Great outdoor area. Good for group get togethers. The decor is guy's garage and the beer flights come in a tool box. The beers are well made and they have a good variety. You should be about to find something you like. They have empanadas which are really good. Other than that, you can bring in food or there maybe a food truck in the parking lot.

Well, I got to check another brewery off of my list and Big Block did not disappoint. I've been hearing about it for years from a friend of mine who goes there frequently, but hadn't stopped in myself until last week - so glad I finally did because (cha-ching!) they have a Brown Ale on tap! And not just any ol' Brown Ale, but an award-winning one as well. It was malty, dark, and really hit the spot on a cold, rainy fall evening. I also enjoyed a couple of Rocky's Empanadas, which they served up piping hot with a side of homemade chimichurri. The mushroom one was my favorite, and paired well with my ale. The vibe here is cars so there's a lot of automobila memorabilia and decor to enjoy while you're sipping your beer. They have cans to-go, plenty of parking, and (of course) friendly beertenders, too. I'll definitely be back!

Wow!! Great beers, great variety.. IPA's, hazy's, Sours, and Nitro's ... and local wines if you prefer. Thank you! Jennifer J. For recommending this one. Dangerously too close to home! lol Definitely on my list to go to breweries in the area. It's been great! Trading great breweries in the Bay Area for East side Seattle. Friendly and great service. Tried a fresh hop Cascade, just tapped, not even on the board yet! Hoppy fresh and smooth delicious, great to try the local fresh hops. And then a red ale nitro.. what?!? I love the reds... and add the nitro creaminess?!? Fabulous! Smooth, tasty, and creamy. Looking forward to many return visits, to try both the beers and food, rotating taps and food trucks. If you're the area, stop by, a great patio area and a little peak a view of Lake Sammamish. Happy yelping, God bless and Cheers!

We enjoyed the Bock beer and having a tasting flight is always fun but the beers in the flight weren't all to our liking. The empanadas were tasty but beware that the mushroom one has rosemary in it (I'm allergic) and I didn't notice that in the description. Fun environment!

The ambience at Big Block is wonderful! They have a cute outdoor seating area for days with nice weather, but we sat inside due to the rain. The staff were super helpful in suggesting beers based on mentions of popular beers that we liked. For those who like amber ales, my boyfriend's family loved the flathead red. My personal favorite is the honey pale ale which is so light and refreshing, and only a bit bitter. This time I had the chocolate porter which was pretty good, but not mind blowing They don't serve food themselves but they usually have food trucks/stands outside in case you get hungry!

I absolutely love this place! Friendly staff, great beers, plenty of places to sit either indoors or outdoors comfortably as they have a nice fire pit and heat lamps around the perimeter. If you enjoy local breweries you should come down and hang out with your friends.

Special Bitter with some roasted peanuts really hits the spot.

Out on a beer bus tour of Sammamish area and this was one of our stops. The ambiance is great and was able to chat with the owner and really enjoyed our conversation chatting about, of course beer. Quite pleasantly surprised at how good the beer and selection is at "Big Block". There's a bit, well a lot of the classic car theme going on here. Has a large main area indoors and a cool outdoor beer garden going on too. I wasn't sure what to order since I planned on only one beer. But, the "Special Bitter" stood out to me as I've only seen it in cast at Machine House in Seattle and I wanted to do a comparison. I found it to be really tasty and ended up actually drinking 1 1/2 pints. Great local brewery and I'm pretty sure has a solid set of local fans.

Big Block Brewing is a great neighborhood brewery - especially if you actually live in the neighborhood since it's a little bit off the beaten path if not. I would give the atmosphere a 5 ratings easily, since the inside and patio defy its strip mall location. The automobile theme is extensive - from the piston tap handles to the machined aluminum table tops - there's plenty here to feast your eyes on for those that love cars. There's an RC track inside that looks particularly cool, but unfortunately when I visited it was out of order. However, I'd likely return just to see it in action. They even have a huge patio that I'm sure is rocking on sunny days. While the atmosphere is a 5, I have to give their beers a 3. My wife and I tried six different beers and none of them were particularly great in my opinion. I personally love Bourbon barrel aged beers, but the Bourbon barrel aged oatmeal stout on tap here is a bit too tart for my tastes. The bartender mentioned this before giving us a taste, so it was nice to get a heads-up on this. I also love IPA's, but the IPA here was also a bit too 'tangy' for my personal tastes as well. I settled on the nitro Pale, which clocks in at 7% ABV and has good mouth-feel due to the nitro, but again it wasn't spectacular. Having said this, beer is very subjective and just because I wasn't fond of the beers I tasted I'm sure others would certainly disagree. The staff were also very friendly so all in all I think this place is great. And If I'm in the neighborhood again I'd definitely give it another shot to see if I liked any of the newer beers on tap. If I did, this would be a 5 star brewery all the way.

