I purchased a mountain bike from Marcos. He wasn't very attentive and kept assisting someone else while it was my turn. He was very suspicious when I asked to use the restroom. You think after spending $2000, a customer could use the urinal. He kept saying, "I wouldn't go in there, it's a mess". It was not, he lied.... I paid for my bike and he said twice he would deliver by 8pm, or a little later if he had to close the store late. I waited until 9pm. There was no delivery, no voicemail, no email..... Where's my bike? Where's my purchase? The next day Marcos called, said that he FORGOT, he states, "You have to forgive me". You don't demand forgiveness after messing up. You ask, like professionals....! Needs training/ improvement. On a plus note, next day I received the bike before 8pm. He thanked me for the email feedback....HA! read more

Great experience!! It's been a while since I hopped on a bike, so I was a little intimidated to go into a shop I've never been to. It was a great experience from start to finish. Marcos made me feel truly comfortable and answered all questions I had. He walked me through the bikes styles, gave some great advice on trails/apps to use and I walked out a happy customer with a brand new Liv Hybrid Bike. Loving it so much, I decided to bring in my old Diamond Back to get it fixed up as well. They did a great job and it's like brand new! Marcos is a rock star! This store is horrible. I live in Chula Vista and would rather drive all the way to the Pacific Beach location than go here. When I was looking to purchase my bicycle the only way Carlos would give me a deal is if I bought a new set of tires(for a brand new bike) got the tubeless conversion and bought pedals. Even though I told him from the start I only wanted the bike and pedals. When he finally picked up on the fact that I wasn't going to budge he told me he'd have to charge me $15 to install the pedals. I walked out the door and drove to the PB location and got the bike and pedals I wanted for about $500 cheaper than the "deal" Carlos was offering me. Way to blow a $2300.00 sale buddy. The service and staff at the PB location is light years ahead of these guys, don't waste your time... read more

Don't get your bike serviced here!..UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING RIPPED OFF. I brought my giant trance X4 mountain bike in for service, a rear brake pad change and to replace 2 broken spokes in the rear tire. The salesman grabs bike, throws it up on the stand and does a five minute inspection. He then proceeds to tell me that it's going to cost $650 to service my bike. According to him I need new brake lines, my shocks need to be rebuilt, on top of what I asked for and the bike is "unsafe to ride" unitill the shocks are rebuilt. He then mentions that I can trade in the bike for a brand new one and offers me a whopping $24 for it.......i paid $1200 for it new from them back in 2012... I'm not stupid I knew that were just trying to sell me a new bike so I took it to another bike shop to get a second opinion. The other shop told me my shocks are perfectly fine ( and there the only authorized shock rebuilder in San Diego) I don't have brake lines I have hydraulic brakes and they just need to be bled, the rear pads cost $15 and a tune-up cost about 60 bucks, each of the rear spokes that are broken are a dollar each my total bill out the door is under $100 and the bike rides like new. I bought 5 bikes from Bicycle Warehouse since 2012, they tried to scam and or take advantage of me on this visit. I will never set foot in that store again. read more

Even though they were very very busy they didn't rush me at all. They help me find just the right bike for me. It is extremely rare to get this kind of service nowadays and I really appreciated it. It's been a while since my fiance and I came here... and I still want to give it one star. Why? False information. If you want the truth about what you're buying, and how it's assembled, don't come here. Long story short, my fiance and I wanted the bikes they had. We took them on a trial run and a tire was flat. That shouldn't happen, and should've been the first sign they don't pay attention to detail. Still, we wanted the bikes so we had them bring in the proper size. We kept getting told when they'd be there, but it kept changing... Lots of calls later when the bikes came in, we bought them. We took them on ONE ride and they basically fell apart. When we brought them back, it was not a pleasant experience. They had no clue what went wrong (poor assembly and focus to detail).... so we were explaining what happened and the employees kept contradicting themselves and blaming exterior factors. They said they could fix the bikes, but we figured they'd just give them back with another issue because they kept lying and changing what they said. On top of that, they told my fiance we'd likely have to pay a fee to return them because there was a scratch where his bike fell apart in the middle of the street... one tiny cosmetic scratch. That's NOT customer service. On top of that, paying for the bikes and returning the bikes was a fiasco. I don't recommend coming here if you want a bike that's properly assembled. So... Pros? They gave us beer when be bought the bikes. Cons? Everything else. read more

