I foster and adopted through Bideawee and have nothing but positive things to say about the shelter and its staff. Likely due to their longstanding reputation as one of the preeminent animal care organizations in New York, they are very well organized and everything runs smoothly when I've worked with them. They show time and time again that they care deeply about their animals. When I fostered a cat a few months ago, they were receptive and eager to hear about behavioral updates in order to match her with the perfect adoptees. Despite her shy disposition, she warmed up well in foster and was a lovely companion before she was adopted. Recently I adopted a kitten from Bideawee myself. The adoption process was smooth - Sloane (formerly Winifred) was spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations when I picked her up. I received her full medical records and a small bag of her food to take home. I've had her for a little over a month now and she is the best cat ever - has charmed my boyfriend entirely (he's obsessed with her) and has made a few guest appearances on work Zoom calls. The Pros. Excellent adoption services. The Adoption Matchmakers are exceptional. Yoko is truly amazing--kind, informative, wonderfully warm, highly organized and efficient, and trustworthy--and knows absolutely everything about each animal's profile and cares deeply about each and every one. She also has a knack for caring for the people around her... and every person who comes into the adoption center. Thanks to people like Yoko, you will find no more supportive place for an animal in need of a home. Fantastic foster program. I once volunteered as a foster parent for a Bideawee animal, also under Yoko's coordination. She was super-responsive, fantastic at trouble-shooting, and available seemingly 24/7--Yoko has a passion for helping animals in need unlike anything I've ever seen in my decades of animal advocacy--either on the rescue/legal side or on the policy side. The Cons. Bideawee appears to be a much better place for animals than for people, with a friction-filled internal culture... I once visited the Manhattan location when an animal technician dressed in scrubs broke down in tears due to organizational problems. The employee reviews on Glassdoor.com appear to reinforce this impression. Animal rescue is doubtless a field where employees see the worst of human cruelty toward animals... all the more reason for such organizations to be supportive and affirming of the tireless and dedicated humans who do this work. On the corporate side, the fundraising team has at least one problematic person--a young, condescending, dismissive individual who didn't seem focused or particularly knowledgeable about the organization. When she assured me that my donation was a mere "drop in the bucket" for an organization that "has an endowment" and wouldn't move the needle unless I at least doubled the amount... well, enough said. Bottom line: Bideawee is a great place to adopt your next best friend, make sure to let the wonderful staff working directly with the animals know how much you appreciate their tireless efforts on behalf of New York's most vulnerable furry residents... and avoid working there or writing checks to a place that will make sure to let you know that they really don't need you (unless you're an animal in need of a home, or behavior training, or a pet cemetery)! read more

I adopted my puppy from the NYC location. The women that were there were so helpful and friendly and supplied me with so much information on cari for my puppy. They even told me that she likes to play in the water dish and that she doe, so I got her a sm pool for our yard and she loves. They even asked me to bring in my 2 year old dog to see if there was going to be an issu, and there was none and now they are best of friends and it's so wonderful. You do get to play and cuddle with the dogs and hold and snuggle with the cats and if they are puppies and kittens,it's even more wonderful.l Negative parts of the BidaweeI if you want to adopt a dog here, I would suggest you foster first, because you're not going to get refunded your money and you will be out at least $500. My time in the playroom was often and i mean often RUINED by the company photographer who insisted on doing a photo shoot of the animal i was playing with. This happened ALOT Bideawee insists on only hiring attractive people who wears skin tight scrubs,all the age of 21-23, as their Adoption Associates. As a senior, i had MAJOR trouble with one of them because of the 40-year age difference, and the blatant disrespect of the elderly by some of these young employees compelled me to leave and not return. If you want to get this job because you love animals and you're an older person. you will not get it. They are all about aesthetic beauty which is disturbing. Bideawee charges volunteers $700 for their Bideawee Ball even though , some of us have volunteered for 80 hours a month. We should be allowed to attend this event gratis. The dogs are ALWAYS getting sick with giardia. Sometimes the whole unit will have it. They do not give the dogs enough food which I witnessed,and then the Adoption Associates take their time cleaning the units in the morning, sometimes waiting till the afternoon until volunteer comes in so the dogs are wallowing in waste. The shelter is in a sketchy neighborhood near a homeless shelter so please come early because you see these men roaming around with shopping carts and bags. The food in this area is super super expensive. it will run you around $20 to eat lunch, so if you're a senior like me, you're going to want to brown bag it or Tupperware it. They have an eating area and a microwave in the shelter. The bideawee allows one individual to take over the entire laundry duty without saying anything about it. Coming from New Jersey there has been nothing to do because this individual will not let anyone help and she even told me she is the one in charge and it's too bad. This negates the idea of teamwork and i'm amazed this shelter allows it to happen. The color code system with the dogs and cats is entirely ridiculous. There is blue for most tame, yellow for a little bit more challenging, and red for the most challenging. This is all nonsense,because every single person that volunteers with dogs and cats has experience with dogs and cats, and understands dogs and cat,. so if you come in from New Jersey like i did and there are no blue code dogs and this woman is hogging the laundry duty you have essentially come into the shelter for nothing which is what happened to me on several occasions. read more

