Not only does this place sell ALL kinds of alcohol - automatic 5 stars - but it has a little "dugout" type area in the back center of the store and THAT my friends is a tasting room. I stumbled upon this FINE wine tasting room day and for 25 cents had about 12 to choose from AS WELL as cheeses and crackers. When my Dad, sister and I saw that we called my mom (who was at OfficeMax across the parking lot) and she immediately came over and we got our $1 worth. I love Bevmo! Most of the things are cheaper then you would get at a liquor store but about the same price as a grocery store. Of course the buy one bottle of wine get one for a nickel is always great. The other night we save $20 or technically $19.95 considering we had to pay a nickle. LOL They also have the club card which sends you discounts and coupons in the mail. The employees are always helpful when I'm looking for a particular beer, wine or other beverage and I like that the store is also equipped with a bunch of snacks for when your on your way to a party and want to bring some munchies as well. I also like the fact that they have beer and wine tasting. Its a nice little treat and often they are serving something that I have been wanting to try but a little hesitant to spend the money just in case its a flop. read more

Shockingly, on Christmas eve this year, despite long lines and crowds, we received extraordinary service and help picking out a fabulous bottle of cab for my bff's husband. First of all, me writing a review on a store for its liquor collection is like Mitt Romney reviewing the benefits of being married to only one person at a time. That being said, I do, on occasion, have a rare beverage, and for my upcoming Super Bowl party went to BevMo to pick up some "supplies." Most liquor stores in this town are comprised of the following: discordant racks of liquor, dirty floors, customers who look like they just ran out of heroin and owners who look, well, just like the customers! And they're expensive. BevMo tries to make it professional. All the employees wear a standard uniform, the store is clean (and so are the customers, in more ways than one, if ya catch my drift) and lined up nicely, and the prices are cheaper (a six-pack of bottles will be ~$2 less). The selection is pretty good with domestic and foreign "liquid courage" available. For you yuppie guppies and lactose intolerant individuals who wish to punish your guests, they even have a selection of cheese next to the wine. For being able to walk through the store without the fear of stepping on a hypodermic needle, good prices and friendly staff, this place gets 4 stars! I love this BevMo. Not only do they have a really good selection, they are well organized and the customer service is great. I have never come in and not been greeted by someone with a smile. Danielle is my favorite person, she is super friendly and makes me laugh. The only thing that has not been great about my past visits has been my experience at the wine tasting corner. I buy wine here pretty often and was told I should go check out the tasting they were having. My boyfriend and I were greeted with a "are you going to be spending money today" and an up and down look of disgust by the lady who was showing the wines. She reluctantly poured out a sample and sat there and stared at us and asked which bottle we were going to buy. I didn't even try all the samples because I just wanted to get out of there. Now I joke and say I am bred to be a drinker being I am half German and half Irish and if that was the case this would be Heaven. I will have to admit I had never been to a BevMo before today because they did not exist in the parts of the country I lived in and I rarely needed something rare enough that I couldn't get just about anywhere. So this weekend while I was out drinking I came upon a new beverage that I fell i love with and I needed some rare ingredients to make them myself. I checked my local grocer while I was there as well as Trader Joe's in the off chance they had it and had no luck, but someone suggested I check this place. After looking up what and where it was I headed on over. I walked into the brightly lit store that was filled wall to wall with all kinds of adult beverage goodies and went about the task of wandering around like a large child at a candy store. After wandering for awhile I suppose I looked a little lost and a store associate came over to see if I needed any help. I was happy to wander to discover at my own pace so I thanked them and declined their help. I eventually found exactly what I was in for along with a whole bunch of other things I would have loved to have brought home (a few of which I did.) Long story short when they cal this a liquor store they mean it. I have a hard time imagining they don't carry anything that is legal inside the US and if they don't I believe they can get it. The prices are about the same as everywhere else as well with some really great specials. I saw one such special where if you bought one bottle of wine the 2nd bottle was 1 cent and it wasn't rotgut wine. Also the person in line before me was getting their liquor "price matched" to another local stores ad they were showing the clerk on their cellphone. BevMo doesn't have as good of prices as Total Wine, but they have a great selection. I've noticed the inventory differs from location to location, which is good and bad of course. I love when I'm pleasantly surprised by things I've never even heard of. But I wish more beers were sold as individuals-it's hard to commit to a six pack when you've never heard of the beer before. The people are nice that work at this location, but they really need to figure out their reps on the floor helping customers/cashier situation. I don't know how many times in the past month alone that I stood in what I thought was a line, to be told "I can help you over there" (referring to the other side of the register counter). It gets irritating to have to take glasses, and a glass bottle of wine or champagne to walk over to the other side to pay for my items. I got hooked on a Belgian ale recently while on vacation and promptly visited my local BevMo once I got home in an attempt to stock up. The friendly sales associate (I think his name was Javier...all I can remember was that is started with a J) informed me that the beer I was looking for (Kasteel Rouge) was not available in retailers, only restaurants. I left disappointed. To satisfy my curiosity I visited another store in the area and they had the ale on the shelf! Bummer, BevMo. You'll only be satisfying my non-alcoholic needs from now on. This location is always well-stocked. More than I can say for the other locations. We always have trouble finding seasonal or limited production microbrews. Next to driving to the brewery, this BevMo is the next best thing. On the bevmo website, it shows which location has the item in stock. 