The five nights in Big Bear was amazing at our Moulin Rouge cozy cabin. It was about a 15 minute walk to downtown to the village. There were so many fun restaurants to go to..Puptopia was in town. Live music at 572 social. Stephanie at the rental office helped me find the perfect cabin that we were looking for. Everything was super clean had lots of space, Jacuzzi on our patio. We went to every night. We will be back again. This company has great customer service before you get there and during your stay. read more

This management company is a complete scam and absolutely ruined what would have been a wonderful, well planned trip to Big Bear for the weekend. We first booked one of their properties on Airbnb (5 of us total), and right off the bat upon getting to our rental, we find out that the central heating system, clearly advertised on the listing, was not working. This is an absolute must in Big Bear in the winter, as temperatures are below freezing at night. After contacting maintenance and waiting about an hour for them to send someone over to the property, we learned that there was nothing they could do to fix it and our only options were to deal with it, or to be relocated to another one of their properties. We chose to be relocated, only to find the relocation property to be completely filthy, broken, and absolutely inadequate. I'm talking human excrement and blood in the toilet and around the bathroom, closet doors off the hinges, beds not made, sheets not cleaned, lighting not working... the list goes on. It looked like a college frat house after a huge rager. Absolutely unfit, unsafe, and unsanitary. We called back only to have them try to relocate us again. The final place they sent us to only had 2 beds (again there were 5 of us), had a really sickening odor, and looked and felt like a creepy, dilapidated, slasher cabin from a horror movie (no joke). We immediately declined, now being 8:30pm and had to book a motel for the night. The party that booked the Airbnb has already demanded a refund and will be filing a claim with Airbnb. We are still awaiting resolution. Because of this incompetence, we missed out on our dinner reservations, had to independently book rooms separately from the people we came with, and lost out on our plans for the next day costing us hundreds of dollars. Big Bear Vacations completely ruined our trip. On top of that, they also sent us a contract upon our first booking that said they'd charge us if any furniture was moved in the property at all along with an entire list of completely petty, BS charges that they would tack on for mostly regular use "issues" that was not previously disclosed on the Airbnb listing. This company are slumlords and scammers. AVOID AT ALL COST, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. We will absolutely never ever ever book with them again and will tell everyone we know to avoid them like the plague. Awful management companies like this are literally why the Airbnb market is crashing now. Who wants to put up with this garbage and have this kind of experience for $450 a night after taxes and fees?? Just book a hotel or at the very least, be super careful who you book with on third party apps and rental sites. Would give negative stars if I could, this company should be out of business. read more

We rented a cabin from this place on Thursday and checked in Saturday afternoon. Upon inspection of the rental we found numerous rat droppings in every room. When speaking with Big Bear Vacations they opted to first clean the place and when we advised this is a major health issue and asked to be moved they said there was no other option and all rentals are booked. Looking up their site we found a rental available however they refuse to put us up there because it's more money. Now trying to get a refund they will only allow half returned. Be careful with this company if you rent and make sure you inspect the places. To be honest I didn't want to leave any stars as this has been an horrible experience. Short version: Things didn't work- management said they'd stay in touch, compensate, and work with us- management lied and did none of the above. Long version: Oven didn't work, and we said it was fine. Traded for late check-out. We called the night before to see when late check-out was, reception said nothing was noted, and we didn't have late check-out. Office reached out to management who said they'd call us in the morning- you guessed it, they never called. It basically ruined our last night and final morning, since we were worried the entire time about check-out. Turns out, Luis (management) lied- he wasn't even in the next day. Heater also didn't work when we got there. Couldn't be fixed that night, and if not for the handyman, we would've frozen to death. He said the office had space heaters, so he brought some over. Office never even offered. FYI- all handymen that came by were amazing. After late check-out debacle, and radio silence, office said management would call us about compensation for lack of communication. Never called. Piss poor customer service. Other things went wrong with other properties (handyman had a bunch of other calls- no hot water, no water at all, us, etc.). If something goes wrong, no one'll work with you since you paid them already. We rented through Airbnb, but we won't rent from them again. They're awful. read more

We love Shore acres. Cute little waterfront cabins. The cabins are fully equipped. We love staying there. It's peaceful and relaxing. Could live there. This is cabin 108. I do prefer the yellow one next to it as it is a little bigger. This one has way better bathrooms though. Each cabin is darling in its own way. read more

We had high hopes for a beautiful property and were unfortunately deeply disappointed with this company. We paid almost $1,000 for a two night stay and the property fell short in multiple aspects. The company decided to lock the thermostat to reset to 64 every two hours at night when it was freezing outside. For the price we paid it seemed like a very cheap way to save money at the expense of guests. My family left with a cold due to sleeping at that temperature. Further the last person that used the washer also left bleach in it and it ruined a full load of our clothes, which are now stained. The property manager contacted me and offered a 15% future discount, which they then offered to apply to this stay. Somehow their 15% discount on a $1,000 stay worked out to $53. I would strongly advise future guests from using a company that doesn't accept responsibility for their mistakes. There are tons of individuals in Big Bear that care about the community and work to make it great, I would suggest seeking out individual hosts instead of a corporation that doesn't care about guests. read more

