Our waiter was slow and not attentive; drinks were good; as for the food, I had the steak w/shrimp and was disappointed that I couldn't really enjoy the steak since the piece I got was all fat and since I wasn't given a steak knife, couldn't get cut the steak and cut out the fat and eat the meat, the shrimp was delicious and the sautéed peppers, the rice was undercooked. Went here tonight with three girlfriends and loved it. Super cute spot with really good food. I had the street corn app and three tacos, and loved that you can get them in lettuce cups instead of shells. My friends got the fajitas and everyone was happy with their meals. The margaritas were fresh and not too strong, and the menu was a good size. Only reason for 4 stars is the service was a bit slow (friendly, but slow). we were there for about 3 hours even though we were only one of 3 tables. Came here for a friend's birthday dinner and it was a nice time. It was a beautiful evening so we sat on the patio, which was awesome. Our server was efficient and kept things moving for us. I had a couple of margaritas and they were good...set the tone perfectly. The chips and salsa they bring out to start were good. I got addicted to the chips immediately! We started with some nachos and other appetizers and the nachos were very tasty. For my entree I selected a steak chimichanga....I used to love chimichangas back when Chi Chi's restaurants were still around and this one was terrific. We had the queso fundido with rajas and guac for appetizers. Guac is very small. Queso fundido was very fresh and tasty. For the main entree I had the shrimp enchiladas with Chipotle cream sauce. The service was very good and ambiance lively. Prices are a little high for Mexican food. read more

Pricey for a pitcher of Hawaiian Punch. For dinner the steak fajitas were recommended but were not tasty at all. They had very little flavor and the steak was grey and not seared. No seasoning at all. Very little additional extras - small amount of blah guacamole, a dollop of sour cream and a small diced up cherry tomato. When hostess asked about the food (most of which was left) she was advised that it was bland, tasteless and had no flavor. . There was no apology nor any attempt to adjust bill. We are very happy to have Casa Tequila in our town, as finding a good Mexican restaurant in Westchester is not as easy as one would think. Casa Tequila serves up solid, flavorful dishes, and cocktails that hit all the points one would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Service is exceptionally prompt, welcoming, and friendly and they offer a large menu of different traditional and not so traditional Mexican and South American dishes. We started with their fresh guacamole and complimentary chips which are served with both a tomato salsa and a black bean dip. The guacamole was made with ripe and creamy avocados and was topped with a large heaping of pico de gallo. While the guacamole was very fresh and tasty, we did wish that there was some heat, as it appeared that jalapenos were absent from both the guacamole and the pico, which were missed. My wife also had a cocktail, the Pepinada, which she reported was delicious. For dinner we had the shredded chicken enchiladas mole and birria tacos. The enchiladas had a generous serving of mole sauce on top with some melted cheese and some plantains. The shredded chicken inside was very tender and flavorful, as it always is in the variety of dishes it appears in including their quesadillas which are also quite good. The mole sauce has a great authentic mole flavor, but I wouldn't mine a little more spiciness. The birria tacos were delicious and served appropriately with consomme. The meat was very tender as well. Tacos are served with both a salsa verde and habanero salsa brought to the table. Both salsas were very tasty and the habanero in particular provided plenty of kick. Prices at Casa Tequila are a bit of a mixed bag, the Birria Tacos at $16 were pretty reasonable like most of the tacos, the chicken enchiladas at $27 feels a little on the high side, and entrees like arroz con pollo at $29 is a bit excessive. It is a beautiful restaurant inside, with quality food, and it is in Armonk so I wouldn't exactly call it sticker shock though. Casa Tequila is a great Mexican restaurant in town, and probably one of the better ones in the area. We will continue to enjoy their food for both dine-in and take out. read more

