Captain yelled jump and the kid delivered!

Captain Chris makes the 1.5 hours go by in a snap. We toured the entire lake and between his commentary and knowledge about lake history, famous residents etc and the awesomeness of Big Bear Lake, you have a combo that's tough to beat. 30 bucks or so for a senior is the best bargain on the hill. I happened to catch a good pic of a diver doing a flip off the rocks! Thank you Chris!!

While staying in Sugarloaf making memories. I was searching for local thing's to do with my mother in law safely who has Dementia during these tempatures. What could be better a Boat ride she can enjoy ! Captain Jack !!!! Big Bear Queen tours was a quick and easy process. Just a few clicks online. Pick the day, time slot, send payment, your off on your way to enjoy a 90 mintue tour full of history on big bear lake, the dam !!! Cannot give you more info than that. I choose the 5pm slot hoping to catch views of the sunset coming back in from ride. You cab bring snacks aboard boat carry on pack out. Now that's a great deal. Besides making memories while living in a Dementia world. Captian Jack's Big Queen Bear boat 90 is Dog Friendly Yes !!!!! I'm sold. Well behaved dogs folks. 430 my family and I arrived at parking lot eager beavers we arrived 30 minutes early. We walked on down to catch our boat we were asked to seat ourselves above deck in which I choose to sit with Leo. As be began to descend Captian Jack introduced himself. He is a one man show 7 days a week. He has been providing a relaxing ride with rich knowledgeable history! At the end of the trip just as we are about to exit. Captian Jack offered to be our and every single patron on board photographer. He took 3 photos and we were happy. Wear plenty protection of sun screen if sitting above deck. I most definitely will be back to enjoy another ride. Only downfall we spoke about was the fee for senior which is reasonable however, we noticed the booking fee per senior was at $5.22 booking in which she actually paid for an adult seat plus she was charged more for booking than we were umm ??? I'm a private caregiver so any discounts I can get for my seniors to enjoy themselves I'm all about ! BTW I sat above deck right in back to capture photos downfall I could not hear the history well on board. I had wonderful wind flags flapping behind me. It was truly hard to choose from where to sit.

Great tour by Captain Chris. My recommendation: do this tour right when you get to big bear. Lots of local tips and great perspective on things to do! Outstanding tour, service and information! You might even get to hear Bugs Bunny!

Captain or skipper Chris was a delight! My husband and I came here for our 4th wedding anniversary and throughout the tour we saw so many new aspects to the lake we had never heard of before. We have been coming to Big Bear for most of our relationship but this tour was something we should have done as long time ago! Thank you Big Bear Queen for showing us a new side to a place we already loved so much!

The family and I took a little tour so we can learn about big bear itself. Our skipper Chris was a good host and taught us some good stuff about big bear. If you're up here during the summer you might as well explore the lake and learn new things. We'll be back for winter! Enjoy and stay safe.

We went out on the first trip of 2024 and the lake was so beautiful and high. Chris, was so great and knowledgeable! He was friendly and well spoken. We really enjoyed the trip. It was comfortable and roomy too. We went around the whole lake and it was awesome. We would take the tour again and will be sure to share the recommendation with family and friends. And my tip for any passengers because I noticed we were the only ones who did tip that it's really nice to do that, he did everything for the trip alone and it runs so smoothly!

Had a great time on the lake! My twin boys have autism. Chris was great and very patient.

We had a great time and learned a LOT! The bonus was when we went by the voice of the late Bugs Bunny's house! So cool that his son comes out and still talks to us about the history of the house and Big Bear! Thank you for a great time!

Jackie the Big Bear Lake momma eagle!!!

Captain Chris was amazing Sunday morning as he took us on a special Eagle Birdwatching tour. We were rewarded with an amazing 20 minute viewing of Big Bear's celebrity eagle Jackie!!! I highly recommend that you check out the Big Bear Queen when you want to go out on our beautiful lake!!!

    Beautiful lake view.

I understand that as a business you need to make a profit- they don't confirm the tour unless they have 15 people. However, that makes it frustrating as a customer. Our purchase request was for Saturday at noon. However, there was no status update prior to Saturday. I called at 10:20am the day of to see if it was still happening but was told that they wouldn't know until 11am. I then called back again at 11:15am and they still couldn't tell me if the tour was happening. They ended up calling at 11:25am to say it was cancelled (only 5 minutes before their 11:30am check in time). This business model leaves customers waiting literally until the last few minutes which makes it hard for anyone visiting for the weekend to enjoy their time and plan their day accordingly.

The "pirate" boat ride was essentially just a regular boat ride with a captain dressed as a pirate. Other than that, there was really nothing pirate-themed about it. No pirate stories, activities, games, or entertainment. The kids did get to take turns steering the boat, which was probably the highlight of the entire experience. The music kept cutting out because of Bluetooth issues, and at one point random ads started playing over the speakers, which definitely took away from the atmosphere. At the end, the kids got to pick a toy from a treasure chest, but most of the items looked like inexpensive dollar-store trinkets. Overall, the ride was pretty boring and felt like a missed opportunity. With a little effort, this could be a really fun family attraction, but as it stands, it didn't deliver on the pirate experience that was advertised. We love Holloway's and will absolutely continue supporting the marina, but this is not an activity we would spend money on again or recommend to friends looking for a memorable pirate adventure.

We got in touch with the guy who's name was being used to run the scam - he's really close with and previously worked with the people that work at the marina. He confirmed that this company had been sold, and it turns out they weren't taking reservations. The marina is also investigating what's going on. Someone is using the guy's name, Adam, to answer the phone and using a google powered online booking system under this company's name to collect the fee and then doesn't show up, disconnects the phone line, etc. We let our bank know, now the original Adam knows, and the marina does too. We rented a cruising pontoon about a week before we headed up and made the reservation for 10:30am for 6 people. Little did we know the current heat wave would also be up in the mountains. Saturday morning the power was out all across Big Bear and we arrived right at our reservation time instead of early due to it taking 4 twenty somethings waaaay to long to get ready without power. The parking lot was packed and we got the last 2 parking spots. The staff was helping many large groups inside and we had to wait a bit. No big deal as we knew with the heat everyone would like to be out on the lake on this gorgeous day, and the woman who checked us in was very nice and attentive. Once checked in we were told we had been upgraded to a luxury pontoon due to so many bookings that day and no cruising pontoons available at our check-in time! North Shore Landing for the win! We went down to the dock and met the sweetest young woman working there. She had dark hair and an accent, but I didn't catch her name. She was awesome and funny and the whole family got a kick out of her. She is a superstar and was working her tail off! The pontoon was very nice and clean. Had to use a towel to get some spiderwebs off that had shown up in some different parts on the pontoon, but we were first in the boat that day and I know it is the mountains and the spiders show up every night and make some webs. No big deal and easily rectified. We got underway all in all about 20 minutes after our scheduled time and had a great time for the almost 4 hours we were on the lake! Made many laps around the lake, ate lunch, and had some drinks on the boat. Bummer the stereo and speakers did not work, nor the onboard sink, but we brought our own speaker and still were able to jam out. Everyone loved it and when we came back and the staff were very helpful with my terrible first parking attempt (been many years since I drove a boat) and then helped us all off and our items and took a great picture of all of us. Thanks for the great weekend and memories NSL!
