Another wonderful family stay at Frank's cabin. We have stayed there 4 times now and love everything about it. This time we rented a pontoon boat at the Big Bear Marina with our Dog Harvick. Boating isn't just for people....LOL We did lots of shopping at Pine Knot Village, had lunch at Saucy Mama's Pizzeria and ice cream at the North Pole Fudge Co. This management company was nothing but problems from the start! TO THOSE THINKING ABOUT USING THEM FOR MGMT SERVICES: I enlisted them to represent my cabin, which is one of the most beautiful in Big Bear Lake--designed by a leading interior designer from Newport Beach--and thankfully I was one of the cabin owners who would look at my monthly statements. I started noticing charges for things that weren't done--like cleanings (I knew they weren't done because on my Ring I would notice a cleaning crew of two people go into my cabin and exit 5 minutes later and never return!) I'd be charged ~$120 for this "cleaning"! I would call them out on this and they would then give me the runaround, saying things like, "oh, we're sorry and we'll get you paid on the next billing cycle." Well, they at times would reimburse me 60 or even 90 days later! Other times they would charge me $30 to change out a lightbulb!! Then when I would address this with my account rep they would say something idiotic like, "oh, it was a fancy bulb, which is why it costs so much." So I went to the local store and the bulb was $4.29! Then they would come back with, "oh, it's our labor charge." Then I would say but you guys were already there "cleaning", why the labor charge like that?! You see where I'm going with this. TO THOSE THINKING ABOUT USING THEM FOR RENTING A CABIN WHILE ON VACATION: Big Bear Vacations DOES NOT do a good job cleaning!!! I know from them representing my cabin (after a cleaning I would go check their work and would oftentimes (like 8 out of 10 times) have to call them to have them come out and RE-clean! I spoke about this with a neighbor of mine and she said she fired Big Bear Vacations due to the same thing! One of the parties that stayed at her cabin complained of bed bugs! I called Big Bear Vacations and told them that I'm looking into a class action lawsuit against them for fraudulent practices (if they were charging me money for services that were never rendered then I'm sure they were charging others for the same things). They told me they'd give me all my money back--but look at the most recent communication with them (two attached screenshots)--apparently they forgot they told me they'd give me my money. SMH TO THE BIG BEAR VACATIONS OWNERS: I'm filing a grievance with the city of Big Bear Lake and there's a good chance your practices will now be uncovered--I won't stop! read more

We made a reservation 67 months ago upon our arrival the cabin was dirty. Unkept beds weren't made matter fact there was no mattresses in the beds poor communication, poor Customer Service and overall we were unable to secure a cabin and we drove three hours with a large party and you would think booking 6-7 months in advance, the cabin would be ready. They sent a new link and that cabin wasn't available so now we're having to sleep in our cars, because everything is booked. The cutest cabin ! We shared with another couple and their little plus our two (3 toddlers altogether) They had a separate bedroom for the kids with bunks and even toys for them to play with . Not to mention the game room more suitable for older kids and adults downstairs ! I had a very disappointing experience with this company. I reserved a cabin for the holidays and purchased the travel insurance. My credit card was charged, but I did not receive the lease agreement until I contacted the company yesterday. After informing them that I was cancelling the reservation for medical reasons, I was still asked to sign the agreement. Since then, I have experienced significant delays and inconsistent communication, and the company has not honored the insurance coverage or issued the expected refund. Due to the lack of professionalism and transparency throughout this process, I will not be booking with this company again and am now considering my legal options. read more

Just had the best weekend in Big Bear thanks to the BigBear Vacation Rentals! The house was stunning and clean. It had all the necessities and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make "home cooked" meals! Fire wood burning fireplace, central heat, a nice backyard to the lake, it's a perfect getaway for all seasons! Also walking distance to the Village and just a minute away from the Alpine slides. We've had great experiences with Stephanie Ruland with Big Bear Vacation Rentals. We first used her services three years ago when she saved us from a terrible experience with another company. We arrived intown after long booked and confirmed with another company, just to have them tell us upon arrival they overbooked and they had no room for us. I didn't know what to do, and we had reservations to ski shortly upon arrival. In the parking lot of a ski resort, I found Big Bear Vacation Rentals online, and Stephanie helped us. She was AMAZING! Found us a fabulous, BIGGER place, with better amenities for the same price we would have paid! Within 10 mins of my call, we were completely setup with a new place right around the corner! You can imagine how stressful a situation like that can be, and she was a lifesaver! From then on we ONLY use Stephanie to book our annual ski trip. She's professional, communicative, prompt, and lovely to work with. The places she picks out for us are AWESOME! Beautiful homes with great amenities that are very well kept, clean and cozy! We had an amazing stay over the weekend at the fawnskin cabin. The cabin had amazing view of the lake and all the amenities provided were top notch. We were flattered by the s'mores bar, and the family spent some quality time chilling at the fire grill seating enjoying outdoors after long day at the village. The room was very dusty, the restroom walls behind the toilet and the tub wall had what appeared to be copper colored spots on them. The shower stall above was caked with dust and the bathroom floor was dirty in the corners. The stay was wonderful. Our cabin was beautiful, super clean, and looked like it was recently renovated. We loved that it was a one story because we had two young children with us. The level driveway was awesome. What could go wrong, right? We were supposed to be able to check in at 4:00. We weren't able to check in until 4:40. Housecleaning apparently is short-staffed and the cabin wasn't ready. It was very cold outside. We were not happy that we had to wait so long to enter. There were no trash bags left for us (luckily we had brought our own) no coffee maker (We requested one and they promised they would deliver one, but NEVER did, so we bought our own), lots of towels but only 2 hand towels for the 7 of us, not even 1 pod of laundry detergent, no paper towels. Worst thing is, we originally reserved this property from VRBO, then it was transferred to Vacasa, then again to Big Bear Vacations. Since it was transferred to Big Bear Vacations, I've had nothing but problems. First, they cancelled my reservation. I had to fight them to get it back, but somewhere between Vacasa and Big Bear Vacations our down payment was LOST. Big Bear staff could care less and was unwilling to help in any way. To this date (1/7/26- our trip was 12/27 - 12/30) I still haven't received my down payment back. Beware, this company couldn't care less about their customers. They'll give you lip service, but that is it. I will never rent from Big Bear Rentals again. read more

