Since then, I have trusted Dr. Arthur Kezian's office with my dental care for many procedures, including cleanings, crowns, and a dental implant. The care has always been outstanding. Over the last four years, I have mainly seen Dr. Michael Kezian, who has been truly exceptional. He takes the time to explain treatment options clearly, gives honest and thoughtful advice, and always makes me feel comfortable and informed. I have also been treated by other doctors in the practice, including Dr. Narine, and my experience has been consistently excellent. What stands out most to me is that the advice and treatment recommendations they have given me since 2017 have proven to be accurate and valid over the years. That kind of consistency, knowledge, and integrity is rare, and it is one of the main reasons I trust them completely. Before coming here, I had a real fear of dentists. I originally came to this practice for a routine checkup and was told I needed a deep cleaning…read more(SRP) and two crowns because two old fillings had deep decay underneath them. I scheduled the deep cleaning first, but on the day of the appointment the dentist repeatedly told me that the crowns were much more important and strongly recommended doing them first instead. I felt pressured into changing my treatment plan that day, and I agreed. The crown procedure ended up taking about 3.5 hours. During the appointment, I was moved from one room to another because they needed an X-ray machine that was only available in a different room. I was left waiting there for a while before being moved back. The entire process felt disorganized and unprofessional. What bothered me even more was that after one tooth had already been drilled and while I was still numb in the chair, someone from the front desk came into the treatment room to collect payment while I'm in the middle of the procedure. It felt like the financial aspect of the visit was being prioritized over patient care by miles. The office itself also raised concerns. The dental chair I was in couldn't be lowered because it was broken, and one of the staff members laughed and commented that it had been that way for about a year. That did not inspire confidence. Looking back, there were other interactions that also made me uncomfortable. During my very first appointment, the dentist asked how much I pay for my dental insurance because he questioned the quality of my plan. I didn't think much of it at the time, but in hindsight it felt unrelated to my care. Before the crowns, I was told the sensitivity should resolve within about two weeks. Two months later, I was still experiencing significant sensitivity, so I returned for a follow-up. I told the dentist I was worried the tooth under the crown might be exposed. Instead of addressing that concern directly, he told me I should be happy because the sensitivity meant the nerve was still alive. While that may be true from a clinical perspective, it did not address why I was still in pain or ease my concerns. I also wish I had been better informed about the risks of placing crowns on teeth with deep decay. I was told the crowns were intended to help prevent root canals, but I was not informed beforehand that a tooth can still become inflamed after such a procedure and may eventually require root canal treatment despite the crown. Knowing that possibility in advance would have helped me make a more informed decision. At that same follow-up visit, while my concerns about the crowns had still not been resolved, I was asked whether I wanted to have a filling done on another tooth. That felt poorly timed and reinforced my impression that additional treatment was being prioritized before addressing my existing issue. Another thing that stood out to me was how often the dentist seemed to reference my treatment plan and the associated charges during my visits. It gave me the impression that the financial side of my case was constantly top of mind. Before the crowns, I repeatedly asked whether my Invisalign retainers would still fit afterward. I explained that they were plastic and couldn't simply be adjusted if the shape of my teeth changed. Each time, I was assured they would either continue to fit or be adjusted if necessary. As I feared, the retainers no longer fit after the crowns were placed. When I brought this up, instead of honoring the assurances I had been given, I was told I would need to pay about $300 for a replacement retainer. That was extremely frustrating and made me feel that my concerns had not been taken seriously from the beginning. One final observation: I may have misheard, so I cannot state this as fact, but I thought I overheard one of the dentists asking a patient out on a date. If that is what I heard, I found it inappropriate. To be fair, I also take responsibility for my own decisions. I could have asked more questions, taken more time to think, or declined treatment that day. However, I expect a healthcare provider to respect a patient's treatment plan, provide thorough informed consent, and make the patient's interests feel like the priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I left feeling that the practice placed too much emphasis on production and too little on patient-centered care. I will not be returning.

He tells me he needs to book me for another appointment, seemingly since the suction system for the building turns off at a certain time.. the next availability is another month away... So, why not book me with enough time in the first place, or know what I was there for ? I called to voice my complaint and he treats me like a child and I can go elsewhere. He's pretty condescending and heavy handed with his work anyway.

Sometimes when you're on Yelp, you'll see a dentist with 300 five star reviews, but then you'll see 10 or so one star reviews and you wonder what is going on. It really is hard to find an actual good dentist absent a personal recommendation. Blue Pearl (and Dr. Amna Hussain) were absolutely fantastic. They use really cutting edge tech to x-ray, photograph and diagnose. The pain of visiting the dentist is actually gone. Dr. Amna made it a point to vocalize everything she was about to do and why, which was cool and calming. The entire visit wasn't expensive at all (no insurance here) and Dr Amna made it a point to take the entire process I'm involved in slowly so we can take the proper course, which was appreciated. Overall, great visit. If I were to make the most minor of complaints, maybe there are too many text messages prior to visit, but I think that's a ZocDoc thing and my own thing about getting too many messages.
