally this last one that I realized I was overdue to say that yup, Beverliz is A-OK...but I'm no fan of their service. I had some business across the street this beautiful morning and spotted this bright cheery, yellow cafe with plenty of outdoor seating, and walk over to check them out. The friendly cashier invites me to sit anywhere and hands me a menu. I see a few interesting dishes and finally decide to order the "Lyon Scramble--Eggs with ground turkey, mushrooms, tomatoes and shredded cheese. The friendly waiter brings me a nice glass coffee mug which he kept refilled with decent coffee. A short time later he brings me the Lyon Scramble, which in spite of the canned (why not use fresh?) mushrooms was still one of the best breakfast entrees I have had in some time. The whole thing came to 12 bucks with tax and tip, which is a good price in Van Nuys and a great one in Beverly Hills. So why the 3 stars???? Simple, both the hash browns and toast were unacceptable. Not just by 90210 standards, but even compared to a bad meal you would serve a 12 year old at a low-end summer camp!!! Check out the pic of the hash browns. They look like they came out of the 144-pack in Smart and Finals freezer. Also they were nearly awash in oil. The toast was hardly any better. I chose the sourdough, and got a couple of small stale pieces that were barely warm and hadn't even begun to brown. They were served unbuttered with pats a fresh butter, which were just out of a fridge. The toast didn't radiate enough heat to melt the butter. Again I would have been happier with the imitation crap they would serve in the woods. And forgive the nitpick, but while the coffee was served in a nice clear mug, the water was served in translucent disposable plastic cups. So because of the hash browns, the toast, the butter, and the water cup these guys go down from a 5 to a 3 star joint. Which is too bad because if they had done these things right and charged a dollar more, they would have both a bigger profit and a happier customer. go figure. read more

Taken here by a local. About a block or so south of all the commotion on S Beverly Dr. Very fresh, healthy menu choices. Great flavor. Pleasant, friendly staff. The owner Anna knows my friend and treated us all like we were her personal guests. The doctor ( Notorious MD) usually doesn't cross the line but I actually gave Anna a hug when we left. If your looking for a tasty, fairly priced meal without all the Beverly Hills pretense and price then give this restaurant a try ! NMD ( Notorious MD) approved. read more

A friend and I came in for lunch and we had a great experience. I love the interior decor -- murals with sunny scenic views! It's a really cute small cafe. I ordered a tuna melt, which was delicious and my friend ordered a half sandwich with soup. The two of us spent less than $20 on lunch! I'll definitely be back to eat with friends. One of the best eateries in all of LA tucked away in the southern part of Beverly Hills. Lucky for me, it's within walking distance! I've been here a million times and have tried a number of things from their extensive menu. My husband and I love their breakfast menu. My fav is the veggie omelet with hashbrowns and an english muffin. Also good for breakfast - their huge breakfast burrito and breakfast quesadilla. My brother loves their banana pancakes. The lunch options are just as amazing - veggie burger is delightful with mushrooms and onions grilled on top of their perfectly grilled veggie patty. If you're a fry lover - you should not hesitate in this arena- they're always just the perfect amount of crispy. Sandwiches come with a side salad or fries. I love the avocado and Swiss with a Greek side salad. Today I tried the Teriyaki Salmon Salad. It came with sesame salad dressing I had on the side. Like everything else on their menu it was so good! Accompanied with a bubbling fountain diet coke...ahhhhh. The only downside to this cafe is that it closes at 6! Many times I've walked by wishing I could stop in here for dinner for some of their salmon kabobs or Chilean salmon. And they're closed on Sunday - the best day for brunch! This is such a lovely little spot. Their menu is extensive and whatever you have a hankering for is most probably available. We devoured their chicken tacos and kebabs. What a great little hidden gem on A Beverly. There was plenty of seating, everything was delicious and they had a great menu of sandwiches, salads, and Mediterranean type dishes. I ordered the Lamb and it was perfect. They also let me costumize the veggies with my dish which was perfect. I (HEART) CAR CRASH Affectionately called "Car Crash" by my co-workers due to the two unfortunate collisions this place has had with moving vehicles, this is a great place for a quick lunch or a hearty breakfast on the weekend. The BLTA is loaded with smokey bacon and rich avocado, and the fries and thin and crisp. For breakfast, try their eggs benedict or one of their huge omelets. But then I'd have to resort to buying oh so sexy elastic waistband pants. In my 'hood I have limited choices including Urth Cafe (can be busy and pretentious) and a much better Beverliz. Still a good people watching spot for Sat/Sun, and choices ranging from artery clogging to LA healthy to just right, the Beverliz serves it's purpose for a relaxing breakfast spot that wont' break the bank. read more

