    lol the office thought I was bothered because the Dr had to refund my money on a job he messed up on

    I thought I had found the BEST dentist in LA UNTIL I decided against all the out of pocket additional recommendations he suggested throughout my visits. His attitude with me quickly changed. I had been very happy going there even after I moved to the valley so that should speak volumes as to how pleased I was with the dental technicians work, she was & has always been very professional & kind I highly recommend her. Dr Makhani didn't see me at all he was just given updates & made suggestions on how I could spend money. He was irritated I used charcoal at home but didn't want to pay him to whiten my teeth. I turned down his suggestion to get implants ($5k+) so he became irritated that I only wanted a partial made. It was downhill from there. In the end his last straw presented itself when he tried to adjust my partial and ended up ruining it by putting too much acrylic on it. It arrived absolutely perfect it just needed minor adjusting but I guess he was over it by then. Opposed to calling me & advising me it couldn't be fixed he waited for me to contact him. He gave me a BS excuse as to why the company he used could not provide me with a duplicate partial. When I asked for the company name he again gave some BS company that did not exist when I googled it. When I told him I was changing dentist he said that would be a good idea to go closer to home. Funny he would rather lose my business than to provide the care I requested even after going out of my way to maintain that location. He closed with a return check in the amount I paid for the partial & a note stating: "Our office wanted to let you know even though we lost money on your case we are still giving you a full refund" which gave me a chuckle, not only did he lose money (his only concern) but he thought his letter would make me feel bad because he had to return my money after HE ruined the partial. Proceed with caution, his office likes to suggest you spend out of pocket money.... stand your ground & make the best decisions for yourself. The Dr only had profit in mind.

    My son loves Dr Makhani He keeps his teeth nice and clean.  Thanks for teaching us how to care for our teeth we u & the staff.

Sometimes when you're on Yelp, you'll see a dentist with 300 five star reviews, but then you'll see 10 or so one star reviews and you wonder what is going on. It really is hard to find an actual good dentist absent a personal recommendation. Blue Pearl (and Dr. Amna Hussain) were absolutely fantastic. They use really cutting edge tech to x-ray, photograph and diagnose. The pain of visiting the dentist is actually gone. Dr. Amna made it a point to vocalize everything she was about to do and why, which was cool and calming. The entire visit wasn't expensive at all (no insurance here) and Dr Amna made it a point to take the entire process I'm involved in slowly so we can take the proper course, which was appreciated. Overall, great visit. If I were to make the most minor of complaints, maybe there are too many text messages prior to visit, but I think that's a ZocDoc thing and my own thing about getting too many messages.

My review didn't reflect my full experience, and I can't help but wonder how many of the other glowing reviews were motivated by the same gift card... Now that I've dealt with the billing side of this practice, I can confidently say my experience has not been five stars. Because of their billing practices, I no longer return to or recommend this office. Here's what happened: I came in for treatment and was quoted a price I thought I would pay. I agreed to the procedure based on that quote. Weeks later, I received a bill for $642.50 because my insurance benefits were apparently maxed out at the time of treatment. I was blindsided and felt trapped. I understand insurance can be complicated, but if I'd known the real out-of-pocket cost, I would have scheduled the work later when I could afford it. Instead, I had to pay the unexpected balance or risk it going to collections. Beware: the price they quote you may not be what you actually pay. This office also requires you to leave a credit card on file to book appointments -- you can't get around it (see attached text from the office). Given my experience, I strongly advise against leaving your card on file. Honestly just stay away from this practice altogether!

    I rarely write reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make informed…read moredecisions. After receiving treatment at this office, I was later contacted and asked to pay additional money beyond what I believed I owed. When I tried to understand the charges, I reviewed my insurance explanations of benefits and billing statements. During that process, my insurer, Delta Dental, required the office to issue refunds due to overbilling concerns. Even after those refunds were issued, the office later attempted to bill a procedure nearly a year after the original visit. This raised serious questions for me about the accuracy and timing of the billing. I also asked to review my dental records so I could better understand what occurred during my visits. In writing, I was told I would need to pay more than $2,500 just to review the records, otherwise I was told there were no records to review. That response was extremely surprising and made it very difficult to resolve the situation directly with the office. Because I could not get clear answers, I ultimately filed a complaint with the Dental Board of California so the matter could be reviewed independently. If you are a patient here, I strongly encourage you to carefully review your billing statements and insurance explanations of benefits. If something does not seem right, you may want to contact the Dental Board of California to report your experience so it can be looked into. Patients deserve transparency, accurate billing, and access to their own records.

When I arrived, I was told I'd have to pay $150 because I'm eligible tomorrow -- not today. No one informed me in advance. They had no problem sending multiple reminders about a $150 no-show fee, but somehow failed to notify me about an out-of-pocket charge. That's basic billing responsibility. On top of that, the office looked poorly managed. My 10:00 AM appointment wasn't called until 20 minutes later, while multiple patients were waiting. Two hygienists were chatting in the hallway instead of calling patients in. The hygienists also did not look presentable -- hair down and untied while working around patients' mouths, which is concerning from a professionalism and hygiene standpoint. Honestly, I'm almost relieved it didn't work out. The lack of communication, supervision, and professionalism was very clear. I will not be returning.
