I am writing this review on the new Pooler location right off of Hwy 16 near Publix. They just opened and we went today to give it a try. I was very impressed and the food excellent. All of the staff were very friendly and it was very clean. We had a the salmon sandwich bagel and an egg bagel and both were delicious. If there were any criticism at this time it is just that the seating is limited but not much you can do with the space they have, maybe add more seating outside. I would highly recommend giving the new Pooler location a try, it would be nice to have a business succeed in this location! read more

The 912 bagel is FANTASTIC and I go there frequently between classes. My only gripe is that the girl at the front counter, short black hair, is ALWAYS rude. Never says hi and makes it seem like I'm being a nuisance just for wanting to order. I got there once and started waiting in line for 30 seconds and no one was there. When she eventually came out from the back she began to restock drinks in the front of the store, while a line of 4-5 customers started to form. She told us to wait while she restock. I've worked in the food industry and that's always something you do with extra time, not while a line of customers goes out the door. about to mention there was already plenty of the drinks she was restocking. The bagel is really good so I look past it but she's always there every time I go and she's rude EVERY time. read more

This place is primarily a bagel place in the mornings, but they were offering pizza in the evenings when I made it in. They seem to rotate this over time, and prior photos of their pizza look very different than what I got. More on that later. The hours are somewhat limited, being closed on Sunday and open only until 7. In addition to bagels and pizza, they had some local popsicles and several other items. Ordering online was wise, as they took a bit of extra time to get my pizza done. I watched other people eating while I waited. And I was totally misled, because they must have ordered the half size pizza. I ordered a square pizza, and I did not anticipate that it would fill an entire pizza box! Knowing what I paid for it, I could not believe there was that much pizza; I'll struggle to finish it in two sittings. It's not often in this economy that you get more food than you thought your money was going to buy. But let me not suggest that the quality was lacking. I had thought that the square might suggest a Detroit-style pie, but this was more of a lighter foccacia-style pizza. While substantial in area, the crust was airy and not overly heavy. The toppings were quite impressive as well. Ordering peppers got me a mix of hot and sweet peppers, and mushrooms were earthy and plentiful. They offered the option for falafel on pizza as a topping. I didn't think $6 would be worth it, but now I'm wondering if I would even have been able to see the pizza under the falafel. I'm all in favor of adding bean-based menu options, and indeed they had several things with vegan options in the store including a caesar salad and the popsicle, so this is a good place for people with restrictions (unsurprisingly, I don't think it's a place where you can really get much without gluten). The bagels looked appealing, and I would be quite happy to find myself coming back to try some of those. read more

I was in search of a great bagel, that would satisfy my post-halloween needs for deep flavor and cheesy goodness. and i FOUND IT!!! The korean mama was stacked high with Bulgogi beef, pickled onions, a delicious kimchi spread, american cheese, and KOREAN CHILI CREAM CHEESE (Yeah, I know!!?). It was such a delight. Latte was not too light and they had multiple alternative milk options and flavors. I ordered via Doordash, and my food was ready and delivered within 30 minutes. Ugh!!!! So good!!! Unfortunately and thankfully I don't live too close to this place!! We stopped in while out doing errands and there was some street parking available mid week morning but it seems to be a thing that you can order ahead and just stop your car in the middle of the street to pick up your order. I found that odd but there were at least 4 cars that did it in the short time we waited for our order. The place, super cute and tons of outdoor seating. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming! The Muffuletta bagel was a huge disappointment. Their muffuletta bagel was a slap in the face to the traditional, New Orleans claim to fame, Muffuletta. Scant deli meat and salami left me wondering, "where's the Meat"? Still a great bagel to be had here, but unless this sandwich can be improved it should be removed. No indoor seating, but plenty of umbrella picnic tables, and a few high tops for standing while you eat. read more