An underrated cafe that happens to be across the street from Urth Caffe. I work super close to this cafe and will get lunch here quite often because they never have the crazy long lines like Urth does and they have a huge selection of item menus. From salads to press wraps to kabob plates as well as their daily entrees that are created by the chef. You'll be able to find something you're in the mood for whenever you come here. And they always use fresh ingredients (I know because I see the small minivan that pulls up to the restaurant with groceries every morning) and they have great healthy options that I love. I would recommend the Turkey Avocado press wrap and the Breakfast Burrito! My two favorite items here. The workers are very friendly and the service is always great. Parking may be an issue in this area but if you're just coming for lunch, you can find 2 hour free street parking on Reeves Dr. behind Beverliz until 6pm. read more

The menu is huge... great for most people, but I get overwhelmed by a big menu. From a regular customer who has been coming here at least once a week. I have to say their customer service is bad, it was not very good before, but now it's just terrible. I have ordered a dish I have never ordered here before (a basic Greek omelet). When it came out, there on the plate was thin egg omelette and inside a bunch of barely cooked tasteless vegetables. I tried a bit and didn't like it at all. So I called the server, and asked him if it was possible to change the dish because it's not what I thought it would be. I was promptly informed I will be charged half price for the plated I didn't like (it's was $8+ so $4+). Seriously how greedy are you to loose a regular customer over $4. Not to mention this is the first time ever I asked for a dish change after a year of coming here. On top of everything, when the lady owner came over she advised me that all ingredients are "fresh" and directly told me that "all other places" use canned vegetables and that's I probably don't know how the fresh veggies taste. Seriously?? What does she think I eat at McDonalds unless I come here? What does it have to do with not cooking her "fresh vegetables" anyways. I've also been told the owner doesn't like to waste food. Well should I feel guilty and eat it now? Am I a relative to talk to me that way? So bazaar. read more

The place was cozy and clean. It wasn't packed as I was expecting it to be since it was lunch time and we found great parking in front. The service was on top of it, speedy and nice, checked on us a few times. I wanted to order a few things on the menu it all looked so good! Breakfast is served all day! That is one of the best parts. the omelets looked AMAZING! I regret not getting it, but had my mind set on the salad. They have a variety of meat dishes along with vegetarian and fish dishes. I've been coming here for many years now since living down the block. I only sit outside and only order one thing here. The kabob plate is a must order here for both value and taste. Served on a very large dinner plate overflowing...they bring a separate plate just for the large lavash that comes with it. Let me run down what's here...grilled chicken, grilled tomatoes onions and peppers, heaping amount of humus, Greek salad, and a large bed of rice. As big as the plate is I do finish it off every time. The outside seating is great for people watching and the owners and staff are always extremely pleasant. I've had other items on the menu which have all been great....really tasty and inexpensive burger special is recommended. I had a horrible experience today. 1. I've order delivery and never had a problem. 2. I've eaten here two other times and never had a problem. 3. This is the last time I will ever come here. My party of three was seated quickly. We got menus and drinks quickly as well, then proceeded to wait 45mins for two burgers and a salad. We couldn't wait any longer as we had to get back to work, so we asked for it to go. Instead of a beef burger, chicken sandwich and a salad, we received two beef burgers and salad. Ugh. read more

The food is great here just be sure if you ever want delivery to order 2hrs in advance to get it delivered in time to eat. I made an order for delivery 40 minutes before my lunch (11:50am) they are a block away btw. When I asked how long the order would take I was told 45 minutes which I did not mind at all considering how busy they get during lunch so I anticipated an hour. I waited til about 1 o'clock to call and ask the status of my order and the same person said that the delivery is on their way and should take about 10mins( ok fine), by 1:25pm still no order delivered and my lunch time was ending in 5 minutes. This time we call again and decided that we'd like to cancel our order. When we call that very same person says they are just about to leave and will be there soon!!! We thought this was ridiculous and we requested to Cancel the whole order for 4 people. Instead of an apology for the delay and waiting an hour and a half wasting our whole lunch hour for our food the man instead says "So you want me to cancel the whole order and throw away all this food?" Repeatedly as if trying to guilt trip me and insisted that we can just eat the food later which would no longer be fresh anyway. I simply told him I'm sorry but our lunch time is over we would no longer be able to eat our food. He could have simply given the food away he didn't have to make us feel bad for canceling when we ordered the food for lunch not for our dinner and repeatingly asking me if he should throw all the food away.
