    Bread pudding

Finally was able to make it out to my favorite BBQ in person. I can't say enough how amazing this place is. The food is delicious, service is great and the restaurant has a southern charm to it. We ordered the Pork belly burnt ends, comes with Crispy onion strings (my favorite thing on the menu), Fat Back Mac & cheese loaded with Brisket, Pulled Pork & Bacon with a fried egg on top and Ribs . Everything was absolutely delicious. The portions are generous so we ended up with tons of leftover. We also got the Bread pudding to satisfy our sweet tooth but was a little disappointed. The Bread pudding was very dense which made it very hard to get into it with a spoon. Everything else was so delicious . Can't wait to try other delicious things on the menu.

Mmmm Big Bore Barbecue, so good! Be prepared to wait if you go at prime time for dinner, this place gets busy! But it's worth the wait, they're slow cooking their meats right there and it's s good! There are plenty of seating inside and out, and picnic tables for you to sit and wait as well. They have a huge menu, you can buy meat by the pound and fabulous appetizers. It's a good thing this spot if so far from my home, otherwise we'd be there every weekend. Give them a shot, you will not be disappointed!

We stopped in after a bike ride. The smoker smell inside made my mouth water. The service was great and the food was very tasty. I enjoyed ribs with a side of bread, pickles and baked beans. The ribs were smoked well and fall off the bone tender. The beans had a nice smokey flavor. We also enjoyed pulled pork and mac and cheese. Not one item was anything but delicious. Can't wait to go back for more.

Lean flat-cut brisket with fat, or marbled point-cut brisket??
    Jim W.

A number of the reviews mention that the brisket was too dry. I think I now know why. Read on if you prefer good, moist brisket... Note: This was our first time here. When the waitress arrives, she announces that they are out of "burnt ends". (This is made from the moist, marbled part of the brisket called the "point-cut", which in Texas is called "moist brisket" or "fatty brisket".) She said that they still had brisket sold by the pound, so I asked if they still had the point cut (because if they were out of burnt ends, then they might not have any point cut left -- I don't like and won't buy the lean, often dry "flat-cut" of the brisket). She said something about helping me with that when we order, and left us to look at the menus. When we ordered I again questioned about this, and she said they could give me brisket with fat on it. Me: No, this is not the same thing (see above). We discussed further, and she assured me that she could get me what I wanted, so I ordered a half pound of it, plus some ribs. When the meal comes, it's not the marbled, moist brisket -- it the lean, flat-cut, with a layer of fat on top. I asked a third time whether this was supposed to be the cut I described; do they have the point-cut? She said she would ask the chef. Comes back and says the chef says "yes", they do. At this point I'm beginning to doubt myself, in spite of what I see. So I drop the subject and let her get on her way. I try it. It's not bad, but it's not marbled and therefore a bit dry for my tastes. Should anyone get an overcooked slab of this, I can see how they would complain about it being too dry! The ribs were ok, but overcooked in my opinion, so the meat was not thick and moist. The sides were meh. -- a potato salad that was sweet, not enough mayo and mustard, and no eggs. So it was not "...how grandma made it..." as they advertise. Not my grandma. -- and a cole slaw that was equally unmemorable. My two lunch companions enjoyed their sandwiches, so it was not a total bust. The ambiance outside on the deck on a gorgeous day was perfect (covered but open deck, by the way). The service was very good, outside of the complete misunderstanding of the Texas BBQ that they claim to be serving. Not her fault; from the management and on-down, they probably have no idea. So all-in-all, I wouldn't go out of my way again to visit here; your mileage may vary.

With ample parking, attentive service, and both indoor and patio seating, this Texas style BBQ joint (wood fired smoker) is definitely worth a visit. We started with the excellent house made onion rings before moving on to brisket, and both brisket and pork belly burnt ends. Like other reviewers, we found the brisket dry and flavorless, and the burnt ends were both overdone and in need of sauce. The highlight of the visit was the sides-- outstanding beans and mac 'n cheese, but the real star of the show is the Brussels sprouts. You do not want to pass on this dish!

First post here on this new adventure is one of the very best places that I crave often but don't make the trek to enough. If you're in the area of Hanover or Monticello, or even if you're not, make sure you do yourself a favor and get to @bigborebbqco for some of what our table was crushing tonight: Pork belly burnt ends(pro tip these are good cold from the fridge later too) Brisket Pulled Pork Mac n Cheese Brussel sprouts and do not sleep on the Baked beans(new must) If you want a bit of everything the Barbecue sundae is the perfect thing to get. This place is a must to add to your list. If you go, you gotta try the pork belly burnt ends. For more awesome food spots check out the account mallorymademetryitmn on Instagram!