Arrived here exhausted, stressed and sad from visiting three other city shelters in the course of a week (see my other reviews), and Bideawee was like a breath of fresh air. My boyfriend and I had no trouble adopting our little girl. We arrived and filled out a form at the front and waited for a staff member to show us the dogs. It took a little while, but we received a great walk through by a wonderful staff member who knew all about the dogs and could help us find one to match our needs (vocality, size, etc.). We found little Kira (formerly Essie), as she stood out to my boyfriend immediately. We were taken to a room on another floor to interact with her and we knew right away it was a perfect fit. We then did some paperwork up front (which is oddly in front of everyone waiting at the front desk lol) and had to show proof of pets allowed in the apartment lease (which was the only frustrating part, because we had to reach the landlord because the email she gave us originally was not official enough). Then she was ours! We had to provide our own leash and harness/collar because they recycle the ones the animals wear. The process was simple and tailored to our needs. We were very impressed that the staff at Bideawee knew the animals' names by heart, knew how old they were, were very specific about the details of each of the dogs' personalities and their likely needs. They were also very attuned to temperaments of the dogs and their prospective owners, so we felt like they had the best interests of both parties in mind. There was a lot of puppy play time allowed for us to get to know the dogs, and while it was very busy that day, we didn't feel rushed or brushed aside. This place (especially Dr. Simms) will kill your fur family. Ever since Dr.Parr(sp?) left they have been hideous, and dangerous. I have been taking both of my cats to Bidawee since 2010/11. I have believed in this organization and what they do donating money and talking to everyone j know about them. Then they killed my cat. Took my 16 year old cat Rocky in for a routine wellness check. He's been fine, jumping, playing, chasing and cuddling. Dr.Simms let's me know he has kidney disease, it's beginning stage 3, but we should address with subcutaneous fluids. She suggested 90, then corrects and says she thinks he can take up to 120 every two days. This is a geriatric cat, literally the number one side effect of subQ fluids when googled is Congestive Heart Failure. Does she check, or even mention this side effect? Nope! Three days later my energetic, curious, cuddly and healthy baby is struggling to breathe, crawling on the floor and in obvious pain. I rush him to the 24 hour emergency at AMC-4 days in an O2 chamber, $10,000 and my cat is now in stage 4 kidney disease and has developed a tumor between his shoulder blades where the needle went in. My baby and best friend of 16 years died a month after a routine "wellness check" at Bidawee, a place I trusted with his life. And there is nothing I can do about it read more

