Excellent customer service. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Small sporting goods place packed with items. Located in a strip mall across the Martinez casino. Not much on sale or clearance as other Big 5 stores. But is more organized, cleaner, and has neatly stacked merchandise than other branches. Was able to find what I needed without searching through many aisles. Will return here.

It doesn't have as many items or inventory as the Big 5 in Concord, but the store has a more open feel and is less cluttered.

When I called Precor support, their rep was pretty rude and condescending in general, but I managed to get the names of two authorized repair centers in the Bay Area. The first one in Hayward wanted to charge extra because they would have to hike down to South Bay so I gave Club Care a call. Gina who answered the phone was super friendly, quoted a fair price, didn't rush to get off the phone, and even put me in touch with someone there (Jeff) who could answer my questions specific to our elliptical machine and the problems we were having with it. I was impressed with how Jeff treats his potential customers. Anthony who came out to fix our machine was great - he quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it in no time flat and even answered all my questions about preventative maintenance for the future. Give these guys a shot when your exercise machine needs maintenance or repair!

When my stationary bike needed a fix, I was given (like the previous reviewer) two choices by the…read moremanufacturer. Choice #1 was crap; the rep was totally uninterested in what was wrong with the bike, but totally interested in describing the high cost of having the problem diagnosed, fixed, etc... And so I called ClubCare. What a relief! Starting with the initial phone call and ending with the resolution of my issue, ClubCare provided outstanding service. Jeff (the guy who handled most of the situation) listened closely to the "symptoms" affecting my bike, and was able to provide a diagnosis over the phone and have a part ordered to be delivered to my house. I had the choice of installing it myself (to save the time and $ of having a ClubCare service rep come to my house) or have an on-site service call. I handled the repair myself, with some minor coaching from Jeff, and now I have a fully operational bike. It was really refreshing to have ClubCare explore the options that would work best in my circumstances and provide me with a reasonable price to fix the bike. Very different than Choice #1 (see above) that provided me with a rote, uninterested approach to my broken bike. I think ClubCare works mainly with health clubs and gyms (lucky them), but I have to say that ClubCare treated me (an individual bike owner) like I was just as important as any other "big" customer.

I like REI and have visited several locations, both in the Bay Area and out of state. My…read moreexperiences have generally been positive--REI employees are typically friendly and helpful, similar to the vibe at Trader Joe's. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case at this location. The old lady that works there was unexpectedly rude during an unprompted interaction. With no eye contact or interaction between us she walked up to be and began speaking to me. When I looked up I was just confused because I wasn't even sure she was talking to me or the other person who also walked up next to me on the other side. When I didn't respond her attitude escalated and she spoke to me in a condescending, "talking at" manner, as if I didn't understand English. The completely unprovoked rudeness was so unwarranted.

(and yes, after you went on break, I did end up buying a Gregory but just a Gregory 20 for this trip lol) i'll be back before for a bigger one next trip. Previous visits here I've tried on a bunch of shoes and can I just mention how amazing the return policy is for members? Once I find a shoe I just keep buying it here because I want this brick and mortar store to stay open. But every once in a while when my shoe changes and I have to find a new one it's nice to know that you have a year to bring it back if it doesn't work out. :-) Keep coming back y'all in person, or the brick and mortar stores will die

The right shoes--and the right guidance--can make all the difference…read more I returned to Road Runner Sports after my Nike Pegasus 42s started feeling unstable, almost like my ankle was rolling and the cushioning was off. Thanks to the VIP program, I was able to exchange them within the 90-day return window and work with Travis again. Travis is knowledgeable, patient, and great at explaining how each shoe moves and supports your foot. Based on his demonstration, I switched to the Brooks Glycerin Flex, and I'm glad I did. During a run, I stepped into a hole in the pavement, and I truly believe the stability of the shoe helped keep the injury from being much worse. Road Runner Sports is an excellent resource for runners and athletes because the staff considers your stride, foot strike, comfort, and activity level--not just the shoe's appearance. The prices are comparable to other retailers, but here you also receive expert guidance and the added protection of the VIP return policy. Congratulations to Travis and his future bride on their upcoming Halloween wedding! I definitely recommend this location.

I've always had an incredible experience here and this time it was thanks to Marcos. We came in to…read morefind shoes for my mother-in-law, and the level of care he provided was truly exceptional! Marcos was incredibly patient and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. He noticed my mother-in-law was wearing a 7.5 wide and although it was a good fit, suggested an 8 wide instead to better accommodate her feet. And it was! She felt more balance and less tension and it showed on the treadmill when she was able to increase her MPH. He didn't just stop at the size, though; he performed a full walking analysis and constantly monitored her stride to ensure the fit was perfect. Even though the store was incredibly busy, Marcos never rushed us. He must have gone back and forth to the stockroom at least a dozen times to pull different options, knowing full well we were only there to buy one pair. He personally swapped her insoles into every single shoe she tried on--and we probably went through about 8 different pairs in various sizes. His expertise really shines when he talks about the technical side of things, like toe-gap and overall comfortability. On top of the technical fit, he has a great eye for aesthetics; he picked out colors that perfectly matched my mother-in-law's personal style. It's rare to find this kind of dedicated service. We will definitely be coming back to see Marcos when it's time to get shoes for my wife!
