I like to go in, order a pizza and a "forgettaboutit" draft and by the time I am done with the beer my pizza is up. I've driven by this place hundreds of times, and never given it a second thought. It's in an unassuming building in a strip mall. I'm so glad i tried the place. This thanksgiving holiday, it was on my out-of-town family's list of places to try, so I figured what the hell. Good NYC style pizza! we ordered a pepperoni and a supreme. I recommend keeping the topping light, so yoh can enjoy the simplicity of thin crust pizza. The pepperoni was excellent. The supreme could have used more time in the oven, and it was too many toppings. Service was mixed. The hostess was a bit terse, and our server changed two, maybe three times? We had to make a stop here on the way back to Denver from Castle Rock. Why? It was the anniversary of 911 and every year the owner does an amazing donation event here. All proceeds from the day go to help sick and injured FDNY first responders from that terrible day. We saw a report on the morning news and had to come in for some pizza. The place was packed which speaks to how much the community comes together to help in this way. We ordered two large cheese pizzas and an eggplant parm dinner. Pizza was good, don't get me wrong, but the crust was kinda tough and chewy. Maybe this is authentic NY style pizza...? It wasn't really foldable like they said. My go-to pizza joint to satisfy all the cravings! The atmosphere gives a typical NYC pizza joint - busy, loud, and crowded, but the workers are always so friendly and welcoming. I'd recommend their meat pie, white pizza, combo calzone, the Mindy, and baked rigatoni. It has been a while since we visited Big Bills pizza. On a whim driving back from Castle Rock, we decided to stop in. For a Sunday, they were pretty busy... and were able to seat our party of 7 with very little wait. We ordered garlic bread and garlic knots as well as the chopped salad. The bread was buttery and crispy and went greatnwith the tangy marinara. Something about a chopped salad seems so appealing and this one was fresh and delicious. I didn't care for the garlic knots. They were too dense. For a big group, we ordered 2 large pizzas. One meat and the other veggie with jalapenos. The pizza were hot and crispy, yet foldable. The jalapenos were not hot enough, bit the red pepper flakes did the trick. Friendly staff and plenty of parking made the trip even better. read more

I lived in New York for over 10 years and have a good taste for NY-style pizza. For the life of me, I cannot understand the local hype behind Big Bill's pizza. The service is outstanding-- I will give them that, and is probably the only reason I'm giving them a 3 instead of a 2. The food is edible, but not great. Their crust is consistently tough, which is what typically happens when the dough is handled too much, and their sauce is just not good. It is consistent, but it is not good. I've had sauce out of a jar that aligns more closely with what I would consider "good" NY-style pizza sauce. Maybe it's just me or I'm missing something because people seem to swear by this place for pizza, but it just doesn't do it for me. read more

Good pizza, got the veggie and subbing the olives for the charred broccoli was an excellent call and I think they should make that change on the menu. After the vastly disappointing disaster that was High Mountain Pies, we were craving REAL pizza. After thinking about Pizza Republica, we decided to go to Big Bill's. Yum. The Caesar salad was crisp with the perfect amount of creamy dressing, and the pizza was totally on point. Thin, crispy, chewy crust with delicious gooey melted cheese and just enough sauce. THIS was puffy allergy-face worthy! My New Yorker's pizza-loving soul was soothed by this pizza. It could be bigger, like 18" or 20" or so, but they nailed the thin crust and the ratios of cheese and sauce. The cheese glistened and the pepperoni was cooked perfectly. It's not cupped pepperoni, but Bill's makes no claim to being anything more than a family pizza place/restaurant. Funny, I always get pizza here, but the meatballs looked REALLY good. Nice, very traditional pizza. In a world of different kinds of strange pizzas that are not always to my liking, Big Bill's produces a pie that is right in the center of the strike zone in terms of cheesiness, tomatoiness, and doughiness. Service was very friendly and helpful, as well as prompt, meaning no 15 minute wait to get my check or any such nonsense. We were going to Los dos and we saw this packed as heck right next door So we decided to try it, lots of good reviews and good history Service was kind and friends and pretty sure I saw big bill walking around talking to regulars Food came out pretty quickly, however the servers were not very attentive, I had to ask for water twice. It wasn't terrible but it definitely wasn't great. The food was pretty tasty, we got the sticks and stones and if someone isn't unused to New York style food then they may not have liked them. We thought they were good. We did not enjoy the wings; they were basically drumsticks with a drizzle of hot sauce. The pizza was good but it was not New York style, the crust was not it and actually it wasn't greasy enough haha But it was very good pizza overall. We will go again. read more

Big Bill's is the best pizza in the South metro, hands down. There is a lot of stuff on the menu, and my wife says the salad is pretty good, but I typically stick to the basics. I don't have pizza very often, but when I do, it better be Big Bill's! Bill used to be around and chat with the regulars, but I haven't seen him lately. The service here is always excellent, and the atmosphere is very cozy in the front seating area. It's less in the back area, but it's still lovely. This place is BUSY! Big Bill's isn't really a pizza joint. A better description would be The Centennial Treasure Chest of NY-Style pizza and Italian comfort foods. While Denver has a lot of pizza places claiming to be NY-Style, this is the real deal and the best. The crust is perfect, and the toppings are exactly as flavorful as they should be. The interior is warm and comfortable--an ideal place to relax and enjoy the marvel that is cheese and bread. And, most importantly, the staff is excellent. They are all friendly and operate like a well-timed watch. For me, this is at minimum an hour and ten minute round trip, but it's more than worth it because Bill's is the definition of a destination restaurant. read more

My wife picked up one of their square Sicilian style pizzas for dinner and have to say was not very impressed with all the good ratings this place had. For a pan pizza it was sloppily put together and being advertised as a thick crust pizza it had more dough than most deep dishes I have ordered around town. Additionally, their sauce must be bland as there was no taste of it over the toppings and crust and overall not a good pie. Might have been our mistake of ordering a pan pizza from a NY inspired shop that normally would consist of serving thin crusts. read more

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. My boyfriend who is not gluten-free was craving a meatball sub and I just went along for the ride now judging by the name of this place and how long it's been around I figured there was nothing "Becky Safe" but I was wrong. Let me start with the fact that the ambience is so much brighter inside than expected and it's really got a nice back east flair to it. The servers are so friendly and so accommodating. They had plenty of items for me to have on the gluten-free menu. Now anyone with celiac disease I don't know if I would recommend a pizza just because of the cross-contamination possibility but if you're not as sensitive as me , this is a great choice. I saw a gluten-free pizza as we were leaving and it looked pretty fantastic. My only reason for sharing this is the servers are very clear that it's not a gluten-free kitchen. I opted for a pasta, and since I wasn't starving, they had a really nice light option for me. They have vegan cheese options and so many yummy looking things.