Adopted my angel baby kitten Phoebe in October of 2020 and she is my world (don't tell my other cat). It was a streamlined and easy process for adopting. After a strange and uncomfortable experience post-application approval with a local rescue, and a little bit of disappointment at another city shelter, I decided to visit Bideawee, and I'm so glad I did! The process was incredibly simple and allowed me to see the cats they currently had that would most suit my wishes and needs. They showed me two cats, both of which I absolutely loved and were wonderful matches. But when I saw Beanie (then Babie), I just fell in love. They adopted him to me that very day -- no stress, judgmental attitudes, or ridiculous requirements -- just a simple requirement to show proof of my building's pet-friendly policy, which was easily done. This "shelter" is a huge failure. The conditions under which the dogs and cats are kept are deplorable. They are not adequately socialized or exercised. Behavioral and health problems are neither addressed or handled and are misrepresented to potential adopters. Some adopters are turned down outright for seemingly arbitrary reasons. So while I was on vacation in Manhattan, my 115lb Akita hurts her toe nail. Somehow a piece of it came off exposing the pink on the inside of nail. I took my dog to Bideawee. The receptionists were nice enough. I saw Dr. Sevalla who immediately said that the nail must be completely removed. I explained that I was on a weekend trip and leaving for Florida the following day. She was very pushy about wanting to remove the nail right away. I wanted to wait until we went back home if a procedure must be done. I had also emailed a photo of it to my vet in Florida who said he didn't think it looked serious but wanted to make sure by examining it in person. I asked for some antibiotics, maybe pain meds for my dog until we got home. Dr. Sevalla said there was no point in cleaning the injury. I asked for some Blood Stop Powder in case she stubbed it by accident. She said "No this powder can't be administered by you. If you try, it will hurt your dog and she WILL bite you". Absolutely ludicrous. My dog would never bite me. I couldn't believe the nerve of this woman. She quoted me $319.05 for the surgical procedure (anesthesia too). I declined. Good thing too. So after being denied antibiotics, pain meds and such, I left the vet and was out $72.25 for just the visit. I went to a pharmacy and picked up bandages, peroxide and neosporin. I changed the bandages every few hours and let it air out in between. It was difficult keeping the bandage on since I had to walk her outside to relieve herself. After getting home, I took my dog to my vet as soon as they open. My vet checked the nail. The nail itself was not loose or falling off. Only a part of it had chipped off. He did not recommend removing it!! It would be able to heal on its own. He said I had done good with the bandaging and neosporin. Her toenail is healing just fine. Her foot is bandaged during the day and at night I put the cone on and let the wound air out a little. I can't believe that Dr. Sevalla would push for an unnecessary surgical procedure just to make a buck! And to deny pain meds or antibiotics was completely unethical. Smh... read more

I've wanted a dog since I was five. My Dad got me goldfish instead. So one random Saturday afternoon, I convinced my husband to go to Bideawee with me. We just wanted to meet a few pets and see what happened. We showed up, looked through a booklet and waited to be taken in to meet some pups. Right off the bat, I can tell they love their animals there and witnessed several happy volunteer dog walkers pass through. After meeting the dogs on the first level, we asked to see Leaf and Cami. It was probably in the first five minutes of meeting little Leaf, I fell in love. She was loving, sweet, energetic and playful. It was pretty much a given that she was coming home with us. The staff called our references that night and confirmed all our information in no time flat. Upon getting the confirmation call, I squealed and could not wait to bring her home. Leaf, now known as Bella, is such a sweet girl. We love her to pieces. They gave us a small bag of dog food when we picked her up and we brought a leash for her (I'd bring a collar or harness too). She also had a free appointment at the animal hospital upstairs to take care of a bug she was getting over. This is a great place to come rescue pets. I am a big fan! read more

We got our 2 sweet new little kitties here a couple weeks ago. My husband's Christmas gift to me was kittens and we spent over a week canvassing the city's shelters for kittens. The ASPCA and the city shelter on the UES had no kittens whatsoever (we were looking for under 6 mos old). Also tried the UES Petco on Sunday when they bring cats in and they were pretty rude, acting basically like they did not want to even have their kittens adopted. Okay, but enough about other shelters. We found our babies at Bide-a-wee. The shelter itslef was nothing but great. The first floor housed all the cats and it was very clean and very well-staffed. They let me hang out and play with the kittens as long as I wanted in a little private room. The noticed a rash on Cooper while we were playing and they whisked him up to the vet on the 2nd floor. They ended up sending us home with all kinds of treatments and medicine (for free). The cats are all also spayed/neutered and given all their basic shots before adoption. The price ($150/kitten) is a little bit more than other shelters, but I thought they really offered a lot of services in the cost (including a free follow-up vet visit to be used at your own discreation). Our kitties are so cute and happy and we could not be more satisifed with our experience here! read more

