I went to look up the value of a Schwinn Sierra 700 limited edition bicycle. I absolutely could my locate a single value even listing for Schwinn period. No Schwinn at all. I find this just absurd considering there one of the longest running bike makers. This is like the blue book for cars not having Chrysler or Pontiacs. Massive fraud, would leave no stars if possible. They falsely advertised and sold me a 2020 model year bike under the cover of it being a 2022 model year. The worst part is they priced it as a 2022, and overcharged me several hundred dollars based on the bike actually being two years older. I hadn't heard of BicycleBlueBook.com until recently and really wanted to believe all the positive reviews. I sent them an offer online on what they advertised as a 2022 Specialized Sirrus 3.0 hybrid bike. We agreed on a price (based on assumption it was a 2022) and I sent the payment on Mar 9th. Worth mentioning the price I paid was based on their "value guide" for a 2022 model year. I picked the bike up in person at this fulfillment center on Mar 11 and noticed the box had a label that said it was a 2020 model year (all bikes are disassembled and boxed up). I immediately questioned the rep and he assured me that was a mistake when they printed the label. He then showed me a screen on his computer system showing that the serial number for the bike coincided with a 2022 model year (I'm glad I took a photo of their screen which I'm including with this review). Based on other great reviews, I felt I could trust them, so I took the bike home with me in the unopened box. It was only when I got home and inspected the bike, that I found that the same serial number that was on their screen was stamped on the bike, but the manufacture date was 2020! I'm including a photo of the serial number with manufacture date on the bike I received with this review. I live about 150 miles away from their fulfillment center, so not only was this a huge waste of time, wear and tear on my car, and gas-money, but I also feel the reason why they misled me was because the 2020 model has been recalled due to safety issues with the cranks due to fall and injury hazards. If you try calling their number like I have repeatedly to address this matter, all you'll get is a voicemail message with no option to leave a message. At this point my only recourse is to file a complaint with my credit card company and have them see if they can contact them to sort this all out. I would not buy another bike from this company and would not recommend them to anyone. Don't walk, run away! read more

Bicycle Blue Book is like a candy store for cyclist enthusiasts like myself. I found them on the internet researching for electric bikes. I love cycling, and I Iove it even more when I take our pawkids with us. However, towing my two dogs, the big one weighing in at 150lbs, the little one at 25lbs, plus the converted dog trailer's weight, my bike's weight, my weight, this has put stress on my lower back. I decided and after saving money for this purchase, it was time to upgrade to an EBike!! If you didn't know about Bicycle Blue Book, you would never find them which is why I want to share their location. Bicycle Blue Book is located on 880 South. From 101 North/South, the exit is Brokaw. They are next to all the business warehouses. They have tons of bike selections. Probably the biggest I've seen compared to other bike shops. They are all used bikes, but almost all of the bikes I saw looked pretty clean and looked almost new. Bicycle Blue Book sells everything from road bikes to mountain to touring, to ebike. You will find known brands like Santa Cruz, Raleigh, Trek and Cannondale just to name a few. They also sell kids bikes at very reasonable cost, under $100. Most are very current bikes ranging from year 2015 on up. You can even test drive before you buy. Prices are negotiable, and you can even ask your price for a bike that you like on their website. But, I think the best service Bicycle Blue Book provides to buyers like myself is piece of mind. They even offer a 30 day guarantee. It beats having to shop at Craigslist where I found, prices for an ebike are outrageously high. Lastly, I want to share that my experience here was fantastic. I got so excited that apologies for not getting his name, provided me a phenomenal service. He even helped bring my bike to my car and loaded it up. What a great service! I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a bike you can test drive, and looking for great quality bikes with good prices that won't break your bank and offer you excellent service. PS - I'll update you later how I'm enjoying my new ebike, the 2017 IZip Pro Tour which comes with Cobi technology package. It even has an alarm built in. I found a unique bike on their site that was just what I was looking for. It was listed "as-is". I studied the photos carefully and couldn't see anything that looked like a red flag, so I purchased it. I had to wait until Monday to pick it up at their warehouse, and the nightmarish descriptions in a couple of reviews stressed me as I waited. Fortunately, the bike was waiting for me when I arrived, packed pretty carefully (carboard around the frame tubes and handlebars, a plastic protector for the disc on the front wheel (which was taken off for packing), disc brake spacers as needed to protect the hydraulic system, etc. I assembled it in the parking lot in maybe 30 minutes with some tools I brought. The last piece I was going to attach, the rear derailleur hanger, had broken in transit, and Scott at BBB was really helpful -- they took care of it very quickly. The folks here seem to like bikes and enjoy seeing them come together. Helping connect people to a broader used bike market is a great service. I now have a better bike than I have ever owned, and I'm very satisfied with the experience. read more