Truthfully this business doesn't even deserve 1 star. If you are looking for run down, filthy, unsafe properties for you and your family this is the rental company for you. We have been vacationing in Big Bear for almost 20 years using a variety of different rental companies and have NEVER left a property in the middle of the night 30 mins after arriving. We arrived to the Bear Tracks cabin and were totally deceived by the pictures listed and what we arrived to. What I would call the old bait and switch. First let me say the cabin was completely unsecured with all the windows being left open and unlocked with one of the screens being bent off and looked like someone had made entry to the cabin that way. We were unable to secure the cabin and had no idea if someone was in there as there was a door to an attic we could not see up into and a double side locked door we didn't know if someone was on the other side of. I was with my two kids and there was absolutely NO chance we were going to risk sleeping there. Secondly the cabin was absolutely filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, if not longer. The jacuzzi we paid for was absolutely disgusting and unable to even be used. My son went to close the curtains and the whole rod fell down on his head. Very lucky he had fast response or could have been horrible. I reached out immediately to BBV and said we need to move cabins. They said our only option was a cabin across town (away from all activities planned for the 4th) with only limited amenities that we paid for. No other choice we had to at least stay night as it was 11pm and my husband couldn't drive after working all day. We get to other cabin, can't even remember what name was which was not much cleaner (pictures of 2nd cabin provided as well as we arrived to bloody tissue in the bathroom and dirty towels and soap everywhere) but at least we could secure there was no one else with us. We tried to leave the next morning however found out our reservations were non refundable for a boat rental and horseback riding planned which we would lose out $900. We were late to all of activities due to being on other side of the lake and 4th of July traffic trying to get around the lake. We ended up checking out a night early right after our boat obligations and just wanted to go home. So absolutely beyond frustrating when you plan a beautiful vacation and take expensive time off work to be rented disgusting run down, unsafe junk. Reached out to BBV and after almost a week of constant hounding Angel finally returned my call. Did offer a very partial return of money nothing nearly close to what we spent and what we went through in this nightmare. When the return hit my bank it wasn't even for the amount he stated, it was of course less and now will again not return my call. I definitely need to write for the Big Bear Vacations and their management team. The place was super dusty and dirty. Spiders were crawling up and down from their webs all over the place specially the bathroom ( I killed 8 big spiders just in the bathroom). There was black hair on the sheets looked like the sheets were never washed and cleaned. Cabin was never vacuumed because the floor and under the beds were full of dust and crumbs. We had to vacuum the place and clean it up so we can stay. We left the next day because we couldn't stay another night. On top of that, if you leave any belongings behind, you have to forget about it because they won't return it back to you. We left rings on the night stands and we called the management right away and they said we can't find it which was a lie and they didn't do anything about the dirtiness and dusty place. Big Bear Vacations only think about renting the place and doesn't care about customer service. They are very nice at first but once you have needs to questions, they turn their back on you. This was the worst trip ever! I will NEVER use VRBO again!! the cabin was handled through a horrible company Big Bear Vacations! We had ants throughout the whole kitchen EVERYDAY, when no foods were left out. Would not give address or key information until we arrived in town when told we would get the info in the morning, our check in was at noon! they kept telling me that they had to wait for housekeeping to clean before they could give me info. We pulled up and "housekeeping" was ONE man who arrived at the same time, with a broom who brushed 5 out of 100 cobwebs from the cabin. I had to keep pointing them out to him!! Water heater stopped working after 1 individual showered (7 min shower) as rest of us had to take ice cold showers! Carpets were horribly stained. The property mgmt would only use texts which I found unprofessional! THEY ARE THE WORST!! read more

This was the best little getaway our family has had in ages. The entire process was so nice and convenient. Booking was quick and easy, and the communication was on point every step of the way. I love the fact that any question I had was answered immediately via text and the check in/out instructions were sent via text and email for me to reference whenever needed. Now the cabin... AMAZING!! We arrived later than expected due to road closures and traffic, but the place was lit up with the heat going and nice music playing as we walked in. We stayed in The Pyramid, and the place was gorgeous and cozy. Fully furnished, full kitchen with appliances, CLEAN and just overall exactly what we were looking for. Backyard was closed off for our pups to get out and the front drive had an easy to close gate as well for us to park inside. Let's start with the positive... the chalet & views were spectacular! We truly enjoyed the cabin/bear theme throughout the home, and loved the views of the ski slops and mountains. Thankfully it was very clean & basic toiletries were provided, thank you! However, when you charge such a premium price for the holiday & rental, we expect to not have issues. Unfortunately - the fireplace was gas, not wood as advertised, and didn't function properly. There was no resolution while we were there. Second, the deck furniture was missing all the cushions so we were unable to spend time outdoors as advertised. This was also not resolved while we were staying. Third, the TVs required a PIN that was not provided to us until day 3 when we asked. We were provided an incorrect code, and had to have a maintenance guy prove we entered it right before the owners gave us the correct code. May seem like minor inconveniences, but again, when you pay a premium and it's for the holiday, we expected much better on the minor items as well. read more