I sit down and fill out the form, and proceed to wait for 2 HOURS before I'm able to go to the back room to see them. In that time, 2 kittens have been adopted by other patrons. No problem, there's still 6 more, right? They then decided to tell me that 4 of the cats were bonded pairs, which meant I'd need to adopt 2 cats rather than 1. This wasn't stated to me anywhere and I specifically said I wanted to adopt only 1 kitten. Then, they informed me that 1 of the two remaining kittens had severe behavioral issue and couldn't be adopted, and the other kitten was extremely skittish and would barely interact with anyone. Great place to adopt!The staff are friendly and explain all the things you need to know about the dog you want. You can take your new pet home that same day! The procedure was quick. They had a promotion the month I went (March) so I got to take my dog home without paying the adoption fee, except the license, so it came out to be $8.50. When everything was done they handed me a folder of information of my new pet Scout! The folder included a free wellness exam (Just one) at their vet. clinic that is located on the second floor. The visit is $75 but you have to show the card so they know not to charge you that day. I can't believe it's been 7 years since my last positive review of Bideawee! Since I recently went back I thought I' d update. I was a loyal client of Bideawee for a number of years. I don't have a lot of money to spend and I usually have 3 pets at a time. There are three subsidized non-profit vet clinics in Manhattan: the ASPCA, Bideawee and the New York Humane Society. I have never used the ASPCA; their prices seem to be the highest. Over the years Bideawee's prices crept up so when money became extremely tight I went back to the Humane Society. And for a number of years I have been very happy with the HS, especially since their prices are insanely low, despite some of the challenges with dealing with their busy-ness. However, the last time I needed to see a vet right away the HS had no appointment available for three weeks! And the vets I've used in an emergency on the UWS have become ridiculously expensive (like the whole neighborhood). So I called Bideawee and they were able to see me right away and while the cost of an exam was almost twice that of the HS it was still much less than the vet closest to me. Like many reviewers here I was in love with Dr. Paar, who was at Bideawee for what seems like forever. All of the vets that work there now are new since I last used them. I happened to schedule my appointment with Dr. Shian Simms, who is Bideawee's clinic head, and she was very good! So what's so good about Bideawee these days? Well, I've already mentioned that they can see you on short notice. The reception area has a spa-like calm compared to the frenzy of the HS and the client-facing staff are all very good. Appointments start on time. The exam rooms are small but very clean and well organized. While Bideawee's prices are somewhat higher than they were when I used them all the time, which is to be expected, they provide you with a written estimate of what they are proposing to do, with a low end and a high end, which they ask you to agree to before they proceed. I very much appreciate that! No surprises! Also, Dr. Simms doesn't throw the kitchen sink at the problem, but proceeds in stages, just as Dr. Paar used to. My neighborhood for-profit vet operates the opposite: they do everything at once, without being very clear about exactly what they will do or what it will cost and everything costs a lot. It's not so much that they're doing anything "wrong," but telling them you're on a budget makes absolutely no difference. In general Bideawee's standard of communication is very high and up to date. I told them I preferred to hear from them by email and Dr. Simms was very responsive. They now send the lab results by email so that you don't have to wait for them to be faxed and you can see exactly what the vet is seeing. Bideawee has a modern web portal where all your pets' records are in the same place, similar to what the best human practices do these days. I must say that for all the wonderful work the HS does, communicating with them is almost painful. No email, no voicemail. Everything eventually gets done but it's a part-time job keeping on top of it. Not so with Bideawee. I'm still very fond of the Humane Society and love my vet there and I may go back for routine check ups if I can wait for weeks to get an appointment (I hope that's a temporary problem). But if I need to see a vet right away, Bideawee is back to being my first choice. Highly recommended. read more

I highly recommend adopting animals at Bideawee! It became clear to me the first time I entered Bideawee that everybody there seems to love animals and seems to go out of their way to take care of them. I met the manager of the Manhattan location, Lisa Ortiz, who carefully listened to what I was looking for, namely a partner for my 11-year old cat Bruno, and recommended, Gingas, a cat who was very shy with people but great with other cats. Poor Gingas had been at Bideawee for 20 months and when I first met her I realized why: while there were other cats in the room, many of whom approached me to play with me, Gingas was sitting on her cat tree and seemed too scared to make contact. But sure enough I was able to pet her in spite of her shyness and ended up adopting her after visiting her a few times. After a few weeks adapting to her new home Gingi started following Bruno around pretty much wherever he went which made us very, very happy. About 2 months later I returned to Bideawee because Gingas clearly had more love to give than Bruno wanted and adopted Sparkles, again recommended by Lisa. Sparkles felt at home the first day she arrived and we now seem to have an optimal situation: Gingi, whom we meanwhile sometimes call "Sidekick", spends equal time following Bruno or Sparkles around, they mutually groom each other, and everybody seems to get what they need from each other. Gingi also warmed up to us, and especially me: in addition to loving to play with us I can now pet her when she feels like it (not at other times - which is of course how it should be!). On these occasions she closes her eyes, totally relaxes and really seems to enjoy being caressed for up to 10 minutes. Thus, I can not thank Lisa enough for recommending these 2 adorable cats to make our family complete! She really seems to know a lot about animals and people to find perfect matches. Her knowledge of people and animals seems also reflected in the calm, friendly, competent, caring and welcoming atmosphere created by her and all the staff I have encountered at Bideawee: I always felt welcome and that everybody tried to make the adoptions successful for everybody involved. And, I still feel welcome to tap into Lisa's enormous knowledge about all sorts of cat- or dog-related issues. This certainly goes far beyond her call of duty, since she is probably very busy taking care of new Bideawee arrivals and adoptations. I picked the cat out on 12/27/05, we both liked her, we got approved same day, got to take her home, fine. The adoption fee was waived since my grandma was a senior citizen, and if I recall correctly, they had a program where if you're above a certain age, the adoption fee would be waived by Purina. I don't know if they still have that program, but if they do, cool. Eventually, the cat died of cancer at the mere age of 10 back in May of 2010. Last year, I applied to volunteer but didn't go through with it because of how out of the way it is from my apartment. Since then, the adoptions team has been a nightmare to work with. They denied me the first time without telling me and then the second time, they just left my application to rot - so it's probably still in their system if they didn't "lose" it. Seems like they're not serious, and if they are, they're judgmental as to who they allow adopt. I never had this many problems with the ASPCA. read more

