I've eaten here a few times now. It's your basic "turo-turo" (point-point) Filipino spot where you choose from the different dishes they have sitting out. This can be good and bad. It's good if you go earlier in the day when all the food has just come out fresh and hot. It's bad if you go later in the day when it's closing time, and most of the good food is already gone and whatever is left is getting cold since it's been sitting out for a while. I stopped by once again yesterday after some grocery shopping. My friend and I both ordered a 2-item combo meal. He ordered lechon (roasted pig) and bangus (milkfish) and rice. I ordered kare-kare (oxtail stew) with rice and pancit palabok (noodles in golden shrimp sauce). Everything was good! I cleaned off my place, so I was pretty full when I was finished. Two things I am a fan of here: chicken skins and sago. The cleanliness of this place is not really up to par. But what do you expect at a Filipino restaurant/buffet typa place? Basically every time I walk in here, there are plenty of tables, but a few of them have dirty plates they haven't been picked up yet. The selection that they provide ranges from grilled tilapia to lechon kawali to adobo to nilaga... and surprisingly silogs. They always have a lot of different dishes that look super fresh and not sketch. The food is okay. But what is good food with a dirty atmosphere? The ordering is pretty simple. You line up, tell them what you want as you walk down the line, and then you pay at when you get all your food. The prices are fairly cheap. To be honest, this wouldn't be my first choice for lunch if I was in the area. I would probably go to Chow King or Jollibee. But! If you want authentic Filipino food instead of a bucket of fried chicken then by all means, head over here. But please, do yourself a favor and don't leave without chicken skins. read more

A gold mine in Vallejo. I really love this place. I came here when it first opened. It was good then and good now. Very consistent. However I've also watched the price of their food also increase, but that's understandable. They have almost every Filipino food dish thinkable. To name a few: sisig, lechon, pancit, palabok, inihaw, kare-kare, pusit, and many soups. All the food here is good. You can get a combo plate for about 4 bucks. But If you'd like a la carte they have that too. They have small$3.50, medium$5, and large $10. However these prices are subject to change. It's nice to be able and eat Filipino food. But she loves her rice so we went here. This spot is located inside Seafood City. I'd call this place a cafeteria before I'd call it a restaurant. You basically get your tray and point at what you want which is very similar to Panda Buffet. They have a huge selection of dishes to choose from, at least 15 choices. I wasn't sure what everything was but I ordered rice and 2 sides, their combination plate. It was good. For 4 plates the total came to $18, so it's priced very competitively. I'd much rather go here than Goldilocks which is another Filipino turo-turo (point-point) type joint. It could be cleaner. Sisig, b-stek, mechado, lechon kawali, sinigang, mungo, are some of my favs. I would have given 5 stars but they need to redo the bathrooms. Bathroom is old and dingy. It would even be better if they had separate ones for men & woman. It was awful, and I didn't want to use it. It a typical "turo-turo" - - lots of items to choose from. Since we already had a bunch of food to take with us on our trip, we decided just to try a couple of items - - tortang talong (eggplant) and bistek tagalog. Awesome deal for Filipino breakfast! I just had their Corned beef silog and it was decent. Can't complain too much for the price; it did the job and I'm full. They have a lot of selections and they looked good. My uncle said he likes their Palabok so maybe I'll try it next time if I'm ever in the area again. Aesthetically, the food seems very inviting. But after I've eaten their fare, I will recommend that you don't try this place. The restaurant took over the old Max's Restaurant aka Max's of Manila aka Max's Fried Chicken. The restaurant is turo-turo style or cafeteria type buffet. Everything looked yummy. I ordered 4 fried hasa hasa (fish), fried whole small squids, pork sisig, ginataang langka, pork and chicken bbq qq(kabab) and bibingka. You know that film inside the squid? It's lazy and disgusting to not remove that. The sisig? It's not sisig when it's just fried pork that's all chopped up. That's chopped fried pork, not sisig. The langka? The jackfruit should be bite size not the size if a third of a donut. The taste on everything was mediocre at best. Don't go. Waste of time, money, and space. read more

I only come here when I absolutely don't have time to cook and want Filipino food besides Jollibee and the only reason I go here over Grill City is because they have pancit malabon since it's my favorite pancit. But everything else in their menu, I can make a lot better. But the real reason for the one star is because of my recent visit. As a Filipino myself, I get that we like to communicate with each other as if we are family or friends so sometimes we get comfortable with how we speak to each other, even in a customer service setting. But that does not mean you can disrespect your customers no matter what or who they are or how much purchase they made. I could make a purchase for a single candy for 0.25 cents but that doesn't make one customer less important than someone who buys the whole menu. So I came here to buy a cantaloupe drink because my mom had requested it. There was no line and one of the ladies working there so me but did not acknowledge me until I went up to her. So then she gets my drink, but another woman is in charge of the cash register. So this woman rings me up, I gave her cash but this other douchebag customer cuts in to buy a fried fish. The cashier attended to his business before finishing up with my business. Then she had the audacity to rudely ask me "what do you need?" in Tagalog, and I responded with "my change." I think she just realized that she just charged the guy for the fish with the price of my drink which is cheaper than the fish. And while my change was only 3 cents, it was the principle that she lacked knowledge of customer service. Crispy pata is bomb with the Mang Tomas sauce and beef caldereta with rice. Sisig is good too not hella oily. Definitely one of the best Filipino fast food in Vallejo. read more

Dj is located within the Seafood City complex and serves authentic home cooked style Filipino food. A typical asian whole in the wall so don't expect too much. They have tons of choices to choose from included the traditional items such as lechon, adobo, menudo, lumpia,and fried talapia. A combo plate with 2 items is under $5! and they give you a side of house soup of the day. What they also have here is deep fried chicken skin, i thought it was gross until i tried it, but it was actually good with some vinegar. The combo meal here at the $6 fits that description perfectly. My favorites includes their version of "Bicol Express", Bistek, Diniguan, and the Lechon.