I was so excited to try big bon bodega based on other reviews and was so disappointed. Things I loved - The ambiance is nice with plentiful outdoor dining and quick access to parking off Bull or 37th St. The inside is essentially just to order and for staff to prepare everything. You can order ahead which is a huge plus and there's clear areas noting where to order in person vs pick up orders. Things I didn't love - sadly it's the food. The bagels are dense and kinda flavorless. It didn't have that give to them or bounce back that bagels have nor did they have that nice crunch that bagels have when toasted. I was spoiled growing up in the NE with amazing bagels and was excited to try these but they were a let down and made me just not enjoy the rest of my sandwich (the same for my partner). We even bought extra bagels to have throughout the week but didn't end up keeping them. The iced drinks were just meh. They were watered down and quite milky. The strawberry matcha in particular was totally lacking in flavor. It tasted like strawberry milk and felt like they were on trend but hadn't figured out how to make matcha taste delicious like it should. There's a lot of great breakfast places in Savannah so I won't be returning but everyone should make this own assessment as we only tried breakfast-specific items. read more

The bagels are perfectly chewy and seasoned, and the iced americano was such a great brew! Dinner is just at good where they make brick oven pizza and the most salad with pizza crust croutons. The service here is also AMAZING and the food always comes out quick and fresh. Make sure you get some bagels to go as well! This is definitely a super casual place, good for a quick morning or afternoon bite not for a lingering meal. The menu is truly unique and creative. From great coffee drinks, Matcha and teas to Detroit style pizza squares, desserts and Asian inspired bowls using rice, greens and mac-n-cheese as a base for the toppings. They have taken bagel sandwiches to another stratosphere offering Korean, Cuban, Mediterranean, American and European inspired choices. We split a B.L.A.TT - bacon, lettuce, avocado, turkey and a garlic aioli on a lightly toasted everything bagel and a Spicy-Bee slice of pie with beautifully crisped pepperoni, Calabrian chilis, red onion, cheese all drizzled with local hot honey. Detroit style pizzas are always square with an almost focaccia like crust. This placed delivered. The sandwich was perfectly balanced and super flavorful and the slice was crunchy, cheesy, spicy and sweet. I would eagerly return to sample more menu items. I have been hearing about Big Bon Bodega for months, and finally found an opportunity to try them out! I called on a Monday morning on the way to work to place an order. The girl on the phone was prompt and polite, and said it would be 5-10 minutes, and I would receive a text when it was ready. I ordered fried egg and cheese on a sesame seed bagel, and a medium coffee. When I arrived, I paid at the counter and waited for my order. After waiting for 15-20 minutes, I stopped an employee at the counter and asked where the order was. It had been sitting on the counter since I walked in the door. I never received the text. This was annoying since I was now late for work! Anyway, the food was great. The sandwich was definitely better than Midtown Deli (Not to bash another establishment, but people are always searching for the best bagel in town. Midtown Deli is great too!) The coffee was good, I would order it again but wouldn't go out of my way for this coffee specifically. Next time, I will order at the counter then I arrive instead of over the phone. My mom and I visited Big Bon Bodega for lunch and it was sooo good! When we got there, they were sold out of every bagel besides the poppy ones and we were fine with that! My mom got the BLTA on a poppy bagel and she loved it! I got the Bon Mi on a poppy bagel and it was soo delicious! As we were eating, they had put out the sold out sign for customers who were coming in, so we were glad we got there just in time! We sat outside on one of the picnic tables and enjoyed our bagels! We did need to wait about 30 minutes for bagels and this seems kind of typical from what we were understanding from the regulars, so do not come here super hungry wanting your food fast. Stopped here for a quick bite right before closing and chose the falafel pizza -- they had a lot of different individual pizza "slices" to pick from! My pizza was the perfect size and was so tasty! It was on a focaccia type dough with bits of falafel, black olives, tahini dressing and arugula. I felt so satisfied and comfortably full. This is a must try breakfast spot for those visiting Savannah. If you eat a heavy Southern breakfast just to say you did it, be sure to take another day to grab a bagel sandwich from Big Bon Bodega. We went late morning on a Wednesday, so it wasn't crowded at all. Staff was very accommodating to some minor swaps to their standard sandwich options. Food was excellent! Straight up black coffee was great too! Guy Fieri visited back in Feb 2023 for good reason. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Savannah as we were.