They called me eight days later and said they have to order the spokes and it would be 7-9 more days. I told them I want to pick up the wheel and take it somewhere else and they told me that it is not there and it would talk until tomorrow noon to get it back. I took it to another place on el Cajon blvd and they had it ready in four days without the indifferent attitude and at half the cost they wanted! read more

Whoever owns this shop needs to coach his sales people, or send them to sales school. I just finished buying a $400 bicycle to keep in San Diego to share with my friend's young boys. I had sent an older bike to her that broke a shifter in transit. I brought said bike with me to leave for repairs. Sales guy, Luis, says $29 for parts, I think Cool, I'll glady pay 1-1.5 hours to have it put on. Sales guy says we have to give it a 50 point inspection and it needs new forks and a new rear hub, "you should just buy another bike" You can't just fix the shifters? No. I'm guessing maybe for liability reasons??. Like he thinks its so rusty this kid will ride it, crash and sue them. And suggest I donate it to some kids in Africa. Holy Sh*t! REALLY????, it's not that bad! Well my friend found a private bike guy that fixed everything AND got the rust off, with a DAY turn around. How pathetic. I really felt like returning the brand new bike I just bought, I was so pissed off. No worries guys, you want me to go elsewhere, I WILL! Gilbert greeted me about 10 minutes after I walked in and I told him what I wanted. He showed me a few models and explained the pros/cons. I found the one I really liked and he offered 15% off, which was great. I'm still undecided but I appreciated the attention and excellent information. Would leave less stars if possible. They price gouge you in repairs and they have no ability to call and discuss issues with your bike in for repairs. They respond days later to emails which is the only way to communicate when you bike is in for repairs. Not a trusted shop and if you care about your bike look elsewhere. read more

I bought a Performance Hybrid Bike from this place last June, and decided to buy 2 more bikes less than 2 months later - one for my daughter and a carbon road bike for myself. The aftersales visit and experience were horrible; as if I was invisible walking around inside the store. Even the same sales person who sold me the first bike just nodded from a distance, and did not bother to ask what I need even if he was not doing anything. So I ended up going elsewhere and buying a $400 bike, a Trek MT220 for my daughter, and a $2,800 Trek Madone 4.7 for myself. I will never recommend this, or go back to this place! read more

When you want to talk to an employee about an item or a bike or service they are very knowledgable and very helpful. I spent hours researching bikes, but since the mandatory shelter in place, so was everybody else. I had bought a mountain bike through an online retailer just to be told they made an inventory mistake and couldn't honor my order. I went back to square one during these crazy times with nearly every bike shop having no to little inventory. Because of the extra time to make a sound choice, I realized that a hybrid bike was the best for my needs. Due to the massive increase in demand, I created a short list. Lo and behold, Bicycle Warehouse had the Giant Roam 2 in stock *angels sing* I quickly used their online chat to confirm fit and immediately placed an order. Debbe reached to confirm my pick up location and then Marcos called from the shop a few days later to let me know the bike was ready for pick up. In case you want to go visit them, they were only allowing two people at a time (call ahead to confirm this is still the case). I got to say, this is one of my best purchasing experiences. I'm sure the make thousands of dollars (my bike alone was very expensive)and they can't even provide that for a customer . Second the customer service is probably the worst we have ever experienced the guys are so rude and don't make you feel welcome , it's like they want you to leave. I haven't been to the store for some time and decided to go to the store with my husband to meet with Marcos. I usually go to him because he did my bike fitting and also made sure my bike was good to go. I recently got new cleats and road shoes and wasn't sure if was fitted right or if it needed an adjustment. Anyways we went there and he was very professional and helped me get my shoe fitted right. (I had mountain bike shoes on before since I commuted a lot.) He also inspected my bike and made it looked new. Earlier in the day I went on a ride with a group and I heard my chain squeaking and he also looked at my chain and made sure it didn't squeak. I also had questions in regards to upgrading parts of my bike and he suggested the rims would be the biggest difference. He also explained why and it made since because I went to another bike store before and it wasn't as in depth of an explanation. The next time I visit I'll be sure to see if his there to help me again. He is a wealth of knowledge in the field of bikes and it's always great to know that my bike will be in good hands. Went in ... asked for reasonably priced mountain bike. Was directed to the area and left alone to browse, which I prefer. Mark told me he would be available nearby to answer any questions I had. I found a bike I liked at a price I liked. Mark pulled it out, pumped the tires and let me take it for a test. It was great. I liked it and I bought it. There was no "upsale" attempt, no "add this or that" pitch. Mark simply asked if I needed anything else. He gave me a quick indoc, answered all my questions, and I was out the door. read more

