What I noticed about the location of this cabin was that it was further away from the heavy tourist areas but close enough to grocery stores, restaurants and shops. So if you are looking for peace and quiet this is the perfect getaway from the everyday stresses of life. This cabin includes a living room with a cute fireplace, a small but full kitchen with a eating area, full bathroom (water pressure is good and it heats up pretty quickly), a bedroom with a closet, access to the backyard, a front porch and a cozy loft with a flatscreen TV that I didn't touch once. I was primarily there solo to detox from the busy life of Los Angeles and not to ski since I was there beginning of May. Snuggle Bear Cabin had everything I needed to detox. I laid out my yoga mat and meditation pillow upstairs in the loft and it had an inviting view of tall trees out the window. It was a perfect environment to reflect on life, letting all creative juices flow, read and write. The solitude was exceptionally welcome. The final full day that I was there, my boyfriend came up to join me. And really...all we did was snuggle. I highly recommend this beautiful cabin for anyone to deeply relax and enjoy the natural wonders of Big Bear. Thank you, Melia, for his wonderful experience.

Rough experience start to finish…read more Poor communication. Lack of cleanliness. Broken amenities. I don't enjoy leaving comments that could potentially hurt someone's business but the issues kept piling up and the lack of care shown by management has to be communicated to others thinking about booking with this company. First, please know that check-in must be done at a separate office/location so plan for a pit stop on your way to your cabin. The first thing we noticed was a large piece of trash in the front yard. A big, wet cardboard box. Very obvious. Then we saw numerous piles of dog feces that had not been cleaned up in the backyard. One of them was right next to the hot tub. So many piles that it couldn't be anything but complete ignorance from the management. We then noticed that both the shower and the bathtub upstairs was out of order. The shower had a broken pipe covered with duct tape. The faucet that controls the plug in the bathtub was also broken so water would not hold in the tub essentially making it useless. That left one shower for the entire cabin that was actually somewhat functional. I say somewhat because you need body armor to protect yourself from the water pressure launching out of the shower head. Still, we were going to ignore it all and choose to have a good time. We weren't going to let it ruin our trip. Then the morning of check-out came. We receive a knock on our door at 11am saying that check-out was 10am. However, we asked for a late check-out before we stayed for the weekend. The custodial staff that was there said they contacted the office and the office claimed that was never promised. Another frustration but miscommunication happens. We gather our things and leave. After we left management continued to text my friend that booked the cabin saying that she was wrong about the late checkout. We already left and tried to put this experience behind us. Why would you continue to harass someone? Baffled really. Lack of attention to detail. Complete absence of communication for the broken showers. Blatant ignorance of cleanliness with the backyard. Unprofessional interactions with guests. Please look elsewhere when selecting a cabin.

We contacted the property managers right away and were told they would send someone out to address it right away. No one ever showed up and weeks later we were told that the technician indeed came before and during our stay and fixed the issue (they did not as you can see from the photos) but for our troubles they would offer us a credit of $19 for the hot tub fee. We rented the "lakeview manor" (luxury cabin) conveniently located right behind oakside restaurant. Walking distance to the village was only 3-5 minutes! When booking with Lakefront Cabins they offer a 20% discount on boat rentals through pleasure point marina. We took advantage of this great value. Lakeview Manor cabin comes with an AC/DC pin ball machine, when I went to play it, one of the flippers wasn't working so I sent a service request out to Lake front cabins and they immediately sent a technician. Within an hour it was fixed. Very much appreciated! The cabin is equipped with oversized TV's, state of the art fireplaces, and modern style finishes throughout. It's a must stay if you're planning on visiting big bear.

I am very plugged into the Big Bear rental community and have used other property managers in the past. I have also stayed as a guest in vacation rentals in Big Bear prior to owning my own. I was told years ago when we were looking for a new manager that Leanne was "best on the mountain" and after 4+ years I have to say we agree with that sentiment. She has her own properties up in Big Bear as well so she really understands what's important. She has somehow managed to form a highly effective team which is no small feat in Big Bear as it is often difficult to find hard workers! That alone is very impressive. Leanne has kept our place booked consistently these last 4 years even with all the challenges of being on the mountain (fires, blizzards, road closures, etc). If I ever reach out directly to Leanne she always responds promptly so she is very accessible to the home owners. Some of the reasons we left our last prop manager were because we were getting bad renters, last minute cancellations, and they did not support a higher end of service we wanted to provide (more amenities, personal touch, etc). With Leanne everything runs very smoothly and we have never been told they could not support what we wanted to do. I recommend Leanne all the time to others and some of my friends are also using her for their vacation rentals as well. If you are looking for a property manager I recommend interviewing 4-5 as they all vary and you want the best fit for your situation. Leanne was so easy to talk to and I read her management agreement in advance before deciding. You can learn a lot about the different PMs by reading there contracts!