We stayed in cabin #106. Overall, the cabin itself was okay. The biggest pro is definitely the location -- it's just a 30-second walk to the lake, which was super convenient. Right nearby there's a playground and a pool, which made it great for kids. The grounds are actually pretty nice, with games, a grill, ping pong, and swings. There's even a private pier where you can watch the sunset or do a little fishing. Now for the cons, and they mostly apply to this specific cabin. The place is really old and wasn't clean. There was a thick layer of dust under the beds -- we normally wouldn't look, but with little kids, we had to. It was honestly pretty gross. The closets were also a disappointment. Neither had hooks or any way to organize clothes, and they were partially filled with what looked like the owner's stuff. One closet even had a broken door just leaning there. So, overall, I'd give it a 6 out of 10. If you get a great price and don't mind an outdated cabin, the location and lake access do make up for some of the flaws. read more

I texted the number to advise and the maintenance dep. arrived promptly, they were able to fix a couple of heaters , some they couldn't. There were electric heaters available for use. We were very excited to stay at the Luxury Lodge #1888 cabin with Big Bear Vacation. Unfortunately the cabin fell short on our expectations multiple times. Proper working heater and hot water are the basic expectation when renting a cabin in December in Big Bear. Having to notify Big Bear Vacations numerous of times each day during our 2 night stay to just get heat and hot water fixed for 7 children and 5 adults is unbelievable. First incident, we understand things happen but It becomes ridiculous when I have to notify property management just about each time we need to use the heater to warm up the cabin or get hot water for showers. Adjusting our plans to accommodate maintenance issue in a cabin that we had rented should have NEVER happened!! Our time was meant to be spent with family. Switching to a different cabin wasn't even an option. They did offer a later check out but "really" read the room at that point NO one wanted to stay there. I did receive a survey from Big Bear Vacation and gave an honest review in addition I noted that I will be writing an online review. Today on Christmas Eve 12/24 (2 days after check out) management called to supposedly check in but to really ask us to take our review down for $250 compensation or 10% off on our next stay with Big Bear Vacation. The nerve! They still don't get it and apparently don't care. They wasted my families time and money. I hope no one else will have this same experience. I will never stay at this "LUXURY LODGE" ever again. read more

The propane tank was not full. The sliding glass doors were difficult to open and close. 3 of the 4 outside chairs were broken. Someone came to fix them, but they came loose the following day. The kitchen cookware was not very appealing. The shampoo, body wash dispensers were not full and/or working. The ping pong table net and rackets were broken. We booked a cabin for our Thanksgiving Big Bear Family trip and it was amazing. From the initial booking Stephanie was very informative and gave me lots of tips. We arrived on Thanksgiving day and we had a small issue. I thought for sure we would have to wait until the next day due to it being Thanksgiving but to my surprise we were taken care of immediately. We loved our cabin but most of all we loved the extraordinary customer service provided by Dakota (our maintenance hero) and Urias who checked up on us to make sure our family was taken care of. 5 Star customer service rating is not nearly enough to provide this company and the team it has they deserve a millions stars. Since day one, they were helpful in every aspect of our stay. We had an issue with a smoke detector and no more than 3 mins they responded and send someone and they took care of it. When we had a question, it did not take them more than 5 mins to respond with an answer or a possible solution via text. In the morning they even reached out if we needed anything due to weather conditions. I know there were probably more people in the concierge side but want to give a shout out to the following people Bianca , Freddy K and Santiago that were every attentive and regarding the safety of our family during the weather conditions.
