My friend and I needed to find a place we could hang out in Issaquah after 10pm and this is one of the only places open late so I was excited to check it out. I ordered a cosmopolitan and the bartender Kate was the absolute sweetest. She was worried about not making my drink correctly but she actually made it perfectly!! I loved every sip, it was the perfect amount of citrusy and sweet! My friend ordered a blue moon and was surprised when the bartender offered him an orange slice to go with it. He said it's supposed to come that way but normally bars don't offer the orange slice. My friend and I stuck around for hours chatting with the bartender and some of the other patrons. We even played a couple rounds of billiards. I love the local vibes at this bar. If I lived within walking distance, I would honestly come here more often. A five star review for a five star dive bar. Walk in and it's dark. Here's my take, Loud music, pool table, shuffle board, stuffed animals on the walls, tiny: slightly smelly bathrooms, sports on televisions, electronic jukebox, quirky wall decor, fried foods, fryer sounds from the open kitchen, and of course loads of beverages. Beer, on tap and in bottles, white claws, mixed drinks, speciality drinks and of course strong pours. Also, a super friendly bartender. The kind of place to relax with friends and have a good time! They have an outdoor patio and a small stage. Looks like possibly live music on certain nights. Be careful and responsible. Have a DD or Lyft/uber. As a lifelong Issaquah resident, it's sad to see such disregard for an Issaquah historical establishment. The 'new' owners have no trust in the employees who have ran the place for them for years (now let go or gone at the same time), or for the loyal customers, dj's, bands, cooks, or for the generations of people residing in Issaquah who see the Log as a nostalgic, historical landmark. I can only hope they sell and someone else keeps the place as it once was and should always remain. Thank you to Julie, Shawn, Meagan, Michelle, and so many others over multiple, multiple decades for making the Log special. *Edit* Sadly, things at The Log have gone from bad to worse. The person in charge of the Google account and reviews quit after expressing disappointment in the owners' choices. Once Roger and Edna took over, they impulsively rage responded to the multiple one star reviews and then deleted their own insulting responses. My review won't post for some reason. Curious. The repetitive attack on the intellect of customers is a representative of how they truly feel about their clientele and staff - the dismissed, unreliable staff who dealt with their liquor orders, beer orders and reps, pulltabs, bands, karaoke, food orders, customer management, and ran their business for years. According to the owners, being an electrician is a lowly career and invalidates an opinion. According to their responses, no one can possibly have any idea about how to run a business, despite the fact the employees have been running their business for years. It's clear they believe the people who have aided in their success, both staff and clientele are low IQ individuals. My dad once sat around this bar in the 1960's before he passed, with a spittoon at his feet, daring his softball comrades to eat hotdog buns out of the murky waters. He told stories of running by the door as a child. I found my history within those doors. There is no part of me that wants to see this bar fail or or disappear, as it IS Issaquah history for myself and for so many others, but I can't condone or ignore the insults directed at their very bread and butter. Go there, enjoy, but know you're putting money in the pockets of those with no loyalty or humility or understanding of the deep history of Issaquah. Know in their eyes you have no worth or value beyond your dollar. Know if you work there and have spent years being faithful, they don't care. Hopefully, The Rolling Log will sell to someone who doesn't degrade and insult the very people who built it and keep its lifeblood alive. read more

