I stopped in here 4 days ago during lunchtime to give this place a try as I was craving a sandwich. I live within walking distance and somehow never tried this place, man am I glad I did! I ordered the Da Vinci, the MenageATrois and the Dirty Reuben. The sandwiches are priced as any normal establishment nowadays and man are they massive! Totally worth it! The MenageATrois was my personal favorite. I ordered them all with the available toppings they offered and it sure did pack a hearty sandwich. My first time coming to the one in Chico as the owner Ike himself was offering free sandwich coupons around downtown and I graciously received one, even posed with him and a co-worker for their publicity. However today coming in at 4:40 (thought was plenty of time before closing), management may want to know music was so loud I couldn't order and trust me I love me some Sade singing . I asked it to be turned down and then the employee didn't know what I meant when I asked in the sourdough was a roll or not. Finally asked if the bread was sliced or not and got through to them. music got turned back up when I walked away (could be wrong) either way it was too loud for me to wait to pick up my sandwich. My ribeye steak was cooked well (MOIST ), and the habanero sauce was just enough spice to hint at after a bite! They had GREAT bread choices, my favorite being the wheat, but the Dutch had a great crunch to the top! This is definitly my favorite sandwhich place ever. The people are cooll af and like in general seem like very fun and relaxed. The outside of this ikes is a tad mehhh but inside it's very cozy. My favorite to get is usually the elvis Keith haha. I dunno why but I think I need to branch out and try more :). The meat is pretty tender and like its juicy but not falling apart. The bread is always toasted very good. As far as I can tell the service is fast as well, thoigh that may be because I bet the linch rush. They also have halal options and veggie options which is super dope as well. I really appreciate that. My favorite part is that with every sandwhich purchase you get a caramel apple pop. It really is a fun surprise because I forget that I get one whenever I go. You can find parking close by but some of the closer spots are only 25 min and some others may be 1 hr. Probably the first and the last time I order from this place. I got a to go order and I ordered the wonder woman and fries. I received a phone call about 10 minutes after I order from the restaurant stating that they were out of fries and asked if I wanted something different so I said Onion rings. I have always loved Ike's in different cities and was so excited to see they had one in Chico when I moved here. To my dismay, this Ike's had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. When ordering, I asked if I could order a sandwich that I saw on their website and noticed that it wasn't on their menu in store. At every Ike's I have been to they have been able to do this as long as I have given them the sandwich number. The cashier looked confused when I asked him about this sandwich and I told him I could just order a different sandwich if it was too difficult for them to do. He then proceeded to tell me they can do that for me and took down the sandwich number so I happily paid and waited for my sandwich. When the sandwich was brought to me, it was a completely different sandwich than I had ordered. I told the lady kindly that this wasn't my order and explained and showed her the sandwich from the website that I ordered from the cashier. She talks with the cashier, then she walks back to me, sets the sandwich in front of me and says "This is the sandwich that the cashier put into the system so this is technically the sandwich you ordered." And WALKS AWAY. I understand that mistakes happen, however I was very kind when talking with her. I am baffled that she thought the proper way to handle my situation was by forcing me to accept a sandwich that was completely wrong from what I ordered. Went in at 1pm. I was the only person in there ordering a sandwich until a few people came in after me a few min later. Waited over 20 min for my one sandwich (which had no modifications) sandwich is supposed to be hot, I received it COLD. Along with it sopping in sauce (I didn't order a sandwich that comes with lots of sauce) I'm pretty sure they made my sandwich as soon as I ordered it and let it sit out with about 4 or 5 other sandwiches. I joined the rewards program at my local restaurant and my family and I love the sandwiches! Tried this location the weekend we moved our daughter into her house to attend Chico State. I was surprised that they were set up to only take orders via their kiosks. I asked if I could redeem my free sandwich reward via the kiosk and was told that I could only redeem it if I ordered online. I went online to place our order and their online system was down. I had my family try as well and the same result. I let the staff know and was expecting them to make an exception and allow me to redeem my reward sandwich but the shift lead kept emphasizing that it could only be done online, despite knowing that the online system was down. One of the other staff members, who was very empathetic and didn't like the kiosk system either, asked the shift lead to "TURN THE ONLINE SYSTEM BACK ON". So after being told to order online by the staff leader, which he knew was turned off, he continued to tell me to order online . We ended up ordering via the kiosk but wasn't allowed to use my rewards membership and didn't get credit for that purchase. The sandwiches were good as usual, as well as the onion rings and zucchini, but the terrible experience with the staff leader and system issues caused by him, we will not be giving our business to this restaurant whenever we are in town. There's too many options in the downtown area to put up with this nonsense. If I could give a zero rating I would. Shame on this franchise for conducting business this way. read more

Ikes raised their prices, super expensive. When I came in today and saw their high prices, i was already upset. Then they proceed to tell me they do not have any lettuce and tomato. How are you a sandwich shop and have no lettuce and tomato. The sandwich I wanted would have came out to be $14 after tax. The Sandwich would have had only meat on the sandwich as everything else costs more money to add on to it. Even extra sauce costs more money. I knew Ike's would forever have my business when I walked up to the counter and said "gluten-free" and the lady replied with, "allergy or a preference?" Our name was called and she said in a joking manner, "I definitely made yours prettier than he made his!" I laughed, and said thank you and that I couldn't wait to dig in and I'd try to put it on Yelp. We took our sandwiches and went home to eat them. I opened mine and was delighted.
