I locked myself out of my apartment and called this place. Jin came out within two hours, and in a matter of five minutes he had gotten through the apartment gate and WD-40ed his way through my door. The price came out to 55, and this is my only qualm because he had originally quoted 50. Coming home after a day of shopping to find that your keyless entry has dead batteries (and you don't have the key because you've never needed it) is no fun. Lesson learned! I searched trusty Yelp and came across this gem. I called and after explaining the situation he gave me a quote. When I mentioned the quotes I had gotten from another place he didn't hesitate to price match. It took all of 20 minutes total to arrive at our place and get the door open. Upon arrival, he was able to tell me immediately what lock/option he thought was best, performed the install in literally seconds, made sure that my keys were working, and went on his merry way. The guy is really nice, but there is a serious language barrier. First, he called me to say he was going to be 2 hrs late. I appreciated the heads up, but I'd made the appointment a week before so he should have planned better. I wanted him to be here when the kids were away and the baby wasn't sleeping, but because he was behind schedule he arrived when they were. I texted him to request he be quiet as the kids were sleeping. But he would yell for me down the hallway. I reminded him to lower his voice. He then took a call in our foyer and was speaking very loudly and it echoed. I reminded him again to be quiet. We didn't have the right pieces to install what we needed, so I had him do something else since he came out. Later, while writing up the invoice he informed me that he knew he said for the work I wanted would be $150. But now it's $250. Then he told me that my English was good, presumably because I am Asian looking. It should be since I'm American. It was just overall a weird and annoying experience. read more

I've actually bookmarked Beverly Locksmith to get my door fixed but never got around to give them a call. Coincidentally, my landlord sent over a locksmith and it happened to be Beverly Locksmith's owner, Mr. Jin! Mr. Jin gave me a timeframe of when he would be stopping by and also gave me a call ten minutes before arrival. I'm a huge advocate when it comes to being on time and Mr. Jin was more than punctual. As soon as he arrived, he got right to evaluating the issue and within 5 minutes, he was already in the process of fixing my door.
