First, the noise level in here is intolerable. Watching a bunch of drunk EGR moms yell in an attempt to be the center of attention is the worst. Why does the management over serve these yentas? I was going to share some kind of a pizza soufflé thing with my boys. The only to describe it was a "hot mess". Jesus, it was 4lbs of melted cheese. When we took the first piece out the hot mess quickly flowed into the vacated spot. It was awful. It was loud. So loud I had to leave and go sit outside. I don't think we will be back anytime soon. Wow, this place is going downhill fast... (Three stars is being generous, taking into account what it was like on prior visits under the prior management) We waited for awhile before having anyone acknowledge that we were there. Finally, we were told it would be a couple of minutes, as they wanted to wipe down the tables. The person got halfway done and then wandered off. Several waiters and waitresses walked by, none of them acknowledging that there were people waiting. As we stood there, I noticed what a mess the place was (popcorn all over the place, etc.). After waiting well above what I'd consider to be a reasonable amount of time, especially when there were tables available, we eventually left and went somewhere else. I really used to like this place, but not really sure I'm going to want to come back again. read more

If you're looking for an affordable, very tasty yet not-so-good-for-you dinner, definitely go to Big Bob's pizza! Alcohol selection is moderate, and their broccoli and cheese bites are to die for. It's basically fried balls of broccoli cheese soup that melt in your mouth. Plus they come with ranch! Bf and I have tried their deep dish pizza with the crazy good crust and the thin crust pizza and have liked both - just depends on your mood/hunger levels (deep dish is uberfilling obviously). I recommend this restaurant if you ever want a quick meal to grab. The restaurant is very kid friendly and offers an open atmosphere to dine to. It took a while for us to get our food but that is because we had a party of 14 people so you really can't blame anyone here. Meh. Tried the Briazzo and I wouldn't recommend it. I've never been a fan of deep dish pizza; there is just too much stuff going on and the flavor gets lost. The sauce and crust on the Briazzo were not flavorful. I would be wiling to come back and try their classic pizza. read more

WOW! Has this place got good pizza and calzones. We recently were here for the first time. All five of us in our family were really impressed. Big menu. As frequent Vitales in Ada diners, we all thought that the Italian cuisine was just as good. Small with not a lot of room to dine but we all enjoyed it. Met the owner too! We'll be back. read more

When I know that I will be in town, I always plan on making sure that I visit the restaurant a couple of times. There are several reasons that I find it so enjoyable.... ** The ambiance is casual and provides this attraction of inclusion of all of the customers similar to that of the sitcom "Cheers" ** The staff/servers are sensitive to making the customers feel welcomed and are focused on ensuring that they are enjoying themselves and have great service ** The beer selections are great and the staff are well versed in describing new and exciting options to experience ** Now what would a great restaurant be without super food? The food is exceptional...variety choice of pizza toppings with homemade dough, the best Caesars salad (as witnessed by us as we travel the US), wonderful sandwiches....and the BEST Meatball Parmesan that I have ever tasted. Our favorite place to eat in East GR. Great staff, excellent food and love the atmosphere. Kinda tucked back off the main strip but right across from Jersey Junction so not hard to find. They've got fresh popped popcorn for while you wait but I'll say, we've gone often and have rarely had to wait to be seated. read more

First and foremost, Rob and his staff were absolute rock solid in handling our 50+ members that came to meet and network that evening on their patio (which we took over). We came away from our first visit to Big Bob's with a bad impression. We went on a Saturday in October, 2015, about mid day. We ordered pasta entrees that looked like leftovers from the previous day. Pasta sauce was clumpy, pasta was sticky, overall very unappetizing. Maybe we would have been happier ordering pizza, which seems to be their specialty. Great food and the waitstaff fantastic. Food took a while, but we had drinks and were with good people so the time didn't seem long. Waitstaff checked on us several times throughout our stay. Very upbeat, friendly atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the wine I ordered so I asked what it was and was given the name. Afterwards, I forgot the name so I called and asked again. They were very accommodating. They not only gave me the name but texted me a picture of the label so I could have it when I shopped. Very friendly, helpful staff. Their Calzones are the best ever! They are huge--I can only eat half and take the rest home for my next two lunches! Love the atmosphere--fresh popcorn while you wait for your food. Finally tried Big Bobs for some pizza. The pizza was above average and met expectations ( which were high). I ordered take out and should have gotten it delivered as parking was a little challenge. Big Bob's is our favorite place to visit when we are in Grand Rapids area. East Grand Rapids (Gaslight Village) is a great setting. The restaurant had a friendly atmosphere, with very good selection of beers. I have eaten there many times. Their menu has a wide variety, so my family is always pleased. Last visit I had their Meatball Sub. It was the best Meatball Sub I ever had...... very generous on tasty meatballs, sauce and cheese. I'll be back. read more

Big bobs was a big bust for me and my family. We tried here on 6/15 and were turned away. There was 8 of us and plenty of tables available. Turned out the tables were saved for better guests. Guess big bobs reserves tables for the elite crowd. read more