No. very no for us. We called ahead to see if we could dine with our pup on the outdoors patio. The fellow we spoke with gave us an enthusiastic yes! When we showed up, the snarky, mean faced hostess (who was not at her stand and whom we patiently waited for, for some time), gave us the once over and told us they could not accommodate us. (We have a well behaved, medium sized black pup.) Take it as you like, but discriminate against our pup and we're done. We stop in Armonk often and tend to gravitate towards lovely meals at dog-friendly Meraki (also fabulously foodie and human child friendly) and Fortuna. Guess we'll stick with those. read more

The thing is, the food was good - but the prices are really high and it is so loud you can't hear yourself think. When Mariachi's was closed next door, we came here for dinner. And while the atmosphere is adorable and a million times more welcoming than Mariachi's, the food is half as good. Very average guacamole, mahi mahi tacos, and even frozen margarita. Everyone who works there though is the sweetest! But nothing compares to Mariachi's which is off-the-charts good. read more

Everything about our visit was fantastic. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were 2 couples and the host quickly decided to change our table away from a large party with small children. Hispanics beware. Don't expect authenticity with the tacos here. We tried every single taco they had here. The seasoning is sub-par and light-handed, and most of the protein they make is hammered and overcooked. The only good one was the chicken. The carnitas were absolutely disappointing - not sure you can call your food Mexican if you don't even know how to make carnitas. The rice and beans aren't good either, the beans are bland and the entire thing lacks depth and salt. The ceviche was purely offensive. It tasted like they mixed in a dose of ibuprofen - So bitter and the shrimp tasted off. Lacks salt. So all in all I spent $70 and got $8 worth of food I'd actually enjoy. No love in this food, and it most certainly didn't taste like a hispanic brother or sister made it. Never going back. read more

For appetizers, we had the tostadas and plantano maduro. The tostadas were overly greasy but the plantains were fine. We also had 3 orders of tacos: carnitas, al pastor, and birria. The carnitas and al pastor were fine. The birria was, well, trying too hard. It's short rib, which is naturally fatty, but it was combined with cheese among other ingredients and served in a double shell which appeared to be pan fried as well. This simply didn't work. The atmosphere was nice, though, indoors is quite loud between the music and the noise from the bar. The table service was fantastic. In the end, not a bad place for drinks and small bites in but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. read more

Went to this restaurant one time and they brought my husband the wrong type of taco. My husband isn't one to complain so I told them that they delivered the wrong meal but he was willing to eat what he was given. No compensation whatsoever, nor a visit from the manager. Revisited this establishment for happy hour drinks a few months later. I ordered the house margarita and asked the bartender if I could choose what kind of tequila. The bartender said yes, so I ordered a house margarita with an Anejo tequila. I was charged the happy hour price and was pleasantly surprised that one could order a house margarita off of the happy hour menu and pick the tequila. A few weeks later I went back for happy hour and ordered the same house margarita and anejo tequila. This time I was charged an up charge for the Anejo tequila. I asked to speak to the manager about the pricing since this time I was charged a lot more for the same margarita. The manager basically called me a liar, and told me that the restaurant would never charge me the happy hour price for a specialty tequila, and that there was nothing he could do about the bill. Don't get me wrong, the drinks and food are not bad, but management is clearly just trying to collect their dollar and not do what's right for the customer. read more

The presentation of the food looked lovely. The presentation was nothing like the photos and the food quality was not good at all. We ate very little of the food and left it to be trashed. The pricing was totally different on the website with the entrees being $7.00++ than stated online. We sat at the bar. There were happy hour prices for the drinks that we didn't know about, however the drinks were good. They probably make most of their money with happy hour 4-7, because other than that, thumbs down. Last night was my first time here and it was disappointing. Portions were very small but the prices weren't. Drinks had the same issue; full price but small glasses with lots of ice. Had the steak burrito and I am still looking for the steak among all of the rice. Lots and lots of rice! Also has the carnitas which were small as well and very soupy. Tortilla chips were thin and not home made. Food was ok but not "gourmet" and very mediocre from a "boutique" Mexican restaurant.
