Bagels are great when you get them. Problem is, it takes at least 10-30 min for one bagel sandwich. So if you come here, give yourself the time. If the service wasn't so slow, I would give them 5 stars. Been like this for years. But I still go because I like their food. I called 3 times to the Holland MI Waverly location to try and set up a catering order for 3 breakfast boxes and each phone call they said they were too busy to take down the order. Each phone call I said, you said that the last two times and Debbie replied, were a sandwich shop. Maybe set up catering online like every other sandwich shop, so that way you don't have to take phone calls & reject business. Our first time at this location. We noticed a line wrapped around inside but figured it was a rush time situation. All the prices were covered on their menu. They said due to price increases prices have changed. Which I can understand the time it takes to change a menu. But it isn't a great look for a chain restaurant. What we didn't expect was almost an hour wait for bagels?? They had three people working and it looked like they had a good supply and no one ever said oh we are short staffed or low on a certain bagel etc.. My husband said he had asked for his to be toasted and when it's arrived untoasted he didn't dare try to bring it up because he might have to wait another 15. VERY POOR SERVICE I arrived at the store at 15 S. Waverly at 7:50AM today. After waiting in line for a long time (short of staff IMO), I ordered "Everything bagels"...was told they were out. This is the THIRD time in the last month they were out of Everything bagels. I was told "we open at 5 AM...get here earlier" in a rude tone. I order Salt bagels...I paid a left. I have always loved this place. Getting bagels with my brother has always been somewhat of a tradition here. Whether it was for breakfast or comfort food or cheating on a diet... we tend to find ourselves here or at one of the many locations. Love the savory breakfast bagel options and also enjoy just a bagel with any of the delicious cream cheese options. Went in today by myself and was greeted with friendly service. There was a bit of a wait on the food but it wasn't horrible. I got my food to-go checked my bag and unfortunately did not get the muffin I paid for. After going back in to get it, they were very gracious and did not even ask to look at my receipt and helped me. Very happy overall with my visit here. read more

They gave me a bagel that was bite sized for most everybody and charged me 3$. Their strawberry cream cheese wasn't even mixed and was half just plain cream cheese and a couple strawberry's. Way too overpriced and an awful experience. read more

I stopped in to pick up bagels for my birthday to bring to work. I was happy to see that the price wasn't outrageous for a dozen like it is at some places. Even more surprised was I when I saw how big the bagels were. When I go to Einstein's I feel like I get a puny bagel. But here the bagels are pretty good sizes. I haven't had any sandwiches yet so I can't critique that just now. Which is why I have only a four star review. I'd give 'em 10 stars if I could! My wife and I started going here weekly when we were pregnant with our first child. We're now pregnant with our 4th child and still come almost weekly. This morning I was making my breakfast run and as I stop in and order my bagel and muffins there was a inconvenience that I felt wasn't handled well. I had all the muffins I was purchasing in a box already and was getting ready to pay as another associate comes over and says "Is there blueberry muffins in that box?" Which there were, she proceeded to tell the associate that she needed to take them out because someone else ordered them. One of my favorite breakfast spots - I feel like their quality and service are declining. They have been out of Diet Coke for 2 weeks in the fountain machine. This place on Waverly has great ambiance but one crucial shortcoming: slow-as-molasses WiFi. That's a deal-breaker for someone like me that needs to sit and do a little work with my coffee and bagel. All they need to do is ask what service Biggby across the street uses and set up the same service. Problem solved. I'd much rather sit in front of the lovely fireplace at Big Apple, but for now, I'm stuck with Biggby.
