These guys are the absolute best. I heard about them on one of those tv shows where they blow the whistle on mechanics who try to charge you extra for things that are not really wrong with your car and these guys were the only ones who didn't try and pull a scam. I've been living in Koreatown for several years now, and Irvin and his shop are my go-to mechanics for car repairs. I'm not going to waste everyone's time on what kind of gum they have stocked on their shelves here or how promptly the cashier gives me change. I think what we all tend to forget is that we are all human beings. We can make mistakes but the true judge of how human somebody is, is how they respond to a mistake. I could write a book on the mechanic horror stories I have under my belt and I guarantee you that next to some of the places I have been to and next to some of the people I have dealt with, these guys are operating the gates of heaven. I was referred here by a friend who mentioned the consumer report situation where this place (Armen) and one other place were the only shops who were honest about the fact that the reporter's car didn't need any work. Long story short, I had some electrical work done and Franco's Auto Electric about a year ago to attempt to fix an A.C. fan fuse that kept melting. Well, like everything else Franco's shop does, this was not done correctly either because my A.C. just stopped in the middle of a very hot day when I had my toddler in the car. I called Armen and noticed right of the bat that he is a genuinely nice guy. When I started to explain my situation, Armen listened. He didn't rush me and just tell me to bring my car by. He let me fully explain my situation and was patient and responsive. I left my car in his hands and he fixed my problem. Electrical problems are not easy to fix in general. Most mechanic shops won't touch them. They will refer you to an electrical place. Secondly, it is much more complicated even still to go back over somebody else's ham and egged work. He spent a ridiculous amount of time on my car to figure out the problem and the first day, because I needed my car back, he put it back together and started again the next day without charging me for it. I actually felt like I was dealing with a family member who had my best interests at heart, rather than how much money he was going to make. Unlike every other place I have been to, I have this overall sense of peace and calm. Having Armen and his shop, gives me hope that I might be able to keep my car and finally get it fixed properly. My intuition and overall experience tells me this is the only place to go for car trouble or anything you need for your car. I won't go anywhere else ever again! read more

My mother was in town and her check engine light came on, the guys at this shop were SO KIND, they did not take advantage of us, checked to make sure the car was ok and filled a fluid. I have taken my car here on two occasions in the last year and both times the service and work was excellent. Mike, Armen, Harry, Sean - they are all incredibly skilled -- and more important, honest and trustworthy. Their prices are reasonable and fair - and they never tried to add on extras costs - something I have run into in the past. My car is a Mercedes so I am always very careful who does work on it. Most tune-ups and routine repairs have been done at the dealership in Beverly Hills. But thankfully a friend of mine who had previously used Beverly 76 recommended them to me and I couldn't be happier. Great service from the staff, I came to fix my busted breaks lights for my car and they finish it for 15 minutes. Not only they are very friendly and knowledgeable... Super stoked to have encountered this shop after reading all of the reviews. Irvin is old-school cool! I've been dealing with Los Angeles mechanics since 1983, and have driven everything from 2 wheels to 18 wheels, so my experience with mechanics is diverse. I have 2 cars, a modern Volvo sedan and a classic VW bus. I first brought my Volvo to him, and he did me right, and managed to save me a ton of money in the process, because I had mistakes done by a prior mechanic who decided to play it out by telling me I needed some major repairs that were actually not needed. He provided me with a very thorough inspection, and a proper oil change (the last mechanic forgot to top off and I almost blew my engine), and make some adjustments, and the cost was more than fair and reasonable. The next day, I brought my classic to him, and while I have a specific mechanic whom I very much trust for my VW, he is located further away than Irvin, and since it was fairly minor, I went to Irvin. He's a truly stand-up kind of man, and gentleman, which has become a dying breed in Los Angeles. He knows I'm a solo female traveler when I take my bus off-grid, and he really was concerned with sending me out with a fully inspected vehicle. He did some rewiring of the original electrical (because back then standards weren't as stringent and the standard electrical of the 70's is shoddy in today's times and gadgets), and was efficient and affordable. But the bottom line is this, even though I'm at least twice Irvin's age, as a female, he really made me feel like he had my back and understood why, for me, a solo adventurist middle-aged woman, a mechanic who understands how important safe travels really are is EVERYTHING!!! Thanks, Irvin, and I'll see you soon, because the miles I drive in an old vehicle requires many oil changes and check-ups to maintain the original engine for as long as I can! read more
