I've actually bookmarked Beverly Locksmith to get my door fixed but never got around to give them a call. Coincidentally, my landlord sent over a locksmith and it happened to be Beverly Locksmith's owner, Mr. Jin! Mr. Jin gave me a timeframe of when he would be stopping by and also gave me a call ten minutes before arrival. I'm a huge advocate when it comes to being on time and Mr. Jin was more than punctual. As soon as he arrived, he got right to evaluating the issue and within 5 minutes, he was already in the process of fixing my door. He also made sure that my door was closing and opening without putting too much stress on the locks! He even answered a lot of questions that I had about locks and safety. In addition, I asked him about installing an additional lock on one of my doors and he was able to get it done within minutes. I really appreciate his knowledge and his professionalism! I asked him to come to my place just to give an estimate to fix the latch of my glove compartment of my car, which was broken into by a burglar; and the burglar broke it. Jin, the locksmith, showed up after a few hours around 7:30pm with his van. I let him park inside of the garage. He got out of the van and checked the latch, and I thought he would give me an estimate. Unexpectedly, without giving me any estimate, he proceeded to pull out wd-40 lube and started spraying a lot inside and around the latch and jamming a metal tool to possibly smooth out the kinks inside. I already had a bad feeling about this, using wd 40 at all into the latch of the glove compartment of a luxury car; and jamming the rod forcibly all around. Initially, the key to the latch didn't go in fully, but after Jin tried with wd-40 and jamming a metal rod for 5 min, the key went in and he could turn the lock and shut. But since it's clearly still broken, when the key was not in locked position, the glove door just fell out. The latch part is also crooked looking as well. Even when the glove door was locked, the door was not aligned and the latch looked twisted. I was like... What the F? Jin is like "ok, now you can lock the glove compartment". I was like "are you fking serious?" In my mind. Satisfied with his job, he walked to back to his van and proceeded to tell me with a smug face, "ok, so it is $95 dollars". I told him for the quality of job he did $95 is way too expensive, but he insisted on the price. Remember that the latch is still broken and the door cannot be shut properly. I told him you didn't give me any estimate to begin with, started working on my car without my approval, and throwing $95 for the 5 min bogus job? I asked him I will use an insurance, so write me an estimate. He scribbled some numbers and $450 on a yellow small paper on which his writing are barely legible, and I thought this is not good. This guy is here to rip me off. Jin told me I pay him $95 now and once I got insurance money, I can pay him the difference. I told him I am around the contractor businesses and what he is doing is unreasonable. After some back and forth, he said "so, how much can you pay?" I was speechless and he said "how about $60?" By then I was too tired to deal with his bs, so I called my roommate who is a contractor to come downstairs to explain and deal with him. My roommate came down to where we were, and he checked the glove compartment, and not only the glove door doesn't close but the key doesn't go in at all because after Jin made it in initially after his all the jamming and dw-40, the latch fell back into original broken position. Anyways, my roommate told him that Jin didn't give me any estimate, the latch is still broken, as broken as before, asking $95 is unethical. After some back and forth, Jin gave up and left. It was an unreal experience. This guy just wanted to come in, and get quick bucks. I had to deal with a burglar and now this guy. Holy cow. Please be aware. He wasn't looking out for me or quality of his work. He seems he was only looking to make quick bucks when I was in need. read more

However, after trying to program, he failed and told me he already cut the key, so I still had to pay "$40" on a key that can't work. Seriously, he was like the Matrix Keymaker. He charged me $95, which was very reasonable considering how quickly he came over and didn't d*ck around. I was taken for a ride previously by another locksmith and was charged $200!. That con took about one hour using the same tools. 10 secs @ $95 vs $200 @ 1 hour. Absolutely incredible. He drove out (within 20 min) to help me late at night, when I locked my keys in the trunk of my car. I had initially called AAA to help me, but they couldn't do anything. AAA recommended a locksmith that would charge 400 dollars to unlock my trunk. In a panic, I called around to several locksmiths in the area for help. Several had quotes for me, but Beverly Locksmith beat them all out. Beverly Locksmith not only worked some magic to unlock my trunk, but they provided me with a substitute key as well. You don't need to read my review to get your answer - everyone else has already said it. I locked the bottom lock in my apartment (not the bolt) before leaving and, of course, left my keys inside. I called Jin at 8am on a Sunday and he was here (Hollywood) in 20 minutes. I probably woke him up, but he was incredibly nice as everyone has said, and literally opened my lock in 3 minutes. He started with the least destructive option possible (a little WD40 and a lockpicking device), for anyone concerned. I did NOT have to buy a lock from him. I suspect if you've bolted the door, that would not be the case (understandably so). I don't like throwing money away (especially on my own stupidity), but for the quality of service and interaction, $95 is an easy fee to pay. He was even willing to drive me to the nearest ATM to get cash so I could avoid a credit card surcharge. I declined because he had another appointment waiting after me. I will absolutely call him the next time this happens (I'm looking at you, Honda Civic for which I only have 1 key...). read more

I was quoted $120 and 15min arrival, which ended up being $131.80 (tax w/ credit card) and 13min. Very prompt, professional and courteous service! Took less than 30sec to get me back inside, and after retrieving my keys and demonstrating that they worked in my locks, I let him plug his card reader into my wall outlet to swipe the plastic. So I was pissed at this place for not being open 24 hours like it said but came back when he was actually open and was really helpful! I originally came back for a garage door opener and he had it for cheaper than the other place that I got it from which is super great!!! So after that I also asked if he sold the alarm for my car cause I lost the buttons to unlock it! And luckily he did!!!! So I was able to get a new car key for only $120 and he installed it for me. And now it works (: if I had gone to the dealership it would have been more to install. So definitely very helpful and has pretty much everything you need.
