I've been a long-term customer of Tenafly Bicycle Workshop (TBW) and seen it transform from when Kevin and Shepard took it over many years ago. Over all the years, I've never experienced anything but great customer service. Recently, I decided to get a Seven custom Titanium gravel bike and worked through TBW. Kevin took meticulous measurements in their fit study (which actually helped me refine my position on my road and mountain bike) and then worked with Seven on the design. Both Seven and TBW were super responsive throughout the build process. Kevin was incredibly helpful by shortening the delivery time by a good 2 weeks: Seven was still waiting for the wheels (i9's). These currently have an 8-week turn-around. Kevin managed to source them differently and then worked with Seven to make it happen. Yesterday, I took out the bike for a nice first ~60mi ride and rode a diverse course: some road (flat, climbing, downhill) and plenty of gravel (fire roads, single tracks). Absolutely remarkable how fun it is to ride on any terrain! I've always heard nothing but praise about Seven Ti custom builds, but the actual ride experience far surpassed my expectations. I'm a novice cyclist who participated in a sprint triathlon with less than 10 rides on a bike. I also take spin class on occasion and noticed that others put out a lot power. I want to be able to output more power and some speed and no I don't have a need for speed; With that said, I heard, at a bike clinic, that your position on the bike is important to both. I inquired further and was referred to Kevin. Who knew that your bike seat should be fitted to your sit bones? Who knew that the length of your handle bar should be proportional to your shoulders? Who knew your cadence should be 90 rpm? Kevin fitted me for approximately three hours explaining each measurement and adjusting accordingly. He also explained the proper way to peddle, hand positioning and so forth. Not only did he fit me but he also provided valuable information for this novice. I picked up my bike on Saturday and took a bike climb clinic the following day. My thighs did not burn and the hills did not feel like mountains. We have always heard great things about the Bicycle Workshop. When we were finally ready to pull the trigger on 2 Ibis bikes in August, we took the 2 hour trip from Central CT to the shop. Once inside, we were blown away by the atmosphere, amazing customer service, and knowledge by the Tenafly staff. Best choice we ever made in a bike shop. They will customize the bike to your liking if you choose to go that route, or you can order the stock builds from the manufacturers and have them add your own touches here and there. They are also one of the very few shops in the region that offer invisiframe installs. My bike came out perfect. These guys are pros at what they do. Other bike shops are great, but Tenafly is on another level. 2020 has been a crazy year, but the staff here are so good at what they do, are great at communicating, and will not let you down. They carry other great brands like Yeti, Orbea, Transition, Trek, etc. We highly recommend the Bicycle Workshop. If you're in the tristate area, rest assured it's worth every penny coming here. These guys rock. Spent a lot of time searching for a bike within my price range, after visiting many shops in the local NYC area to where I live and basically either being completely ignored by everyone or tried to be sold something that was out of my budget I decided to expand my search. I found these guys by doing a search of authorized sellers and they didn't disappoint. Immediately I was greeted and had all my questions answered and despite wanting to buy a model that was past years, they were able to still order it to the shop and get it assembled for me. All of this while never telling me I needed to upgrade to something out of my price range or skill level. Really appreciate their help and can say it was well with the 2 hour round trip to get it. They truly have beautiful, durable, really excellent bikes... These guys (Shepard, Kevin, Genaro and Alejandro) are very helpful, knowledgeable, respectful and friendly. And last but not least, their group ride is great. You don't have to be a member to ride with them. Alejandro (a professional cyclist) is available for beginners. I am a customer of TBW for the last 8 years. I find TBW as a friendly bike shop ,providing honest (aka no BS) , professional and reasonable priced service. The mechanics are very professional and always do the extra effort to make sure everything is 100% with the bike. I have been racing few times on my mountain bike and always got the support and bike at top condition, even when I had emergencies that needed on the spot service. I have never seen so many exotic bike brands under one roof with the highest end dream builds from each line they carry ready to roll right off the showroom floor. Simply amazing! Their staff is knowledgeable and helpful all while adhering to the guidelines we're all faced with. I've been a customer for sometime now and always feel confident that their staff is going to steer me in the right direction for both myself, and my three boys as we progress in the bike industry.. I recently came across this shop by chance and I'm happy I did. I have been mountain biking for 25 years and I finally found a spot I really like. The two owners are very knowledgeable and I learn something new each time I visit. Recently, I purchased a bike from them that they didn't have in stock and I was riding it a week and a half later. It's the first bike I've owned that fits my needs exactly. The mechanics aren't only knowledgeable and professional they are also very personable. I just started visiting these fellas a few months ago and right from the start, they've impressed me. They're all professional, knowledgeable and of course, friendly. The shop also has a varied selection of bikes. As a result, I decided to pull the trigger and buy a bike from them. I am thrilled with my new bike. It was a little hard to decide to buy it, without test driving it but given the circumstances I went with it. They were awesome, these guys really know what they are doing. This is an example of what a great bike shop should be. It's run by a solid group of (bike) guys. Whether this is your 1st bike or your a seasoned rider they are very knowledgable. It seems like their specialty is mountain biking. They are also doing great things for the MTB community by developing and maintaining our local trails. After 10 years of neglect I took my mountain bike in for a variety of issues, derailleur out of adjustment, brake pads gone, rusted chain, flat tire air valve broken.. within 4 days I had a smooth operating cycle for a very reasonable price.. it gets a little crowded so be patience and browse thru all the cool bikes..they do good work read more
