The manager came over to my table after I went out to my car to get sunglasses and I even put my Bible on the table with my note pad and when I got to the outdoor table I left my stuff at and was starting to sit down, the owner got extremely rude and shouting at me to leave the establishment. My friend David Rojas worked with the new owner before he bought the place when Miss Nicky owned it. I came in lots of times when David Rojas worked there. Apparently the new owner didn't recognize me, I was in my work clothes and wanted a nice meal. Such a rude man. I would not recommend this establishment EVER. VERY RUDE AND HURTFUL OWNER. It was so much better when Mrs. Nicky owned it. I just wanted a nice meal. No compassion from this establishment. Pretty much ruined my day. These establishments up on the ridge have really lost how to treat people. Do not go to this establishment the owner is horrible. Service is young and not especially polished, but the attitude is good--friendly and willing. That feels pretty typical for Chico, honestly. We shared the black forest ham spatzle ( not sure if I spelled it correctly) which is a German inspired dish. It was delicious! Noodles cooked perfectly with plenty of ham and goodness in the bowl! First time I tried something a bit different and glad we ordered this ( came specially for this house favorite). Full bar and a ton of craft beers to choose from! The place is bicycle themed with a bike shop next door. Very cool and casual! When we left it was already very busy! She's the best of anyone else on The Ridge in my humble opinion. I'm addicted and crave her food at least once/week. When I asked her about some of her ingredients, I found out she uses quality food ingredients such as Rib Eye in her Philly Cheese Steaks and good quality lean hamburger for her burgers. Her fries are always crunchy...I try not to have them too often but they're so good it's difficult. Lol The Patty Wagon moved recently in the 8000 block on Skyway and has many more tables/seating. Plus lots of shade and protection from the rain now. So that's extra nice for me now. I also found out recently that she was one of the first places to open after the Camp Fire. She wanted to help feed all the workers on The Ridge and she also helped feed some people who were literally homeless pro fire. Thank you Janice for toughing it through the difficult financial times and dealing with some of the initial reconstruction.