I stayed at The Pines Retreat over the weekend. Once we arrive I was about to cook dinner for all 16 of us. I noticed the stove did not have the knob to the oven, I messaged them and they sent someone to check it out around 9pm. He could not do anything about, said it's been broken for a while. How can you rent these properties without making sure everything is working. I was told someone would get back to me, I'm still waiting. Horrible customer service, I had to go buy more groceries to cook on the stove top. I should get some type of refund. read more

Prior to booking this location I had been staying elsewhere every time we came up to Big Bear, so I was hesitant as I have never stayed in an Air BnB...didn't know what to expect, but what I expected is exactly what we got...A CABIN ON A LAKE! It was an older cabin, so yes it wasn't a 5 star Marriott and somethings weren't perfect, but it was clean, safe and perfect for what we were there at the Lake to do..BE OUT ON THE LAKE! Checkin-was very easy and quick Communication with the staff-BEYOND 5 star, both prior to getting there and while we were there, I just sent a text and they responded instantly! (We needed more toilet paper, they were at our door w/in 5 mins, we had questions about the pool, they responded in seconds) Cabin-VERY SPACIOUS, had ALL the amenities we needed, full kitchen, full fridge and freezer, 2 bathrooms BOTH with showers, WIFI, CABLE, and TV's in 2 of the 3 rooms. HUGE comfy couch and AWESOME DECK with an abundance of chairs and tables to sit outside on! Overall, this was an amazing trip. We were less than 50 yards from the lake as promised to us upon making our reservation. We had our kayaks in the water at least 12 hours our of each day we were there b/c it was so simple to carry them down and back up! It was VERY quiet and the view was absolutely amazing! This is my second time staying at this property. I really appreciate the front deck, sitting outside in the cold weather with a cup of coffee in the morning is my favorite part. I also like how there is plenty of space for multiple families/couples. We had all the items we needed, and love having the option of the hot tub. We got into a fierce game of ping-pong and loved the large dining room table for a spirited game of spoons. All in all, we really appreciate getting out of the Las Vegas heat and enjoying the weekend of respite in the mountains. read more

This is for people to be aware that you must be diligent in your search for good and clean accomodations. My wife and I decided to take a few days and enjoy big bear lake. We made reservations with this company which we had rented this cabin before with no Issues. This time around was a complete and huge disappointment because of the things that were wrong with this cabin. The shower would not drain so you were standing in 3 inches of water and who knows what else! The shower curtain had mold growing up from the sitting water.The toilet seat was held on with one bolt so it moved sideways 2 Inches each way, the dishes were put away with food on them and we had to wash them to use them, the bathroom had not been swept or mopped with stains and hair all over the floor. The barbecue grill did not work so out goes the Idea of a barbecue. I of course called the company and spoke to a young woman that mentioned that she would bring it up with her supervisor and call me back. She also offered to have the maintenance crew come out and deal with it and I said no because we were not going to babysit a crew on our time away. I asked her to talk to her supervisor and requested some sort of reimbursement for this. She offered to let us a stay an extra 2 hours for free. How Fun!! I told her that would not make the situation any better.She Never called back and I had to text the office to see if I could get a hold of someone to get any resoulution to this. Their answer after they finally texted back was SORRY, That was it. So my wife and I used the shower as little as possible and made the best of everything else. Because we are clean people and don't hold it against the owners of the cabin that don't know this going on, we left the cabin in way better shape than we found it out of respect for the owners. As for the rental company, I would rather sleep in a tent than give them any more hard earned money!! read more

This was our first trip to Big Bear Lake, and we stayed in two different pet-friendly cabins - Village Retreat and Moulin Rouge. Our favorite feature of the first cabin was the large, fenced backyard - perfect for our pup. We also appreciated the short walk to the village. The only reason we left for a different cabin was because we decided to extend our stay and Village Retreat was already booked. The interior was the star at Moulin Rouge - very updated with high ceilings. We loved having the hot tubs at both locations and felt that the price for each rental was very reasonable. We will definitely be back to Big Bear Lake and will absolutely rent through Big Bear Vacations. read more