What a surprise to find in Hanover... Came here for my dad's birthday and got right in, even though they looked really busy. Everyone was very satisfied with their food, lots of flavor!! I had the brisket sandwich - very moist, went well with their spicy bbq sauce Wife - had the Cubano, very filling. Flavor explosion. Kid - had the kids ribs and said they were delicious. Nice big parking lot, be prepared to wait. They get busy during lunch and dinner.

Finally got out to Hanover for some Big Bore Barbecue! We tried *Brisket: some of the best I've ever had *Sausage: just had one bite but it was good! *Cheese Curds: very good! (The cube kind) *Brussel Sprouts: nicely charred with a sweet, house bourbon sauce *Fries: kind of like skinny wedges? Good! *Burnt Ends: had the pork belly ones 10/10 *Mac Burrito: your choice of meat with Mac and cheese and queso? Yes please! Some of the best BBQ I've had in the state! Will definitely get again! If I recommend one thing it's the Burnt Ends!

I was really excited about finding another BBQ place that I hadn't known about before. Maybe I've just become too picky or maybe Sunday isn't the best time time to go but I was very disappointed. The ribs were warmish and dry and lacked the smoky flavor I was hoping for. The fries were outstanding but more ketchup would have been helpful. The place seem to copy Famous Dave's with a roll of paper towels and sauces on the table. For some reason the staff seemed unhappy and unfortunately it expressed itself as rudeness to us as customers. I'm sorry to say that I felt like our experience was a big dud.

A tray of meat! Pulled chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, and a small order of fries

Really great first experience. Stopped in with my family today after a visit to a nearby playground. We were so hungry, and the portions did not disappoint! The kiddos got cheeseburger sliders, and mac & cheese, and the hubby and I created a tray of meats. We had a quarter pound of the pulled chicken, a quarter pound of the beef brisket, and a half pound of the pulled pork. We also got their barbecue baked beans, which had a ton of chunks of meat in them (this was my absolute favorite part of the meal) and a side of fries with seasoned sour cream. The meats were all tasty, but the chicken was my favorite. Service was quick and friendly, we got our food fast, and the environment was casual and relaxed. There's a ton of seating, inside and outside. We will definitely be coming back and bringing my parents next time.

The Fat Back Mac & Cheese. YUM!!

OMG I'm in BBQ heaven and this is Minnesota! I was blown away when we drove up and I saw the size of the place and then couldn't believe my eyes when we walked past the BBQ pits, freaking huge. The interior makes you feel like your standing somewhere in Texas with an equally big outside area. It was a Friday night and the place was rocking the hostess told us 1.5 hours and we were happy to wait since they have a big bar and lots of craft beers on tap as well as a good variety craft cocktails. As we walked to the bar 4 people got up and we snagged so seats at the bar and were able to order dinner at the bar. Bonus! OK Let's talk food. It was off the hook. They have a huge variety of BBQ meats, sandwiches and with Tex Mex options. As soon as I sa the Fat Back Mac & Cheese I had to have it. It's chopped brisket, pulled pork and bacon to our House Made magic, then some bacon & a fried egg on top. The portion was more than I could eat and the flavor was perfect with juicy pulled pork & tender brisket. Can't wait to go back.

Big Bore Barbecue was beyond delicious for dinner tonight. The closest to genuine BBQ from Texas that I've found in MN! Everything was delicious from the ribs, to the cheese curds, to the brussel sprouts and the burnt ends. The service was beyond friendly and helpful with ordering and suggestions! The inside is a super fun vibe, open and lots of tables inside and outside. You gotta check this place out!!

I got there on a Saturday at 4:30pm. It was an hour wait. The food was OUTSTANDING! While I was waiting someone I knew was leaving and I chatted with them and asked what time they got there. They said they were there about 2:45pm and didn't have a…

If you want to partake in the happy hour, you have to either sit at the bar or in the high top tables. We didn't know this and wanted their chicken wings on the happy hour menu so ended up switching tables. In addition to the wings, my husband ordered the corn bread app which was pretty good too! Wasn't a huge fan of the spicy butter it came with, but strange but the bread itself was good. The wings had a good seasoning and the house made ranch was really tasty! Surprised there were only wings and no drumsticks which I prefer and the wings themselves didn't have a whole ton of meat on them so I'd give it 3/5 on the apps I ordered the 12oz New York strip and at market price it was $62, came with broccolini and French fries. My husband got the turkey burger which he wasn't a huge fan of he said but he enjoyed the fries. My New York strip wasn't seasoned well - if at all to be honest but thankfully they had some leftover A1 from Mother's Day brunch where the bartender made some bloody Mary's so that helped. Can't say the food was a knockout but the service was really good. The bartender who was our server was conversational, great dude, and offered great suggestions. Host and folks were also really accommodating when we hopped around the restaurant so we could participate in the HH. All in all, great experience and nice place to try!