Great cold drinks. Fun entertainment no cover charge. Free wifi also. Great hang out place. Looks like they got all new bartenders though. Was there last Saturday was super busy, their karaoke night was fun. Only thing is I wish bartenders would go to our tables asking to ask us what to drink. Their lines are long with only one register. Wish they had food. We went to the Chinese restaurants next door for food then came back. I asked one of the girls about cover charge because I heard the owners would be charging. Rolling Log is a definite must try for all those looking for a guaranteed good time! I was looking for a perfect place to take some out of town friends for my birthday. I haven't lived in Issaquah long and don't go out often. My friends and I were all very impressed with the upbeat vibe. Enjoyed their full kitchen and friendly service. New ownership has revamped the menu to add an Indian flair inspired by the goa area. Ordered the steak sammich. The meat was like butter. Ordered the club. It had a spice kick and the lettuce was like a wedge bacon and blue cheese medley with spicy coke slaw. The hand cut fries rival Dicks and much less oily. I've had the burger and the Cuban too but I've inhaled them too fast to take a picture. I was here last Saturday for the first time. They had karaoke, I was carded by security he was welcoming . This bar is a gem. The ladies bathrooms were clean. The beer was cold. Only downfall is lining up for drinks . The lines get long real fast, with a tall lean bartender doing drinks and ringing us up, as the the other chubby bartender doing pull tabs makes line go slower. Both were nice as my girlfriend bought pull tabs and I was in line for another 15 minutes for second drink. I gave four stars because I would have like do have food. Waiting in line wasn't that bad as a girl hostess walked around and greeted us. She cleaned up the popcorn station for us also. A party sitting behind us ask when, will food come back she told us in a couple weeks. So we all plan to come back in a couple weeks. We asked if there would be cover charges in February she said no gave us the sweetest smile. Others told me she was the owner Edna. I don't know about you, but when I think of Issaquah I think of little boutiques, small trendy restaurants, big houses, and a general feel of upper middle class suburbia. I don't think of dive bars. Well, the Rollin' Log proved me wrong. Tucked away on a side street off of Issaquah main drag, the log appears to be sheltered in a building that was built at least a hundred years ago. But probably even longer than that. The walls are made of ancient timbers. The decor has changed very little in probably four or five decades. There are a couple of pool tables to give the place atmosphere, a small stage where live music happens, a full bar, and of course several beers on tap. From PBR on up to local craft beer favs. The small kitchen turns out pub food, like quesadillas and fries, and the last time I was there they were even offering prime rib as a nightly special. The Log is a fun place to meet an old friend when you find yourself in the area and want to do something different. Or just hide from the outside world for a couple of hours. read more

Stopped here to grab a quick bite a few days ago. The owner didn't look too hapy to have non-regulars in. When we asked about her thoughts and recommendation on the sandwiches, she just said the menu's kinda new so she doesn't know. Oh well... We ordered a Cuban and a Blackened Chicken Sandwich. The chicken was really dry and over-cooked. It tasted nice but was a nightmare to chew through. Similar story on the cuban where the pork was over-cooked and tough but tasted quite nice. The side salad and fries were ok, pretty standard stuff. The sandwiches were kind of small for the $15 price tag. For that price you would expect something larger and absolutely kick ass. These were average in both those departments. I read about the new owners and menu with the Goan influence but didn't see that anywhere so not sure if I'm missing something. My family is from Goa and I grew up eating Goan food so was pretty excited and then disappointed. Not sure if I would like to try it again anytime soon even though we barely live a few minutes away. read more

Chef Edna, from Max's World Cafe (used to be around the corner from the bar) is BACK, kicking butts and slaying taste buds with her extremely flavorful, delicious, multi-ethnic menu combos. We tried the biscuits and gravy last weekend (WIN), the chicken fried steak (WIN), and a pancake (WHAT. We really missed her and were hungry. WIN!) SO GOOD. This place is a hidden gem! I didn't know it existed until some friends suggested to go for lunch. It was relatively quiet during the week for lunch, but we had arrived early. The menu is pretty short, but their is range of options that can suit pretty much any craving. I had the Mediterranean salad with blackened chicken. It was very flavorful, and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. One of our party was vegetarian, and they didn't have a veggie option, however the chef himself came to our table and suggested an option he could make for our friend. He made an amazing potato hash type veggie burger, and all of us at the table ended up wanting our friends order instead. The chef even came out afterward to see if our friend enjoyed it! True customer service! I will want to go back and try many other options now, since they were very friendly, the taste of the food was great, and we ended up having a lovely lunch! read more

Asked what cider was on tap and was told Stella's and I asked what kind that was and I got a *you are stupid as f* look "uhhhhhhh itsssss apppppleeeee???" Considering bars usually carry various flavors, it wasn't a stupid question. Put the 50 cents in for pool, it was jammed, and my friend was told to just 'ram the end of a pool stick into it but only a man can do it.' The service is always quick and friendly, the juke box has a substantial selection, and there is shuffle board. I've only ever had the (good!) fries so I can't attest to the rest of the food. I was thrilled when Chef Edna began serving her creations, and my husband and I have visited a number of times since Max's World Cafe closed it's doors.
