Blackstone is right down the road from my parents house, they have been multiple times and have enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner here - they said it's one of their favorite places to dine at. I had breakfast with them this weekend and it was an excellent meal! The decor is dark and modern, the seating is super comfy, and the service was fast and friendly. I had the Benedict Flight and it was delicious! I finished the Jalapeno, spinach, & tomato benedict, and only ate half of the other two so I could bring them home to my husband. Chipotle with bacon and ham was yummy, but my favorite was Tomatillo, pork belly, and avocado, SO freaking good! The potatoes on the side were crispy and seasoned to perfection. He reheated it all the next day for breakfast and said it was outstanding. My parents got their apple empanadas, I don't like cooked apples so it wasn't my jam, but they loved them. They also had the Meat Lover's Omelette and Ribeye Sandwich with truffle fries. All I tried were the fries and they were very good. They both loved their meals and I could tell the ribeye sandwich was super tender, my stepmom bit right through it with no issue, she took half home cause it was a very large sandwich. Total after tip was $150, which also included a Bloody Mary, iced tea, and Arnold Palmer. It's pricey, but well worth it for how good it was. I hope we eat here again when I visit them! read more

Let's start with how amazing our server Paloma is! We were at our table and she instinctively moved another table over so we had more space. She knew the menu so well she basically told my hubby what to eat and drink and he LOVED it. He had the chilaquiles with chicken (cause he doesn't eat pork or beef) and I had the very basic eggs, potatoes and bacon. The potatoes were very tasty and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The place was clean and organized. Definitely a great spot for a date. Food 9/10 Me and my girlfriend got the Apple empanadas and the chefs platter. The other party ordered a mole brisket dish and something that had gravy which I don't remember. The Apple empanadas was so good. It was like eating an hot apple pie with cinnamon on top and adding this milky sauce on top which melts in your mouth. So good! I loved the chefs platter which was $70 and it was enough for 2-3 people. The chefs platter contained chicken, steak, juicy plantain, chilaquiles, and homestyle potatoes. Banana latte was the star of the show. Absolutely delicious. If you like something sweet, the lattes are a good choice. The chicken Cesar wrap, missed the mark. Lettuce was hot and wilted. That's always come included), mascarpone French toast with tres leches sauce and the three piece empanada appetizer. Had brunch at Blackstone Kitchen + Bar with two of my friends for an early Mother's Day celebration and it was my first time there. I ordered the chilaquiles and they were amazing! Usually the chips get soggy fast, but theirs stayed perfectly crispy while still soaking up all the flavor. I also tried a bite of the French toast and it was so good -- the flavored cream they use on top was incredible. Everything we had was delicious and the atmosphere was great for brunch. stopped in after a long day down in San Diego because it was on the way home and we're really glad we did! i had the porterhouse & shrimp and hubs had the carne asada & camarones (similar but different to what i had lol). both were pretty solid. the chimichurri sauce that came with both were delicious! we didn't anticipate it being the kind of place that sends a photographer around or celebrates birthdays with a group singalong. we didn't hate it, it just caught us off guard haha the other guests seem to really enjoy themselves. staff were very attentive, even though we were one of the last sittings of the night. we felt very well taken care of. we'll definitely come back! i hope to sit on the patio next time read more

We had reservations for 5:15, and our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. We ordered the 16 oz. ribeye steak, and wow--it practically melted in your mouth! The French fries tasted fresh and homemade, not frozen at all. The mashed potatoes is real potato, not powdery ! love. The horchata is so good, can't go wrong w horchata. My friend went with the Benedict flight, and each variation was a flavor bomb. The staff were attentive and helpful and offered us a flight of different sauces to try. I had the Benedict Flight which was phenomenal! Every bite was bursting with fresh flavors. My hubs got the Steak and Eggs. He wanted it medium rare but got medium instead but still enjoyed his meal. The potatoes that came with it were crispy on the outside and creamy inside--kudos for achieving this since the potatoes at some other places are kind of dry and chewy. The food was so good! The guacamole, fried beef appetizer 10 out of 10! One of the most innovated fun appetizers I've had in a long time. And all of their sauces were so good too. I would come back just for that appetizer. We also ordered the filet mignon and short rib ribs both of them excellent! The ambience was a cool modern vibe you had people dressed up you had people in T-shirts and hats. It was definitely a vibe. The service was pretty good, they work as a team so all the servers can help if you ask anyone for services. Each one had its own flavors, so different, but also so great together. The Steak and Eggs was a great classic style, and I really liked the chimichurri sauce and potatoes with it. The Waffles were good too. They were slightly soft for my liking, but the flavor was still really good. Once our food arrived, I ordered a Carajillo and it was amazing! I'd never had one before and it was a perfect addition to the meal. Wish I'd ordered it to start too. Came here for a Sunday brunch after a graduation celebration. To say the service wasn't great is an understatement, and honestly, it's not the best place for families. During our meal, the drink waitress accidentally dropped two full drinks all over my 4-year-old niece. It was a literal waterfall pouring over her. Her dress was completely drenched, and she was covered in drinks and ice. Her mom also had coffee spilled all over her dress and shoes. Thankfully, we had extra clothes in the car, but it was still a pretty upsetting experience -- especially for a child. Our main waiter did come over and offered 20% off the meals and 3 free desserts for our party of 11. We appreciated that gesture, and the waitress herself seemed genuinely apologetic. We understand accidents happen. However, when we asked to speak with the manager, his response completely changed the tone of the experience. He didn't seem apologetic at all. We explained that we didn't feel 20% off was enough considering what happened, and he responded with, "I don't know how two people getting drinks on them means you all get free meals." I understand that expecting the entire tab to be covered may have been a stretch, but the issue was more about the lack of empathy and customer service. Dining out is about the overall experience, and his tone made the situation worse. He could have simply offered another solution or responded with more understanding. After that interaction, the service noticeably declined. Staff rarely checked on our table, while the manager continued warmly interacting with other guests nearby. The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food itself was actually very good. Unfortunately, the overall experience overshadowed it. read more

