We thought that the closest Big boy restaurant was in Norco CA about 4 hours away, I was surprised we have one now only about 40 minutes away. So we had to take off and go check out the restaurant. Food was really good, I had the OG big boy burger while my wife tried their strawberry waffle from their strawberry fest menu. Both of us agreed our meals were really good, honestly that burger hit the spot. Our wait staff was really good and friendly. The restaurant his quite large and seating wasn't a problem at all. The Big Boy is part of the Terrible's travel center and casino. There are several slot machines in the casino and a large convenience store. The location is across from Creech AFB off of Hwy 95 in Indian Springs. All in all, it is a nice drive outside of the city, not to far away for some good food and its always great to get a Big Boy burger. read more

I am so happy to finally be able to write a review about Bob's Big Boy. I used to go here as a kid, when they had a location near Sunrise Mountain in Vegas. When heading to Reno, I will always make this a stop. Food (4/5) We got the Original and Ultimate burgers. The Original has a Big Mac kinda vibe, but it is the king of burgers here! The Ultimate was good, but you have to go for the Original. The onion rings are amazing. Chocolate shake was pretty awesome too, and definitely big enough to share between two. Service (5/5) Our server was so polite. She was so nice and personable. She checked on us frequently and worked the room great. Highly impressed by the quality in a rural quick service restaurant! Ambience (5/5) This place is brand new and beautiful. It has a modern flair and is clean. It is located within a Terrible's Casino, which is also new. They have very clean and nice restrooms. Make sure to stop here if you have to go! I am so happy to be able to attend this restaurant again. I love the food and the nostalgic feeling tied to it. Great place for families and an amazing new space. This place really has a 4.5/5 total score in my opinion, because I have other favorite burgers. Meh. I have wonderful memories of Big Boy as a kid - the best French Toast, haystack onions, cherry cokes. So, I ordered a diet coke - never got offered a refill. Hardly ever saw our waitress, especially when I wanted the bill. The place was practically empty, but somehow it was hard to get her attention. Their taco salad looked wonderful on the menu, but I was immediately disappointed when it arrived - rather than having a real taco shell bowl, it just had a sprinkle of crispy shreds (see photo). Does make it less messy to eat, but half the fun of eating a taco salad is picking pieces of the shell off. It also was supposed to have pico de gallo, but if you look at the photo it's tough to find any evidence of the pico. My wife had a bowl of chili. No beans, but she said it tasted like they mixed in refried beans. Gotta have real beans in chili. Looked like it was designed to fit on a chili dog bun. The view of the drones taking off and landing across the highway is a special treat though. There isn't much else in the area, so if you need lunch and to fill up your gas tank it makes for an efficient stop. read more

Nestled inside the Terrible's Gas Station and Casino is this Big Boy restaurant. I'm not sure the relationship with the actual Bob's Big Boy but hey, i was hungry so why not? They do have a Big Boy statue outside for free hugs :) Ordered a Chili Spaghetti dinner for $12.50. Came with a side salad. Got it to-go. Food was hot and flavorful. Spaghetti cooked al dente perfect. Salad was crisp and a perfect contrast to the dinner. Overall, a great experience for a roadside dinner. read more

First time here. Due to COVID there was a 20 min reservation wait but the receptionist was so nice and the manager was just the best. He found room for us in a back booth until our server, Karys could get to us. She should get an award for cheerful, attentive and professional service. Bob's Big Boy was the place when I was in my 20's (now 61) so I was glad to have a chance to try Big Boy again. However, the service was slow, the food was dry (at a place known for the sauce) and way over cooked. I mean the meat was like burnt leather and the dry stale bun was over toasted. I get that this was New Years Day, but it's inside a casino attached to a travel stop outside of Las Vegas and moon time. The facility was nice and reminded me of the originals, but great ambiance doesn't make up for a $10 cardboard burger. read more

I will start by saying this review addresses the food only. The staff we encountered were very nice. Just had the absolute worst hamburger I ever ordered. My wife and I both ordered Bob's famous Big Boy and an order of onion rings. We had been looking forward to eat here as we live in Indian Springs and we were former fans of Shoney's Big Boy in Richmond, Virginia. Our order arrived and the buns were still partially frozen and the burgers not warm at all. We asked to have the order corrected. When our orders returned to the table it was still cold. The bottom bun was still partially frozen. The burger patties were completely dried out, and no seasoning whatsoever were not fit for anyone to eat. I tried some ketchup with both and could not finish eating this horrible burger. Also our onion rings felt like they had just been taken out of the refrigerator. Bob's Big Boy is not this place. Absolutely terrible. Fortunately, our server's manager picked up the tab. Not what we wanted. It had been years and years ago since we had one of their "good" burgers, and again were were very disappointed in this place. Our server was very nice and she repeatedly asked us to come back and try them again. I just honestly can not think of why we would go back there, especially with their rather out of line prices. I was surprised to see a big boy restaurant located here. Who knew? I sure didn't. I thought this iconic restaurant closed down years ago?! Okay, so I aged myself. Sigh. Glad we found bob during a pit stop! It's located on the left side of the terrible's building, across the air force base. Upon entering the restaurant doors, we were immediately greeted and seated. The place was tidy and many customers were military personnel. The French toast was yummy! I loved the butter(?) it came with. Not sure if it was butter though. Whatever it was, it went well with the toast! Lol I wish I took a picture but I was starving. Haha They practice social distancing and sanitize in between customers. Masks are required. Old school throw back to my younger days. I can't remember what it used to taste like when these places where all over. I am also not a fast food kind of person. That said....just know it's located in the middle of nowhere inside a new casino. That means they can put whatever price they want. We got a burger, chicken sandwich, 1 soda, and chile cheese fries that came to $30. No issues with the burger I am told. The not so spicy chicken sandwich was just ok. The pickles on the sandwich were great. Also the chilie cheese fries order is huge and was very unexpected. The fries that come with the meal are the real star of the show. They tasted great and had a very satisfying crunch when bitten. I wouldn't drive out there again to get it but for a nostalgia trip I might in a year. read more

Been here 3 times and the staff is horrible and slow, it took over an hour to get our food while others sat down after us and ate and left before our food came out. We keep trying to enjoy this brand new restaurant but they fail miserably every time at every aspect of the restaurant business. Rude staff. Do yourself a favor and just keep driving! I have to say this location didn't disappoint. Growing up in Southern California and this being a staple when I moved here there were a couple location's here then all closed down. I was devastated but since I found out a month ago this location was open I have literally been there once a week. The menu is slightly adjusted from days of old. However the staples they are known for ( the Big Boy and fries and the hot fudge cake) did not disappoint at all. If you can get past the drive to Indian Springs (the new location will be open soon) it's worth it. The staff is phenomenal my absolute favourite server is Karys, I would recommend requesting her whenever you go she is the best, extremely polite, professional and great personality. Well, it's defiantly worth the 35 min drive from Vegas! Brings back a lot of memories from the Van Nuys and Burbank locations I used to go to as a kid! The only complaint is they do not use the real bleu cheese dressing you find in SoCal. I got the Big Boy hamburger and it was truly amazing! Perfectly cooked, tastes great! Fries are crunchy and soft on the inside! Service is great too! The Skye Canyon location will open in April per the manager! Can't wait! Also got the hot fudge cake and a chocolate shake both were spot on and delicious! Glad to see they are busy too even though we are under a communist lockdown from our corrupt governor.
