SERVICE I was seeking water shoes for my trip. I ended up Big5 and that's where I found them AND in my size. Sure, I went to Dicks and Nordstroms Rack but could not find anything. While there, a young guy by the name of Michael was super helpful - got his name from the cashier. He was unloading a box of water shoes and offered to dig through his box for my size AND run to the back of which he did. From there, I had 2 sizes to pick from. ITEM I needed/wanted all black enclosed water shoes. WELL For me it's all about service and or quality depending on the venue/food/situation. My Daughter's Softball Glove broke while worming up at Her Allstar Tournament, Glove is only 4 months old when I took a chance to see if they would replace it ( and I didn't have my receipt ) no questions asked, they ran my credit card through the machine and it showed the history of purchased being made 4 months ago. They were very nice and gladly exchanged it for a new one. We call 10 minutes prior to closing, the girl said that the item that we asked for specific Coleman stringtie for our lanterns. She said they were out of stock. We arrived 5minutes before they closed they had it already locked up called the manager or whoever the lead was at the time he said oh I see that you're knocking my husband goes into the store and finds the item that we need! They just wanted to go home early apparently, One of the associates used the excuse that the phone times were ahead. ‍ . Very disgraceful form of customer service was used tonight. Wow. What a fantastic retail experience this Big 5 is- this is one of the most organized and up-kept stores I've ever been in. I mean seriously, even the clothing racks didn't have clothes hung over them! The staff are friendly and attentive, they were quick to answer questions and assist me in finding the items I came in for. Everything is Covid-19 friendly and I am so happy I got to do some of holiday shopping here! You'd be surprised what you can find, from typical sporting equipment to Juicy Couture Fuzzy Jackets- WOW, who would have known?! Stopped in for a sale! The store is located in a semi-decent location. Tucked in the back of the strip mall you can easily find it. Staff are super friendly and I was helped pretty quickly. I was greeted when I entered and went the camping section. I'm reminded how many camping supplies this store carries. I was looking for a new knife. Big 5 is always having a sale. I found a nice pocket knife for 75% off. I'm not disappointed in the purchase at all. read more

I feel so guilty coming in here the past few weeks because 1. I work at an outdoor store now and I feel like I'm cheating on them for being here lol 2. The things I bought here didn't leave me satisfied so I've always came back for an exchange of something else that fit better or something that I really needed Andrea and Ceselley were awesome employees who helped make each of my returns easier. Big 5 has a great store policy on returns/store credit and if it wasn't for that, I would have been stuck with a brand-spanking-new 5 person tent that would remain new because my family isn't into camping like I am :P In the end, I got a cute Hello Kitty watch along with a set of flashlights, tools, clock and a arm band for my iPhone when I work out. Low stars on the customer service. Called in wanting to inquire if they ha a product in stock that I found online. The website said this location had the item but was low in stock. When I called in, I was literally passed on to at least 4 different people and each time on hold for a few minutes. When I finally spoke to someone, he wasnt helpful at all. I feel like her just have me an answer so he can get off the phone and go back to doing nothing. Overall, I ended up driving and coming in to buy my item. read more

Called to verify what time they closed and someone told me 930. I drove 15 min from the other side of town for some guy named Jose to tell me "sorry, our systems are already shut down, we closed at 9." He even confirmed that the girl who answered told me 930.