A nice place finally in corona! We went for brunch and the food was so good and flavorful. We had the flautas, the savory empanadas and the French toast mascarpone. Everything was so good! Flautas and empanadas had super flavorful meat and the bread part was flaky and baked perfectly. The French toast had crispy edges but then super moist inside, the little milk sauce thing was also a nice touch! Their drinks were also super good and strong. I got the strawberry Margarita and my friends got the guava mocktail but asked for it to be a cocktail so just put well tequila alcohol in it. They liked it too. The vibe and decor is super cute. I was very happy with my experience here. It was my first time dining at Blackstone. The restaurants is a good size with inside and covered patio seating. I was glad to have made reservations because there seemed to be a bit of a wait and there was no shade from the hot sun. The place is clean, modern, and kind of dark inside which was part of the ambience. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. The sever was helpful and efficient as was the supporting staff. My friend and I split the steak and eggs with an added side of avocado and the mascarpone French toast. The skirt steak was pretty good and the eggs were perfectly over easy. The potatoes are very tasty and not over seasoned. The French toast however was killer. I don't normally like french toast but this was delicious. I would definitely return. read more

I came here for brunch, not sure of what to expect. I know it's a relatively new restaurant and wanted to give it a chance. First and foremost, reservations were made for 11:30 am, and they didn't seat us until 11:45 am. I get it, it's busy, but that's the first time that I was seated close to the reservation time. The second, it took them another 10 minutes before a waiter came by to take our order and even then he forgot my drink until I reminded him. The food itself was okay, I got the biscuit, gravy, and eggs. To be fair, the biscuit reminded more of a pancake than an actual biscuit. The hot sauce though - worth it. What a great little restaurant. It's lovely inside and on the small side. It was almost perfect. I'll start with the food: The PAN SEARED SCALLOPS were cooked perfectly! The sauce was surprisingly complimentary, the mashed potatoes were tasty but the asparagus was awful. It had a bitter taste and no seasoning at all. I'd get the broccolini next time. My hubby got the FILLET MIGNON and he was in heaven. He keeps asking to go back every day! We shared the PAN DE ELOTE and it was good, but I wish they would've had another option besides cheesecake. The restaurant is dark, too dark. It's really hard to read the menus. I kept getting blinded by people's cell phone flashlights being used to see the menu. They need to turn up the lights, a tad. I couldn't even see how much salt and pepper I was putting on the unseasoned asparagus they served me. I ended up over seasoning it. The restaurant is pretty small so I can see why you would need reservations. We showed up before they opened on a Sunday and were seated us away without the reservation, but I wouldn't try that on a Saturday or later in the evening! They did have an amazing cook on the scallops and the filet mignon, so I would definitely come back and would love to try some more things because all the plates that the servers were bringing out looked absolutely amazing. I think if you're looking for something with a nice ambiance, this place will be OK for a local option in corona. The second time I came here, I didn't even get napkins for the table. The server never came back to check on us after the initial order. I had to walk inside to request napkins. Also, if you come after their initial morning or afternoon rush, they welcome you with displeasure, almost shocked that you would choose to grace the establishment past 12. Thankfully I just wanted a drink, but I was floored to see them look at me. I got several states snd only one person said hello and offered service. One guy was setting the tables and looked at me with the worst face. The same one who flickered the lights the first time I was there. Honestly so rude and I hope they train their staff on service. It's really not the best here. After three visits I probably won't be coming back again for a while. The only standout thing is their banana latte. From the start, our waiter never introduced himself, which immediately set an impersonal tone. When it came time to pay, the situation got worse. The waiter was extremely rude and unaccommodating when we asked to split the check, making what should have been a simple request feel like an inconvenience. To top it off, despite clearly celebrating a birthday, there was no effort made to acknowledge it. Instead, we were told, "You can pay for a dessert and I can put a candle on it," which felt dismissive and took away from what was supposed to be a special occasion. The order comes with 2 large (and stuffed) enchiladas and a side of rice and beans. My husband tapped out before he finished the plate, the enchiladas were generously filled with chicken.