On timing, we were told cleaning was signed off around 3:40-3:50 PM and we weren't given access to the unit until nearly 4:00 PM. By the host's own timeline, that leaves only a 10-20 minute window for this to have happened after cleaning -- or the unit wasn't properly cleaned to begin with. Either way, it should have been caught before a family with small children moved in. As for the house rules disclosing general wildlife possibility in Big Bear: a blanket disclosure doesn't excuse an active, uncleaned health hazard in the room our kids were about to sleep in. On "solution after solution": When we first called the property's staff, we were told there was no reported active issue at the unit -- no remediation or transfer was offered at that point. It was only after we contacted Airbnb support directly that a possible move to another property came up, and by then we chose to stay with family instead rather than lose more time getting our kids settled. To be clear, we never requested compensation, a discount, or anything beyond the refund for the booking we could no longer stay at and the playpen deposit. The mention of a future discount, and later a free stay at the owner's personal cabin, were both raised unprompted by her staff and the owner -- I only followed up to ask about the discount after her team had already brought it up, and we ultimately declined the cabin offer. On the Venmo/deposit point: This wasn't in my original review because it wasn't relevant to it; the owner raised it. For accuracy: we received both the Airbnb refund and the playpen deposit refund in full. The mismatch was in urgency -- the deposit was requested and paid promptly to get our kids settled, but getting it returned took three follow-up messages over a full day before it was processed that night. On the unannounced visit: While I was upstairs on the phone with Airbnb support trying to resolve this, the host sent an unfamiliar man to the property without confirming who was there or where. My wife and our two young children were downstairs. Regardless of exact positioning, having a stranger show up unannounced during an active safety complaint is not okay. On the personal outreach: We heard nothing from the owner personally until after this review was posted. At that point, she called, left a lengthy voicemail, and sent numerous long texts to my personal phone. Some of what was shared in that contact was inappropriate and unrelated to the situation, and I won't detail it here out of respect for her privacy -- but the manner and timing of it were unprofessional. Our original review reflected an accurate, factual account of what happened. We stand by it and won't be engaging further in the comments.

Our group of 17, including five kids ( 5 years and under), was looking forward to a relaxing weekend getaway in a cabin with beautiful views. What we got instead was a nightmare that started in the early morning hours of January 25, 2025. We checked in around 4:15 PM on January 24, full of excitement. But by 3:30 AM (Jan 25), we lost power. It was pitch dark, and we were left scrambling to find anything we could to make it through the night. With five young children, we decided to wait until morning to figure things out. The power briefly came back on, giving us a glimmer of hope, only to go out again by 8:30 AM. The hosts assured us the power would be back on soon, mentioning that "their church still had power." As if that somehow made it better. We decided to go into town, spending a few hundred dollars on food that was as mediocre as it was overpriced while dragging five tired, cranky kids along for the ride. Fast forward to us talking to the locals and the electric company, only to discover that this was a planned outage, which we were never told about. Had we known, we would have rescheduled our trip for another weekend. But no, we were told the power would be back by 3 PM. Spoiler: it wasn't. We returned to the cabin, still holding out hope, but by 5 PM, it was clear we were getting nowhere. Our texts to the hosts provided no help other than suggesting going back into town to go have dinner and saying "well our other guests are making the most of it." By 6:30 PM, we were freezing in a house with no heat, no light, and only one lonely candle the hosts kindly provided. We were sitting in our snow gear and still could not warm up! We realized we had to cut our trip short. All of our food was spoiled--hundreds of dollars down the drain. We had no choice but to pack up and leave, braving the mountain roads in fog so thick we could not see more than 75 ft ahead of us while also dealing with snow fall and some hail. The hosts tried to claim the storm didn't start until Sunday night in a response to another review, but we have dashcam footage and photos showing substantial snow on the ground Sunday morning. I have attached a video of the END of our hour and a half Drive down the mountain. This is when conditions became clearer. The first hour and 20 minutes of the drive down were 20x worse than the video. While we don't expect the hosts to control the power outage ( obviously) , the complete lack of communication, preparation, and empathy was downright appalling. No flashlights, no candles, and certainly no offer to make things right. We had to fight tooth and nail just to get $2,000 back from a $4,000 trip. So, we essentially paid $2,000 to have a cabin with power for less than 12 hours, watch most of our food go bad, and then make a dangerous drive down the mountain with crying kids in tow. What a vacation. Hosts/owners of the company respond with snide comments and are rude to anyone who gives them ANY criticism. You can see for yourself HERE and on the AirBnB reviews. Shows you more about their character than anything I can say. If you're looking for kind, responsible, considerate hosts and a place where you might actually get what you paid for, do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. This place? Not it. You've been warned.