99% of the time, the only store to have it is this Arden location. When I entered the store a young male with his back to me said sarcastically, "welcome to Bev Mo". I ignored it and went on my merry way. Found ingredients I needed with the assistance of an employee, named Sara. I thanked her, then decided to get myself something to drink as well. Of course I liked the most expensive tequila and it was locked up behind a glass case, an older lady was waiting she seemed a bit lost. I told the older lady I would go get assistance for us both, she thanked me and off I went. Again Sara helped us both then told me, "I will bring the bottle to the register", off I went to the register area. As I approached only one person was present at the check out area, the same young adult who was sarcastic when I entered. Thinking nothing of it I approached, he looked at me for a few seconds then said, "I'll be back". Then left me standing there at the cash register for about 3-5 minutes (it seemed much longer) didn't explain himself just left. He returns, then I ask him, "did you receive a tequila bottle from your co-worker". He looks at me with a blank stare and says with a rude tone, "whats the name of the tequila?" Honestly I was caught off guard by how Rude he was. I tried to remain as calm as possible, but honestly this guy was a jerk. So I took a deep breath and explained to him what Sara his co-worker told me regarding the tequila. Then here comes Sara with the bottle of tequila, he starts to ring everything up and I tell him, "you know, you don't have to be an ass to customers, whatever happened to customer service? Then Sara jumped into the conversation Without Even Knowing how Rude her co worker was being to me and told me she refused me service and to leave. I was beside myself, she sent her co- worker to the back of the store as if I wanted to fight him or have an altercation. (I'm a father of two with a good job, not looking to fight or get arrested ‍.) Then Sara tries to scold me for using the word ass. I told her, ass is not even a bad word and asked her, "is this how you treat your customers"? I told her just ring up my items so I can go, because I wanted to storm out of there but I also didn't want to spend any more of my time shopping (a terrible conundrum). Sara rings up the tequila with an attitude as if I couldn't afford it. I spent over 100.00 at this establishment and got treated HORRIBLY. While walking out of that store I wanted to call my lawyer to discuss a discrimination case against them but as Michelle Obama put it, "when they go low, we go high". We almost had a good experience. Gave two stars for the tasting. Came in for wine and beer and noticed the woman ahead of us had a $10 dollar off coupon. So I asked Brian how we could acquire one. He was short, rude and acted as if we should already know the ins and outs of his job. Really? With disgust and resistance he finally gave us Bevmo card instructions. His overall dismissive undertone was enough for me to walk out. Worst customer service. I called to see if they had a product in stock and I was answered by a VERY RUDE girl who's name was Amber. She rudely said they don't have have that. I asked if they didn't have it or they don't carry the product. I asked to speak to a manager and she hung up the phone on me. I called again and I asked her to let me speak to a manager. Justin (head clerk) got on the phone and stated he didn't know who I was talking to. The manager from this location contacted me directly to apologize for what happened and made me feel very happy and relieved by my experience. The manager apologized on behalf of the other employee and made me feel valuable. I will definitely be coming back. This place is always clean, and they carry a very respectable variety of local and regional craft beers. They also have tastings on Friday Afternoons. This is pretty much my first choice to find craft beer that someone or some website or magazine has told me to try. This place and Whole Foods. There is a wide variety of wine and liquor as well of course, but I am usually in the beer isles. I am a Club Bev cardholder, but that's not really saying much... One thing that bums me out about BevMo is that they only reward their ClubBev cardholders with email discounts attached to large purchases (i.e. Get $10 off if you buy $100 worth of booze, or $25 Off with a $200 purchase). Sure it's a discount that non members don't get, but unless you're a raging alcoholic... You're not really getting any benefit from those mailers. You do, however get ClubBev pricing on their website... So it's not a completely worthless rewards program. Ha! All in all, a great place to find quality beer -- and wine -- and liquor -- and other elixir related stuff. Four stars. I'll be back! read more

I call BevMo Toys R Us for adults. You walk in and you want everything. Great selection of beer, booze and wines, plus cigars, snacks and bar doodads. Prices are good (although the 5-cent sale is a joke--they raise the price on wine when the sale is on, so you get just an OK deal) and the staff is knowledgeable & friendly.