I took in my bike(not in the best shape) to get pricing on their repair services. My 2011 giant reign x1 apparently had some custom parts that they were not familiar with. Aside from their advice to switch out custom parts back to factory conditions to make bike "safe" to ride, they tagged along a hefty $1000 +estimate. There were some services that they could have done but chose not to because they wanted to leave my bike 100%. In their own words they said they wouldnt work on my bike if they didnt service the whole thing. Travis was awesome at helping me out with the service until his boss Mark showed up. He said you wouldnt go to a tire shop to change a tire and then not ask them to fill it up with air. He clearly was instigating. I Understood from there they didnt want to service me. I Did call him a D ick in his face. Hope noone gets same type of service from him. read more

I went in there not knowing anything about road bicycles and the sales guy by the name of Richard asked me a few questions about my riding projective. He brought out 4 bikes and let me ride each one. The first 2 bikes were aluminum but had different components and the last 2 were carbon, again with different components. He was very honest, wasn't pushy and very knowledgeable during the whole process. You are buying something pretty expensive so don't expect to pull the trigger right away, esp if you seriously getting into this sport. I came back 3 weeks later after doing my own research on what kind of road bike I wanted, how much my budget allowed me and low and behold, Richard was there to help answer any of my questions I had. He also got me offcially fitted (not very comfortable if you have used this contraption before) and hooked up the gear. Unfortunately my frame size wasn't there but they managed to transfer the bike I bought, in my frame to the store. The guy in parts, Ulysses, is a bit of a talker but very cool once you talk to him more. haha All in all, if you have questions don't be afraid to ask. If you are just browsing, they give you plenty of room to look, touch etc. If you want to ride a bike, simply ask them. How would they know what you are thinking if you don't ask anybody. They don't work on commission so don't expect a salesman to flood you like you would at a car dealership!! read more

First time buying a bike from a bike store. I had a great experience. They knew their bikes and made recommendations. I needed a weekend bike for riding on the road and maybe some dirt and they recommended a hybrid bike. He was very helpful and attached all the additional components I bought. They let me test out the bike in their massive parking lot in the back. Just be careful I was bitten my mosquitos there. lol read more

Well had the need to get my folding Dahon bike some new tires, which are just super bald. So went here on Sunday and ordered them as I waited for my car's AC to be serviced, but more on that one in my next review. As for the store, opens kind of late for a bike shop, but at least they are open on Sundays...but they open at 11am. Pretty ok customer service, and good selection of bike and bike related products. Lots of bikes, and even one folding bike too. Mostly Giant brand bikes, but i think i saw a couple of other brands as well. But definitely a lot of accessories for sale here. As for my visit, they didn't have my tire size on hand, but they were willing to order it for me, and it should come in tomorrow if everything goes as planned. Apparently my size tires are not something most places have on hand, 20" x 1.50" is just a standard size for folding bikes, but not one most bike shops have. So nice place to go if you are in or around Chula Vista, and need some bike parts or accessories, well bikes too for that matter. read more