Known for their Cascade Highway West Coast IPA, Raspberry Blonde, Honey Pale, and a plethora of other beers on a constantly changing tap list. Great outdoor patio area, cool & knowledgeable staff, and lots of parking. Bonus: no kids OR dogs!! Great place to enjoy a pint or three!

Love the location! Literally 5 minute drive from the house and we have ourselves a great little getaway. The space is nice, clean, and large. The service was fantastic. Love the presentation of the tasting flights in custom made tool kits. Clever idea that matches the car sticking out of the wall. Best of all the beer is really good! They have a decent selection as well. Two rows of standards and two rows of rotational brews. A couple of the standards are award winning and it shows. I highly recommend the raspberry blonde (one of their winners). Also recommend the nut brown ale. At almost 10% alcohol, the barrel aged stout will floor you. They also display the bittering units. Very handy if you do not like bitter beers. The seasonal brews makes it interesting. We'll definitely be back to try the sour that they are planning for spring. Sours are my favorite type of beer. Wish they had some kind of food offering, but that would make it a different type of establishment.

My beautiful (and delicious) raspberry blonde ale
Julian S.

I love having me a raspberry blonde from BBB -- something about blending raspberries and a blonde ale together that works magically! Sampled some of the grapefruit IPA as well and had to say it was equally tasty and refreshing. The area out back is nice and has a great assortment of games to play while you're imbibing delicious brews--batchi balls, corn hole, giant jenga--along with shaded couch seating, stool seating, and table seating for you to enjoy sunny spring and summer days in the PNW. Service was friendly and attentive--and the cashier even comes to your lazy butt lying on the outdoor couch to close your tab lol Great place to check out if you live on the Eastside or coming back to Seattle from a hike in the snoqualmie area!

Nice atmosphere but very rude service. One of the servers immediately seemed aggressive and unhappy to see us at the bar as newcomers.

Tucked away in a neighborhood around the lake, this place feels like a second home when you walk in. Ambiance: 4/5 Came in here on a hot summer day after a trip to Lake Sammamish. We were hoping to get out of the heat...unfortunately there was no air conditioning. There are fans and after a while we realized it wasn't a huge problem. The sporty themed atmosphere was great and the noise level of the music was perfect. Overall, we will be back to try different flavors of their pizza.

The beer is excellent, especially the seasonal releases. There's always something on tap that makes you slow down, pay attention, and then mentally note, "I need to have this again before it's gone." Thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly brewed with care. The space has real personality. Han frozen in carbonite on the wall... solo, no Jabba in sight. It sets the tone immediately. Add pinball machines (yes, real pinball), and it feels more like a hangout than a tasting room. There are pinball tournaments! The staff is a huge part of why I keep coming back: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. They know the beer, they like the beer, and it shows. Bonus points for being able to bring in local food. Grab something nearby, bring it in, pair it with a great pint, and you're set. They often have food trucks outback, which is great for those nights when you aren't in the mood to cook. Dinner + beer all in one spot. Amazing beer, amazing staff, and a space that gets it right. First, the food was good: the chicken was the best out of everything we ordered - garlic honey wings with enough for four people to share! Honestly, we didn't need the salad, and it wasn't anything - just some romaine & croutons with dressing on the side - i guess I expected a little more for a Caesar salad. The pizza was good, and props for offering half and half option! But DEFINITELY order the pizza EXTRA CRISPY, because we didn't, so the crust was "just okay", even a little bit soggy for my taste. The people were GREAT; it's absolutely worth going back for how friendly and nice they were, keeping it clean even if you have to go up and order at the counter first: NOTE: they need to update the beer menu on the QR because it doesn't match what's available so we had to go back to the table a few times to get it right. Good TV monitors so it's a good sports bar; I wonder if there are multiple games on (like baseball or Sunday, if they will play multiple sports? It was obviously FIFA, and everyone was watching, but what if there are other types of fans? Hopefully they take that into consideration. It's a good, well lit, spacious place and I'd be happy to go again.

There's a couple of high top tables on the fully indoor side and big 8 person tables in the beer garden area which extends from the warehouse to the parking lot. No food in house but they do have food trucks occasionally (mostly on the weekends). Apparently, this entire location is closing in December. The brewing operation is moving to Bremerton and the taproom is not planned to be reopened. I suspect this was announced suddenly by the private equity firm that bought the brewery out a couple years back, as all the customers today seemed surprised and there was even a sign on the wall with December event dates printed and then crossed out after the fact. I feel terrible for the employees as I imagine none or basically none of them have kept their employment given the distance from Redmond to Bremerton.
