We're normally big fans of this place. But our recent visit has made us dock a star (we'd dock two, but we're feeling generous). Prices have skyrocketed. Portions have been demolished. Our "pick three" appetizer was literally twice the price that a single appetizer used to be, and we got *less food*. Read that last sentence again. Whatever COVID did, it doesn't justify doubling the price and reducing the portions. I also ordered jalepeno bottlecaps, but they gave me poppers instead. Because they don't have bottlecaps anymore. So maybe the guy taking my order should have said as much? The menu linked on a Google search is the old menu, so as far as I knew, options and prices were still the old options and prices. The fried food seems to have changed in general. Normally, even leftover appetizers are good. Tonight, it was tough and not good within a couple of hours of getting our food. I think the cheesy broccoli bites are also different from what they used to be? So basically, prices up, portions WAY down, quality down. I, sadly, cannot confidently recommend this place anymore. It's not like it's terrible, but I was just at Pera Pizzeria nearby, and they're now the best pizza place in East Grand Rapids, and for less money. I'm sad. And angry that the food costs way more than it used to. Seriously, just take a quick peek at the photo I uploaded of the "pick three" appetizer option. That's 16 bucks, and we got less and worse food than we used to get ordering a single 8 dollar item. This place has fallen from grace.

    Dog friendly patio with water!

We made an unplanned stop at Big Bob's with our pup after being turned away from another patio because of our doggo. Our server Sophia was incredibly sweet and so were the other staff members we interacted with! Well definitely be back once we are on this side of town. The turkey sandwiches were also phenomenal! Thanks!

A hidden gem in Grand Rapids! Big bob's is a wonderful quaint locally owned restaurant in East Grand Rapids. The owners are wonderful people that just want to make good food. Pizza is excellent, but my absolute favorite dish is the baked chicken parmesan. Even with covid the dish was perfectly prepared, restaurant was clean, and service was excellent.

Fried green beans. We got a side of regular ranch, instead of wasabi ranch.

What a cute place it is. It's fairly small. Right when you walk in, a hostess immediately asks "how many." The waiting area is very very small! We were told a 30 minute wait, but ended up waiting 10 minutes. We started off with the fried green beans. They were good. Could've been better if seasoned with salt and pepper. They also have a popcorn machine for free popcorn while waiting :) Service was mediocre. But I give the server props. On a busy Friday night, there were only 2 servers on the floor she forgot my lemon with my water, but at towards the end of our meal, profusely was apologizing and gave me a lemon. No biggie. The pizza is phenomenal. My fiancé and I ordered the "Briazzo" pizza with pineapple, Bacon, and ham. Dough was cooked perfectly. Sauce was so delicious I could've drank the side cup of marinara we got with it. It was lacking sauce, which was disappointing, but the side was perfect to go with it. I would bring my family and friends from out of state to this establishment to show it off. One note to share- we ordered a 10" pizza. We could barely finish one slice each. Make sure you get the 7" if it's just two or three of you!

Excellent pizza with a strong selection of craft beers on tap. Free popcorn helps makes it kid friendly for dinner on weeknights.

I adore crab so ordering that was a no brainer. Their coffee is strong. It took a ton of cream to change the color... though it was delicious with free refills for $5. The omelette was heaven. All the flavors melded well and I appreciated the crisp acidic salad to cut the richness of the omelette. My only critique is wishing the crab salad topping was a bit more decadent. For $21 I was hoping for big lumps of crab rather than cool shredded mayo based salad. All in all, I love this place, I love the concept. It was quite busy and was thankful to snag a seat at the bar. The service was friendly and quick. Best hipster establishment I've patronized in a long time. Make a reservation if you have a group or pray there is a seat at the bar. My boyfriend and I stumbled in during happy hour and were happy to grab some cheap drinks, but the main event was the burger! We typically like sitting at the bar as well and chat with the bartender who was absolutely lovely! The dirty martini was okay but I will definitely order something else next time as the olives just didn't hit for me. It's a quaint and quiet spot - you can read that as intimate - since it's not loud or rowdy, so if you want a really sweet date spot, feel free to check this one out! Otherwise, you can just go and have a casual, delicious dinner. Parking is limited with the street parking and it being so close to Monroe Center but you shouldn't have a terrible time finding something, even if requires a parking ramp vs street parking. I'd just recommend a reservation if you are going on a weekend or don't want to wait/sit at the bar!

Our waitress was awesome too--super friendly and helpful without being over the top. The whole place has a clean, modern vibe but still feels really family-friendly, which I liked. Every bite was that good. You'd never know it was gluten-free--the flavor was incredible and nothing felt like it was missing. Then I somehow made room for cheesecake and finished that too, which says a lot. Same thing there--no way you'd guess it was gluten-free. Overall, they just really know how to do gluten-free right. Nothing felt like a compromise at all. I'd 100% go back.

It seems like there are a lot of regulars at Maggie's but everyone is friendly and welcoming. It took some time for our food to come out, but our server kept checking in with us to let us know when it should be coming out. I always appreciate that. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and Nate got the turkey O'Toole, which comes on a pretzel bun. Our friend told us the fries were great, so of course I had to try those. (Fries are one of my favorite food groups!) The spicy chicken sandwich was ok, nothing special - we thought it seemed like a frozen GFS patty, but it tasted fine. The fries were definitely delicious! They were hand cut and pretty thick, perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Really the ideal fry of this type. I usually prefer thinner fries but these were a 10/10. I had a few bites of Nate's turkey O'Toole, which I really liked! The pretzel bun was soft and tasty and the turkey wasn't dry. I'd definitely order that for myself next time. There's a ton of parking available around Maggie's, including a lot in front and right next to the building. It's a nice spot to hang out and enjoy time with friends, especially on the patio.
