My sisters and I ate lunch there today. We waited way too long for our food. Several tables came in after us and their food arrived before ours. We ordered burgers, which were good. However, they shorted one of us on sweet potato fries, our server said she owed us some, but never returned with the remaining fries. We received a very late apology for the delay but were given no reason for it. We might have been more understanding if we knew what the issue was. Good food, not good service, especially when other customers didn't see, to be having a problem getting theirs. Disappointing, and we won't return. read more

After reading all of the reviews my wife and I were a bit hesitant to give this place a try but I am glad we did. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in the door. Our waitress Tammy was super nice and charming and had a good knowledge of the food menu as well as the beers. I went on her recommendation and had the Wee Heavy Scotch Ale which was very good. The wings were excellent and the onion rings even better. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and while the chicken breast was a little small the taste was very good. First experience resulted in waiting 2 hours for our food! In the servers defense, she and another lady were tackling our party of 30 people. But between 2 servers with no other tables, it shouldn't be impossible. That alone left a bitter taste in my mouth. Fish n chips were good though! Decided to wait a few months and try again and this time was a NIGHTMARE. Brought my 6 month old baby with, and she was hungry. Had to get our own high chair, and immediately asked for warm water. 20 minutes later she came back with her warm water, and our ice waters to drink. Waited another 20 minutes before she came back to take our order. Placed order of 2 blts and a fish basket. Asked for the sauce on the side of the blt in case we don't like it. FORTY minutes later, after not seeing our server the ENTIRE time, a random kitchen person came out in his apron to deliver the food!! We asked why our side salads didn't come out first, and the reply was "i don't know, we just don't do that??" Rude and snooty. So excited to devour my blt, except the moment I picked it up the bread was ROCK HARD. my mouth is still tore up a week later. Also, to top it all off.....absolutely NO sauce on the sandwich or the side like we had requested. This place sucks. Nothing like eating a stale-tasting, old, cold, dry, rubbery-bacon, BLT for dinner. I will NEVER come back to this place!! Get some more servers and a grip on how to run a business ppl. The space is nice, the staff is nice, the food has gotten much better since they first opened, the cocktails are pretty tasty, but the beer still needs a bit of work. I actually wonder if since the water they serve has a weird taste to it as if it isn't filtered, that maybe that's why all the beers also have the same weird finish to them. I will say they did a really nice job on their first barrel aged beer, it's pretty delicious and it's also pretty boozy so that gives it a smoother finish then all the rest. I think this place is slowly getting better as time goes by, I hope they keep improving because have great potential. read more

My husband and I have been there several times. While the food is really good, the service in general is lacking. Most times, the servers "forget" to put something in when we order our food or else specifications get forgotten. Last time we were there, it took us almost 30 mins to get a server's attention to get our waters and beer refilled- and it was not busy. On top of that, my friend who was with us is gluten free and we explained that to the server and asked about not having croutons on her salad, but the salad came out with croutons and her sandwich had a regular bun on it- so we had to wait for another 30 mins for them to correct that. I keep going back for the food and will continue to eat there, but i really hope the servers and kitchen get their acts together very soon. Communication is obviously lacking somewhere. read more

I want to like this place so badly. I've been about six times now and have only had one good experience. The service is really touch and go and the food is the same. You never know what you're going to get. Today my son and I got a drunk (I think) waitress. She kept sitting down at our booth when she came to talk to us. She got our order wrong. I legit watched her take a sip off the top of someone's beer before taking it to their table. I wanted to tell them so badly and will feel guilty forever for not doing so but I was in so much shock I didn't know what to do. I did tell the manager before we left and she gave me a gift card. I was really liking this place until my mom informed me they lost our Easter reservation and wanted us to sit upstairs by ourselves knowing we had small children in our party. They did the right thing and made room for us, although it wasn't that busy to begin with. The food was pretty good. Our waitress was the best part of our experience. She should be the manager, as she knows how to treat her customers well. After our party left, 3 of our party stayed. We sat at the end so they could put the tables back for use. We were reflecting and having a wonderful conversation about my father who recently passed. First Easter without him, etc., when the manager Rick told us we had to wrap it up. We were still spending money at this point. He swept underneath us, was being very rude. I would hope he knows there are way too many restaurants that look exactly like this one to act like this towards your customer. He changed the whole experience we were having in 15 seconds. Just celebrated mother's day here. They neglected to inform us that it was buffet only. We got there at around 1:30 pm and their buffet consisted on primarily breakfast! The main attraction was the prime rib, but when I got up to get a slice it was completely raw! We barely saw our waiter 2 times all throughout our visit. Terrible service 2x in a week! This truly happened, no exaggeration! Our party of 4 arrived on Sunday, Feb 18th at 1:30 p.m., there was a line at the door, so we patiently waited to be seated. There were 2 other parties ahead of us. I overheard the hostess say that they were unexpectedly busy. When we were escorted to our table, an employee was opening the front and back doors because food was badly burnt in the kitchen and the smell was in the dining area. The place was about 2/3rds full. Our waitress took our drink orders and delivered them to us but ran off quickly before we could tell her we were ready to order. After 20 minutes, she took our food order. It got very cold inside the place and luckily a guest closed the back door. Our server stopped over after 40 minutes to refill our waters and one of us ordered another beer. She forgot about the beer and we had to ask another waitress to get our server, so we could tell her. She brought the beer and left. She never offered to check on our order or to apologize for the wait. I noticed other patrons around us were getting their food even though we were seated first. After over an hour and a half, at 3:10, I asked for the manager, she came out and apologized for the wait and said our server should have apologized for the delay. She offered us an appetizer, she was able to get our fried pickles to us very quickly. As she delivered them, she said she would check on the kitchen but never returned. At 3:30, we left because the food still had not arrived. Earlier in the week, my spouse and I came in on Monday, Feb 12th and the service was poor then too when there were less than 20 patrons. I watched my drink sit at the bar for a long time, our server forgot about my drink and I had to ask for it. I received it with melted ice. We came back because we enjoyed our food the 1st time and figured it was just a bad night, not knowing a few days later it would be worse in terms of service. We really wanted to like this place because we live close by. It appears they hire inexperienced wait staff. It's too bad, all you need to do is more training if you want this restaurant to survive. read more