My boyfriend and I visited 5 animal shelters this past weekend and Bideawee was recommended to me by a ASPCA volunteer. We popped by, were not greeted until I asked a staff member to help me when she was ready, and were rudely spoken to. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name but the staff member reviewed my survey and said, "You don't want a dog that doesn't barks? You know dogs bark, right? Their barking is like how humans talk." Yes, I'm aware that dogs bark but if you will ask me about my preference, yes, I would prefer for my dog not to bother my neighbors in my NYC apartment. Their selection of dogs was small as there is only one room with eight dogs or so. Our visit here was short and although I'm sure they'll have no problem finding foster parents or people to adopt their dogs, I won't be coming back here to adopt my future dog. read more

There is something extremely wrong with Dr. Manfredi. She has this unkind energy about her. It was my first time at Bideawee and it'll be my last time. My cat is a pure bred cat and doesn't need your peasant ass hands to be handling her the way you were. I am quiet about it because I trust the professionals but the more I thought about that "pinch" ( you know exactly what Pinch i'm referring to since I asked you twice if that was a little too rough) the more uncomfortable i am with you as a vet. You don't care about the animals. You care about the money. Do not come here. I only came here because it was a little closer to my house than my regular vet. And also, "no-kill" shelter my ass. I have inside detail that a couple cats were put to sleep cuz it's been over a year since someone showed interest in adopting them. Y'all are the devil. read more

I went to Bideawee hoping to meet a cat to adopt. I had high hopes, because the website talks about how you sit with an adoption counselor and they help match you to a cat who would be a good fit for you. When I walked in, first they told me I was next, and then after ten minutes, they said "whoops, there are three other people before you." I asked how long the wait would be, and they refused to give me any sense (20 minutes? 2 hours? somewhere in between? they wouldn't ballpark it.) Finally someone took me back, and walked me through the dog room. Didn't even tell me about the dogs, just literally walked me past them, and then said "so, what are you looking for?" I said "...a cat?" She said "oh, I didn't realize." It was written on the form I filled out. Which was in her hand. Then she took me to the cat room. She walked me through it halfheartedly, told me that the cats with blue and green stickers on their cages were good with kids. She opened the cage of one cat, who ran around the room, got hissed at by another cat, and ran back to her cage. I asked if I should try to meet any of the other blue/green-sticker cats, and she said "nah." Then she took me to the smaller rooms where there were a few cats that were not great with kids, despite my form saying that I needed a cat that was comfortable with kids. And that was it. Dr. Paar was my doctor for a long time. She was amazing and I am sorry she's no longer at the clinic. Bideawee has an excellent facility and the receptionist is always very friendly and engaging. The place is kept clean, and looks up to date. The vet cost is a little higher than it used to be and that can be frustrating. I originally found them, because I was shopping around for an inexpensive place for my dog's surgery back in 2009. I don't make a lot of money and vet costs in this city are SO high, so a place like Bideawee is not only essential but greatly appreciated. The last time I was there, about a year ago, I had a bad run in with one of the other doctors. She was judgmental and rude. She implied that my poverty is a reason not to have animals. Hence I dropped a star. I actually had a lot of anxiety about going this time, I was afraid I was going to see her again. With any luck, she no longer works there. However, I went just recently with my dogs for a check up and our new Doctor, Dr. Simms was extremely friendly. I felt like we were getting great care. read more

