So very good! Great home cooked, soul food! Good prices too. Will definitely return. And you don't have to wash the dishes!

I am so glad I came here. It may not look like much on the outside, but man this place is wonderful. They offer an all you can eat buffet with free tea or coffee for $8 (including tax)! And the food is amazing. To be fair, I'm not from the south, but this was delicious. Fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, the most wonderful chicken and dumpling soup, cornbread, sweet potatoes, salad, pecan pie, cobbler are just some of what's offered. I wish I was larger so I could eat more! If you're looking for a place with high quality food, a great price, and incredibly friendly staff, this is it.

Today was the first time we ate here and it was delicious! If you are looking for home-cooked style southern food, you will LOVE this place! It doesn't have much curb appeal (that's what kept us from going in for years) but there are always tons of cars in the parking lot so we figured we'd give it a shot. We LOVED the home cooked mashed potatoes & gravy, fried chicken, fried okra, fried green tomatoes and nice salad and dessert bar. Bathrooms were a little old and messy but we went for the food and it did NOT disappoint! We will definitely be going back!

Real mashed taters and gravy and delicious veggies. Don't miss the Rutabagas.

Have passed by this place many times. Today was my first visit at lunch. These places can be really good or really bad. This place was really good. I enjoyed everything. The food is homestyle meat and country veggies in an all you can eat format. You pay as you arrive. Lunch and tea... $11. Very reasonable! I could tell the food is all prepared with country style TLC. There are too many options to list here. The fried chicken was really well done. There is a big salad table as well as a yummy dessert table. The servers are Country friendly and attentive. The place is super clean... including the restroom. The Mgr., Brenda came over to ask if I enjoyed it since it was my first visit. Their menu changes a bit every day. Friday more seafood... Wednesday.. Beef Tips plus lots more. Come here hungry and expecting a really nice time. Open daily till 9pm. Parking is easy out front. They have lots of tables for spreading as well as gloves and sanitizer. I ate 3 plates and am stuffed! I will be back often!

The food was terrible. The worse was the mac & cheese that glowed orange. Don't waste your money.

Okay for what it is, very popular with a the older generation but a lot of stuff isn't very well seasoned, or cooked to be honest.

The most expense buffet in Carrollton. Side dishes of bland food. The waitress are great. Wish the food was equal to the service.

I spoke later with someone who used to work at M&J's, and she spoke highly of the quality of the food.

Awkward Welcome, Bland Food, but Attentive Service Rating:…read more (2/5) Review (posted June 22, 2025): I visited Big Bear Asian Buffet at 6 PM on a Sunday evening, hoping for a fresh buffet experience during the dinner rush. Unfortunately, it fell short from the start. When I walked in, I followed the sign that said "Please wait to be seated." I stood there for several minutes as multiple waitresses looked at me but said nothing. It was uncomfortable. Eventually, a woman in a hoodie and sweatsuit appeared, said nothing, waved for me to follow her, and pointed at a table. Still no greeting, no words--just an awkward start to the meal. Once I was seated, one of the original waitresses came over to take my drink order. She ended up being the bright spot of the visit--very attentive and made sure my drink was always topped off. The food, however, didn't live up to expectations. Most of the hot dishes were lukewarm and lacked seasoning. I tried the sushi--five options total--and sadly, all were dry and very bland, like they'd been sitting out for a long time. Not what you'd hope for at prime dinner time. It's worth noting that the place seems to be a hotspot for locals picking up to-go boxes. I watched several people come in, pile food to the very top of their takeout containers, and head out within minutes. So maybe that's their main crowd--but it didn't do much to improve the dine-in experience. Bottom line: The service at the table was solid, but everything else--cold welcome, tired food, and lack of overall hospitality--makes it unlikely I'll return. There are better buffet options in the area where you'll feel like more than just another transaction.

But it wasn't a problem because the two girls checking us in were fast. They explained that it's three different buffets. This is where I get a little confused. So, you have the Seafood Buffet, the Country Cookin, and one more. Now we chose the Country Cookin, and it was beyond good. I went back for the beef tips and rice twice. The fried chicken was the crispiest I've ever had. The baked chicken was falling from the bones, and I had that with creamed corn and collard greens. Not many people can cook collard greens or creamed corn. I was very impressed. After my first two plates, I started to sample because I wanted to try all the food, and because each item had its own flavor and the way it was supposed to be cooked. I think this lady and I were about to rumble over the hushpuppies. We were both trying to figure out how they were made. I also had a big bowl of green beans, and I was elated to know these were cooked the old-fashioned way. I'm not a big fan of Blackberry Cobbler. But since everything I tried was good, I thought I should try the cobbler, and ten out of ten, it was the best. In overall this is really a good buffet.