My husband ordered take out. I arrived 25 minutes after I placed my order, I ordered fish and chips and Reuben. the manager put our food together and it was cold. Fries were soggy and they only put in 2 pieces of fish, no tarter sauce. The Reuben was decent. These two things for over $30!! It was terrible. The stuffed pretzels are great! But be prepared to wait at least an hour for them, and they might be burnt! But when they were burnt the waitstaff was helpful and got us new ones. These did also take a long time, but when we got them they did taste very good! Overall I do not think they are prepared to handle food service at the scale that their set up promises, but they are still new. I would imagine in time they will become better, and I hope to witness that and revise this review! read more

We've been here many times & usually have a great experience. Tonight, NO. First, apparently it was "game night". Which means loud announcer on way too loud speakers asking quiz questions the entire time. Only 4 "teams" were playing & the place was full. It was so irritating! We couldn't hear each other across the table without yelling. The tables began clearing out before our server Danny appeared to take drink orders, 10 minutes after we sat down. Server disappeared for another 10 mins, finally remembered we didn't have drinks yet. They were out of housemade kettle chips that go with the beer cheese, the reason we went there. He offered more bread instead, no. We ordered stuffed mushrooms $7. Not even worth $3 when it came. Supposed to be stuffed with goat cheese, diced tomatoes, bacon, balsamic vinegar. 3 medium sized mushrooms (low quality), didn't see stuffing or taste anything close to cheese tomatoes or bacon; sitting on wilted mixed greens, drizzled with too much balsamic vinegar. Not impressed. We really enjoyed when another server (I think her name was Riley?) slammed the appetizer & plates on the table, gave us a dirty look, huffed at us & stormed away. Pleasant & welcoming? Nope. We ordered our meals at same time as appetizer. We got 2 Fish & chips dinners $14 each, 1 shrimp alfredo $14. Took forever. Oh, sorry, we're out of coleslaw too. Really? You wait until we'd been sitting there a good 15 mins after appetizer arrived to tell us that? Meals finally came. Shrimp alfredo had 4 shrimp & bowl of cavatapi noodles was half full. Sauce was hardly there, tasted like garlic butter, not alfredo at all. Fish & fries was good but it's hard to mess up fried foods, but definitely not worth $14. Same meal used to be $10 less than 6 months ago. We were so annoyed by poor/rude service, irritating noise from the "live quiz game", crappy food quality priced far too high. This used to be one of our fav places in Lowell. Now we won't be back. Not worth the prices for that kind of experience. read more

Went here on a Saturday night. Typical bar atmosphere, really liked sitting in a booth because it's a lot more comfortable than the hard wooden chairs. Staff was so incredibly nice and very accommodating. Ordered hamburgers, fries and beer. We both ordered our hamburgers medium rare because we know they tend to get overcooked. Both of our hamburgers came out well done. We were too hungry to complain and did not want to wait for a new order to be made. My burger was supposed to have haystack onions and beer battered deep-fried jalapeños and barbecue sauce. I could hardly find the haystack onions and there were three jalapeños that had no batter on them at all....and no bbq sauce. My husband had the maple burger and he said it had great flavor, but could've used more of the maple sauce. The Cajun fries had a lot of flavor, the horseradish and chipotle aïoli were awesome!!!! We had a citrus IPA that was really, really good as well. I would be willing to give it another try but I would definitely send back my burger if it came the way it did again. read more

Incredibly underwhelming is the best way I can describe my experience here. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night. We walked in and waited my the hostess stand for several minutes before the hostess came out from the back and greeted us. Neither the bartender nor the two servers who walked by bothered to acknowledge us or let us know someone would help us shortly. Our server was apathetic at best. It was clear she was there to do the minimal requirement of her job. No pre-bussing of dishes. Our appetizer dish was on the table through our entire meal. She got the job done and our food was served promptly, but her attitude was very apathetic. The food and the beer were "meh" at best. We both had specialty burgers - nothing special about them. I regretted not ordering the BYO burger for $3 less. The decor of the place is really nice, but that's all this place has to offer. It may be great for the locals, but I don't recommend making a special trip for this place. There's much better food and beer and plenty of places, wherever you're coming from. read more