I did everything right. I submitted an application, was approved, came in to meet my puppy, and then brought my current dog in the next day to make sure they were a perfect match. The next day, as I was about to leave the house to pick up my dog, I received a phone call that someone had just walked in off the street, gotten approved, and adopted my puppy out from under me! After all of the paperwork, interviews, and phone calls, all I have to show for it is a broken heart and thousands of dollars of brand new puppy supplies. I will never consider adopting from Bide-a-Wee again. read more

I wanted to like Bideawee. Their adoption work here in the city is so vital and very much appreciated. But their vet practice has an "Us vs. Them" mentality which is such a shame. You will never get a vet to call you back, no matter what the polite reception staff tells you. You will get a dose of bureaucracy and frustration no matter how patient a disposition you may have. We've moved elsewhere, and still support Bide-A-Wee with an annual gift, but for animal care - forget it. Hit your thumb with a hammer instead. It's faster and the aggravation goes away faster. read more

I wish I could have given this place a good review but sadly, it's a shame the way I was treated due to my age. A few months ago, I was interested in adopting a dog. I'm 19 and currently a college student at FIT and I am a serious dog lover. i don't believe in buying dogs from a pet store due to puppy mills etc. so I started looking into adopting a dog. I had found such a cute one named Victoria I was interested in and so I took the trip to Bidawee to see if she was available. I took my Uncle Mike with me to go see the dog and to make sure she was a good fit. I got to see her and I filled out paperwork when all of sudden, while waiting in the lobby for my landlord to come back, it became a problem that I was adopting at 19. Why wait an hour later to tell me that? I blew that off my shoulder and had my roommate come down and sign for me. She skipped class to do this for me. When she arrived, they huffed and puffed and finally agreed to let me sign the papers. When I gave the number to call my landlord who was going to give authorization, they said it was too late in the day to do it. An hour before they close was too late? Ridiculous! I've never been more insulted in my life. This place saw my age and decided I wasn't a good fit from the beginning. They should have called my employer to see how much money I made (which is a hefty amount for a college kid) and shouldn't have judged a book by it's cover. While I don't believe in it, I bought my puppy Oliver from a pet store and he is the love of my life. I'm ashamed I had to purchase him but those puppies in the stores need saving too! I hope adoption places realize that soon because my age doesn't define the person I am. read more

I found Bideawee online after being frustrated with our current vet. I was a little scared to try a new place because my puppy had gotten in an accident a month before and this would be his first check up since his injury. To my surprise (and joy) everything was fantastic! The offices are very clean, all the staff was helpful and friendly and both the nurse and doctor was very knowledgeable about his injury. I loved the way they spoke to me, and my dog. I never felt like decisions were being made without me (as I did at my previous vet) as they explained procedures in full, including costs. This is a low cost vet, but you are getting great care! Bideawee is a not for profit so when you get your bill (which is much less than at other vets) you know your money is going towards a good cause. They have an adoption center with all kinds of dogs/cats/puppies/kittens. I also read on their website that it's their policy never to euthanize an animal unless it is incurably ill or suffering, which i LOVE. Support Bideawee and ditch your old vet and adopt; let's put pet stores out of business! read more

I adopted my dog in January this year. She has been tested heart warm positive before I adopted her. And the manager in the shelter told me that the shelter would cover all the vet bills for her heart warm treatment. So we came back first time after we adopt her to do the heart warm check today and see if she still has heart warm. I have to say I am very disappointed with their service. After about 20 minutes waiting time a nurse came and weight my dog and the thing is she didn't even know what we were there for. After a while the vet came and met us and told many things to do which are all irrelevant to heart warm check up. Again, we were there for heat warm check up only and that's what I ve been told when I daopt my dog. The vet didn't even mention what he was going to do to my dog and gave her all bunch of vaccines and other medicines. The vet bill came out $428 something. I don't mind pay the vet bills for my dog if she has problem or if it's necessary. I don't like the environment, I didn't like the receptionist lady this morning (she was pretty mean and after arguing with her for a while she admitted that we didn't need to pay for the blood test for heart warm which cost $75 so she took that out from the bill) I don't recommend either Bideawee animal shelter or animal hospital. First I thought they were very responsible and caring for the pets but both my boyfriend and I noticed they want to people adopt the pets from them and use their vets! I don't recommend this place to anyone and I will never come back of course. All they care about is money to me :/ read more