They shipped a bike I purchased from Blue Book and arrived as described and well packed

I found the bike I had been looking for on Bicycle Blue Book's website. I purchased it directly from their warehouse after doing my research and seeing that BBB values each bike and has a certified bike technician inspect each bike it sells, which gave me some reassurance. I received my bike on or around the 16th of January and immediately noticed some dents, dings, and a stripped top tube bolt, all of which were not shown in any of the online photos or mentioned in the description. The stripped top tube bolt made the bike unusable as the steering was loose and could not be tightened. There was also a missing DI2 charger valuing $200 that was to be included with my purchase. I contacted Bicycle Blue Book and they seemed eager to help resolve my issue; They initially did take care of the bill for the charger and refunded $50 towards the cosmetic damages, which was not enough but I settled. Now a week and a half into my purchase I've received my new bar, stem, seat, wheels and have decided to give my new bike a wash before installing the new components. I noticed that the water was a bit dark even though the bike was not very dirty and the chain, crank, derailleur were removed for the wash. Upon washing the rear of the bike beneath the seat post, I noticed these cracks becoming visible stretching from about 2 inches above the bottom bracket to about 2inches below the seat post. The cracks range from 9-11 inches long. I haven't been in contact with the Bicycle Blue Book yet as I'm on the east coast and 3 hours ahead but I'm very upset. I've spent a lot of money on parts specific to this bike to fix and upgrade it. But besides the cash, I could have gotten seriously hurt if I were to ride this bike in the state it was sold to me. carbon fiber frame damage of this scale should have been unsellable. read more

I purchased a bike from them sold "as is". the bike i received was not the bike pictured in the posting but it was the same make, model and year and in good condition...it needed a thorough cleaning to look same as new... would i buy from again? Start to finish transaction was really smooth. Picked up bike, took bike out of car and kid was ridding it in 30 seconds. Tires were in good shape. Major components like brakes, shifters, derailers, crank work as expected. Purchased a 21 speed, 9 year old, 24" Diamondback bike for $50. Great deal cause kid's going to grow out of it in a few years. Really no need to buy something new. Love how this solution is so green. read more

Trade-in program is a sham. Submitted for it, then just got endless excuses and a bad attitude via email regarding why they didn't do what they promised (or anything at all for that matter). I bought a bike from them based on online pictures alone and that was definitely a risk. Those bikes are sold as is with no refunds/no returns. You cannot look at them or try them beforehand. My bike needed quite a bit of tuning and replacement/missing parts. Their price was good and I came out ok because I do the work myself, but don't be fooled by their online prices. You'll need to spend more to fix them up before you can ride them. On the positive side, transaction was smooth and salesperson courteous. Their pickup hours are not the best. read more

Ignore the negative reviews. Their website marketplace allows others to post and sell their bikes using payment methods such as PayPal. I bought something from one of these sellers and it turned out to be a scam, but I informed paypal who recovered the funds. Might take a while, but using PayPal has protections, which is probably by BBB allowed this payment method. It isn't their fault that lowly people scam others. This business has since removed the ability for sellers to list and accept paypal as payment perhaps due to many scams. They changed courses, which is great and does not reflect on their diligence and professionalism. Every worker I have encountered has been nothing short of great and well informed. (A word of caution when ordering from their site: the site is set up as a marketplace, and I suggest only buying items from BBB, not from private sellers: I tried to buy 3 different bikes from private sellers and they were all scams). When buying directly from BBB, the staff has been friendly and helpful and their bikes have been at least as good as described online, sometimes much better. I give them 2 thumbs up. read more

I am now seeing my account deactivated by them with no dialog from them. There was no asking me to change something or informing me of any problem. I would only buy from them if it's a bike in their possession. In the last 3 weeks I have attempted to buy 3 different bikes from private sellers on the site. All 3 have flaked and then I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. Bicycle blue book itself really doesn't respond to emails and says that they can't help you with disputes. The site lacks seller ratings and any kind of accountability for the seller. You're really just hoping they send you what you bought. I definitely would not use this site ever again. read more

