I called Mr. Jin in the morning and he was able to drive over that afternoon to my new condo to replace the deadbolts and mailbox lock, all completed within one hour. Yup, the unthinkable and the worst feeling of vulnerability happened. We locked ourselves out of the apartment. With no help from the apartment manager nor the property owner, we decided to take it upon ourselves to use the old fashion way with credit cards to unlock the door. 30 mins later with 2 fragmented cards we knew this was a tougher task. We gave in and started searching for a 24hr locksmith because at that time it was about 7PM. After one call and a text with the address, he came and drove up with a van packed with all essential tools to open any kind of bad boy door! He started pulling out tools left and right, even gadgets I've never seen with things sticking out from the top and bottom. He took a look at the door, got down on one knee, pulled a little driller look-alike and literally in a second VOILA! Unlocked and reunited with our keys at last. The owner was so sweet and compassionate about what he does and it really showed in how he helped us. We were thankful that an inconvenient situation like this led us to him. Copying keyes are not to reviewed here because copying keys are available every where not only from locksmith buy even also by mailbox etc. Locksmith job is specific field job like unlocking doors, cars when locked out as quickly as it can be. This reviews did not come from his field job for opening room doors, car door and maing another copiea for that. most of the ratings and reviews come from just copying keys at a stationary booth run by his wife. That means,,, copying keys(available everywhere even not by locksmith) are only for bait to lead to field jobs. But acually he does not speak english and he is very mean lock smith. I had serve him twice but the 2nd last time was horrible experience. I had him serve someone else to help him. But i was ended up with being yelled at me because of trouble with other car blocking his car after the job finished. He blamed and yelled at me so rudely even though the situation was not caused by me. And later the person who paid for the service showed me a receipt of $550 to change locks just in an hour. Highly paid but he donot know how to thank me but blamed and yelled at me seriously about a situation not related to me just because of he was in a hurry to go for another job. He is such an mean person. Do not trust this review do decide to have him serve you in the field in need of unlocking doors. Mr. Jin is the best Locksmith ever an such a genius and pro!!! He saved us from a weekend being locked in with his expertise and professionalism! Our locksmith for life from now on! Short story is: Our lock stopped working, the first locksmith we tried failed to fix our broken lock after 1.5hr of work, we Yelped and found Mr. Jin. Mr. Jin showed up within an hour receiving my phone calls, fixed the lock to perfect condition, all super smoothly within 30mins!!! My husband and I couldn't help but call him a genius! On top of that, Mr. Jin is also super humorous and fun to work with. He finished work and have both us try the lock several ways to make sure it's working in perfect condition. Super professional I wish I could give him more stars than just 5!!! Long Version: Our lock somehow broke this morning all of a sudden and the key just wouldn't turn and couldn't unlock from outside. Someone have to be home or else we won't be able to get back in even with the key. We tried to contact the locksmith affiliate with our apt building but they couldn't come in today. Our landlord find us a locksmith some neighbor used few weeks ago (they had similar issue but eventually had to replace the whole lock for $650+labor). The locksmith open up the lock parts, spent 1.5hours and told us it couldn't be fixed and we would have to spend $650+labor to change a new lock. It is Fri 4:30pm when he told us this, and he said he won't be able to get the parts until Monday morning and fix it Monday afternoon, which means we won't be able to go out until Monday afternoon??!! Feeling desperate, I started browsing other locksmith on yelp, hope to find someone available during weekend and can fix our lock. Mr. Jin's business got the highest review in the area so I called him. He told me to send him the pics of our lock which I did. And he told me he has been in the business for 26 years, and 90% he can fix it. I told how our previous locksmith failed after 1.5hr of work and honestly we are ready to change the lock for the expensive price. Then Mr. Jin showed up within an hour (through all the crazy traffic in LA and the crazy parking in DTLA), he opened the lock like the pro, used only about 15mins taking it apart and put it all back, and voila the lock is back to work!!! We paid less than 1/3 of the cost the other locksmith planning to charge us and got it fixed in less than 2hours total instead of having to wait for another 3 days locked in by a non-functioning door.
