One of my good friends and I like to get together periodically to catch up, and we always make an effort to catch dinner along the way. During this latest link up, she suggested we check out Bia American Kitchen as she had been here a few weeks prior for an event and had good things to say. I had never heard of this place before, but was excited to check it out - so off we went. Bia is a relatively new restaurant, and is located in Chappaqua Crossing. I remember hearing rumblings about CC in the mid 2010s when I worked in the town, and I have t say they did an excellent job with it. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, as well as residences here which has made it somewhat of a destination in Northern Westchester. Anyway, Bia sits on a corner in the Crossing with ample parking nearby. It has a grand presence from the exterior and and even greater impact after you enter. The space is gorgeous - super high ceilings, a contemporary design, and a fresh color scheme that mixes warm and cool colors; someone put a lot of money into this place and it shows. The restaurant is also huge - the front of the restaurant houses the bar area which then gives way to the main dining room with an additional dining space in the back. As suggested by the name, Bia serves mostly New American fare. The menu is pretty large, with sections dedicated to shareables, apps, salads, handhelds (the trendy new name for sandwiches), and mains. We decided to start out with a drink - I went with the Spiced Roseberry Daiquiri which was just fine. I didn't find it to have a lot of flavor and likely wouldn't order it again. For food, we decided to order a bunch of stuff and share - the vegetable flatbread, black kale and couscous salad (we added salmon to it), lump crab ceviche, and chicken basquaise. All of the food was really good, with my favorite being the crab - super fresh with lots of flavor. The flatbread was solid as was the chicken; the salad was a super large portion - good flavor but the mix of the couscous with the kale left the former a little gloppy/overdone. It was an interesting combination I'm just not sure it works; the grains were also larger than I was expecting. Service was great, everyone was super friendly and all of the food came out at a good pace. Overall, I had a great experience at Bia. Aesthetically speaking they hit it out of the park, and the food was solid (definitely more hits than misses); I would call this restaurant is a standout in Northern Westchester and a welcome addition to the area. I wish the owners the best as they embark on this new venture, and would definitely return for another meal.

A large group from my office went for dinner. They provided a menu specifically for our party with lots of options. We only had one server and he seemed stressed (I get it but he made me stressed! lol). The food was delicious, the portions were generous and everyone was very happy. I would go back next time I am in town.

The food was not good -- the croissant was hard and stale and tasted far from fresh. What was even worse was the service. The white male cashier on the right side had a terrible attitude from the start. He handed me only half of my meal without saying the rest of the order was still coming. When I asked about the remaining portion of my meal, he snapped at me and raised his voice, saying "the rest is coming out" in a very rude and sneering manner. I would have asked to speak with a manager, but I was pressed for time. It's really a shame that some young employees are not trained properly in customer service and basic professionalism. Between the poor quality food and the terrible service, I would never return to this place.

I had a single bare smash burger and it was juicy and flavorful would just want more onions but not complaining. My daughter had the build your own bareburger and also really enjoyed hers. For apps we did the fried pickles I didn't really care for them but my daughter said they were yummy. She had a strawberry lemonade and I had a hibiscus marg it was supposed to be spicy and I was disappointed because it wasn't and a bit too sweet for my taste but not horrible. We will be back when it's a lot warmer and try the outdoor seating.

Our table's orders were correct, but we were one of the few tables left outside by then. Took maybe 30 minutes between ordering to getting our food to table. Outdoors is quite nice when it's a nice day out, but the outdoor tables seem to get forgotten. The truffle wagyu smash burger has basically no truffle flavor whatsoever. I believe they only add truffle salt, so the one bit that had extra salt on it was just salty, not truffle-y. Generally, I personally don't do wagyu burgers since ground meat defeats the purpose of wagyu (also I highly doubt it's real wagyu / it's American not Japanese for the price point). The meat to bread ratio is also off (kind of like eating a McD burger with a puffier potato bread). Honestly I would've enjoyed McD more since it's consistent. We went here because we haven't tried bareburger yet. Plus, just having legit wagyu the night before probably doesn't cut it. Cheesesteak was fine, the meat was juicy but the aioli was the supposedly the same sauce as in the truffle wagyu, but tasted stronger/more pungent. Unfortunately my hubs got food poisoning from the dish -- unsure whether it was the meat or the aioli in it.

Sweet potato fries (5/5): I mis-ordered and the chef was incredibly kind to swap me for these fries instead of their regular salt and pepper. These fries are crispy and fluffy -- absolutely decadent! Beers & Cocktails (5/5): Such a wide variety of drinks! There are several beer types (I'm partial to their very tasty hazy, but their award winning sours are fantastic too). The watermelon mint cocktail with their house vodka is a must-try! Service (5/5): You order at the bars for food and drink (food is separate) but the servers clearing empty glasses are efficient and the food came out quick despite being told the kitchen was backed up.