Last experience has been terrible as I have been cheated for 1.700 USD by a fake seller on the site. In short - only buy BBB direct bikes and avoid the other categories! It made the used bike buying process easy and they allowed me to negotiate by way of offers and counter offers on their web site. I was able to purchase my dream bike, a Trek Emonda SLR Project One RSL bike and have it in my garage inside of 5 days. I did pick up the bike in person at their San Jose warehouse so getting the bike home was easy as they are located about 18 miles away. The bike looks brand new and it was tuned up and adjusted before I picked it up. After a few short rides, this bike is amazing. it is light, fast and looks great. I recommend these guys if you are looking for a used high end road bike. My sincere thanks to the staff for making the buying and pick-up process painless. I just received the bicycle I bought from bicycle Blue book, it was poorly packaged and damaged. The rear derailleur is completely bent and can not be repaired. It was bent down until it interfered with the spokes. It's missing a brake pad on the front and there wasn't any packaging between the frame and the front wheel. The paint on the frame is badly scratched. When I went to their website to leave them a message I couldn't submit. Their contact protocol did not work at all. read more

After the purchase BBB left it up to me to deal with the seller due to it being a PayPal transaction. My money is now tied up pending a review by PayPal. I've purchased two used aluminum road bikes from them and been very satisfied with what I got for my money. The first bike I purchased via eBay was already assembled, but needed a front wheel trued. The second bike I purchased in the store was in pieces, but came together easily with tools I had at home. I bought a bike on Bicycle Blue Book .com or so i thought. They had the bike labeled as a "best buy." It was a scam. I felt I had been had when I saw the foreign name the PayPal money went to, and immediately filed a claim with PayPal. The seller responded according to PayPal, that I sent money for has family, and they are reviewing and will make a decision after three weeks. In the meantime I am out $1535.00. I consider myself pretty good at recognizing scams but because it was on their site and even had it labeled as a best buy I thought it had to be legitimate. I was wrong. Purchased a bike on their website that was listed in excellent condition. Paid for shipping and the bike was delivered fairly quickly. When the bike arrived, it was good condition; the wheels needed to be serviced, a front-wheel spoke needed to be replaced, there were paint scratches on the frame, and cosmetic signs of use all throughout the bike and the components. In other words, it was in good working order if the wheels were fixed. To be fair, it could have been cleaned, polished, serviced, and listed in very-good condition; still not excellent condition. On three separate occasions, I was asked if I was okay paying for the original "excellent condition" price if the wheels were fixed by a local bike shop. Professionally speaking, the difference in price between a good condition and an excellent condition bike, in this case, is approximately $500 - $750. Knowing that, I made it a point to return the bike since BBB doesn't appear to list bikes correctly on their website, doesn't appear to value their bikes according to actual condition, and does not appear to value a customer's time, energy, and resources. On multiple occasions they attempted to overcharge and they also attempted to take my time as a buyer to fix a problem that should have been listed in the beginning. In order to get a refund, I was required to ship the bike back to BBB. This is no small task! It took approximately 5-hours to get the bike, build the bike, contact BBB about the actual condition of the bike, print a return label, put the bike back in a bicycle box, and take the bike to the local UPS store. At this time, BBB has had the bike in their possession for over 72 hours as the tracking information clearly states. However, BBB has reached out to me to confirm they have received the bike and/or to initiate a refund. In this situation, this is an ongoing two-week process where a buyer is being withheld thousands of dollars and is being placed in a position where the buyer can no longer actually buy a bike. In other words, they are being held responsible for BBB's inability to list a bike's actual condition and being held responsible for this company's unwillingness to provide a timely refund. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there as a buyer. For the next 5 - 7 business days, after BBB eventually issues a refund, the refund will still have to process back to the original payment method. That said, this appears to be a near 3-week to a month-long issue that BBB created right from the start. All this comes from someone who the bike was a great fit for... Was really the right buyer for the bike... A person who was really interested in making it work... So, let's take it one step further after the refund is process and the buyer buys another bike and has it shipped... We're looking at a near 5-week lose that this company created. Meanwhile, I've been given no signs from BBB that any of what I just wrote in this paragraph actually matters. read more
