I was visiting the Nike outlet store and decided to take a chance on big bills. Boy was I pleased! I had the pulled pork sandwich combo which I ordered to go they were kind enough to separate the coleslaw and barbecue sauce so when I got ready to eat my sandwich I experienced a lovely delight. The sandwich was amazing the pulled pork soft and succulent with a delicious bark layer that added smoky flavor to every bite the sauce was complex and the coleslaw refreshing and perfect not too sweet and not to soggy. I will definitely go back to big bills next time to try the rib tip special which I hear is a close second in comparison to the sandwich definitely check out big bills I don't think you will be disappointed read more

We ordered rib tip plates and were told to allow 20 mins. for the order. After picking up the plates the food was cold , not even a bit warm. It was as if the food had just been sitting there. The rib tips did not really appear to be tips. Some of the tips were somewhat stringy. This was not a positive experience for me. read more

My wife and I dropped in after another BBQ place of notoriety was closed that Monday (for some reason). After getting coffee we stopped in. We had been traveling all day and were tired and hungry. I hate to say this but I was not expecting much. Boy was I surprised! I got the half rack of ribs and without a doubt, these ribs were the best I have ever had! I live in Central Texas so I'm familiar with good BBQ! Texas only does baby back ribs. There usually isn't a lot of meat on them. These ribs at Big Bill's included that delicious juicy top portion of the ribs that they cut off in Texas. That half rack filled me up! So much meat on those bones! But we had a conversation with the owner, Curtis Givens, who listened and appreciated our feedback. When we came back this time, I will say....he REALLY listened. That is impressive in a business owner, especially these days. Curtis and his staff went above and beyond in making sure things were top notch. The food was great, as the service amazing. We are now fans of this spot and definitely plan to return. This place was absolutely amazing!! We were traveling from Texas to Alabama and stopped in for lunch. We were in the search of some Memphis BBQ. I'll just say Big Bill's did not disappoint. First, in the middle of a pandemic, the employees aren't wearing masks, making me hesitate to go into the store. A couple of them had masks hanging around their necks, where they do no good. Is there no manager there to ensure the employees are following safety protocols? I've emailed them on this issue before, so it reflects poorly that management has not addressed this issue. As for food quality, I found the pulled pork sandwich interesting--seems to have a sweeter smoked flavor than other Memphis offerings, but the meat is a bit dry. While traveling for work in Memphis we stopped at Big Bill's on Kirby due to the good ratings on Yelp. We should have left when we entered but we were very hungry and tired. The music was extremely loud and offensive, the restaurant had a Hookah bar in it, so there was smoke everywhere. We chose to eat outside which was dirty. The food wasn't seasoned well as you would expect and last but not least, there was a credit card use charge on my bill. No notice prior to payment they charge the guest for the credit card fee. Overpriced for the quality of food. My family and I visited this restaurant for brunch and were highly disappointed in the food presentation. I personally spent over $100 on my food and +1. That's pricing for 2 adults and endless mimosas. Based on the pricing for everyone, you would assume that most of the food would actually be prepared in-house. To our surprise the majority of offerings were pre-cooked offerings from Costco, (frozen waffles, bakery cinnamon rolls, powder eggs, etc.) similar to what would be served at free hotel breakfast. The menu also listed other items that we inquired about, but were told they would not be served. The few items that were made there, fried fish and chicken, were the best options. The shrimp and grits were lacking flavor and there were no customization or additional condiments available (cheese, butter, chives, etc) to top your grits. You are also given a time limit to eat during your reservation and regardless of whether the restaurant is ready to serve you or not, the time limit is not extended. In our case, the restaurant was not ready to serve at the 10:30am reservation and as the next group of reservations were checking in, we were told to leave by the "supervisor" and were met with an attitude and that "it's regardless of if they were ready or not". Nonetheless, we were still waiting for drinks that were requested prior to the 10min warning. The supervisor then proceeded to call an owner or manager out to our table to tell us to leave. His exact words being "I was told I had to come and be the bad guy." You can tell that this restaurant has quite a few opportunities when it comes to organization, presentation, operations, and food quality. Based on previous reviews of brunch at this restaurant, I can tell the quality level has definitely declined and every experience varies drastically. We saw the great reviews and thought this is going to be great....Not so fast. The outside of the restaurant is very nice and you walk in and it is very inviting. We were there on a Friday night and they are playing nasty music. My daughter with great hearing said she had heard the F word, P word, S word and more. Well there is the food. The ribs had no smoke flavor and weren't very tender, catfish was fishy, smoked sausage was like I have at home. Bright point was the BBQ spaghetti was good, but that is about it. The salmon was chopped and fresh, next time i will order extra Cole slaw and bbq because the containers are small when asked for it to be on the side.
