You know what, we live right on the street from here. And it's been here for years. We always pass by it but never really had a thought to stop in until recently. This place does get busy on the weekends of course. The music is a bit loud but not overbearing to where you can't hear one another. We did get seated right away. Family of 4.. Our server was kind and quick. We ordered mozzarella sticks, country fried steak and a basic breakfast with eggs, bacon and hash browns. Flavors were met, temperature was met and honestly we wouldn't mind coming back. We are breakfast people and always get disappointed but not this time! There's plenty of seating in general, but again, it's packed on the week-ends. Given how busy it was, service was pretty fast. The restaurant played some good music, similar to party club music, and it is a bit loud. Not too loud to not have a good conversation though, but louder than most restaurants. Their menu is good for breakfast and lunch. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just simple breakfast and lunch things. We had the chicken fried steak and eggs and the kids french toast with 1 strip of bacon and 1 fried egg. Portions were good. We also got a cup of regular coffees, and the portion was very dangerous. Only draw back some of our food came at different times but it was a very busy Saturday. The food was amazement and served piping hot. I've been seeing My Garage Kitchen pop up on Yelp ever since I moved to the north side of town but I only just got around to giving it a try. I stopped by a lil after they opened on a Monday morning. It was pretty quiet with only one other table occupied by a group of five. The restaurant was clean and I really liked the garage-themed vibe of the place. It gives the restaurant some personality and makes it stand out from your typical breakfast spot. I ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo and avocado. The dish was good and the portion size was generous but it didn't quite hit the spot for me. It may have just come down to personal preference as I was hoping for something a lil different flavor-wise. The customer service was okay.. nothing exceptional but nothing negative either. Overall, it was a decent first visit. Upon arriving we noticed the nice patio area to dine outside and the front. I thought the decorations were really on brand giving garage vibes with a bunch of different American car brands up along with the loud music. The service was alright, it was busy when we went. I was trying to make eye contact with our server to get a refill on our waters since the water cups are small and we needed a refill but was unsuccessful. The food was tasty. We ordered the Florentine Benedict with hashbrowns, MG patty melt with fries, and the Garage Loco sandwich with onion rings. The food is well seasoned but the chicken placement and onions of my garage loco sandwich was crooked so a lot of my sandwich spilled making it messy to eat. I love the theme of this restaurant! As a girl who grew up in a house full of mechanics it's totally cute! It's done tastefully. Not tacky like you would expect. What was unexpected was all the Spanish music. We listened to a lot of Selena. Nice upbeat tempos. The service was great very attentive. The ladies kept checking on us. We never had an empty water glass. They kept asking how the food was, making sure we did not need anything. Now on to the food I had the chicken and waffles. Not my cup of tea. The chicken was a set of two battered thin breasts. Would have liked to see some spices in the batter. The waffles were very sweet. Personally I would not order again. However the skillet was bomb! I had to come back and try their lunch menu. I went in on a Saturday - different vibe than Sunday, but still busy, which is always a good sign. Came here to meet a friend of mine, heard about it and thought would try it out. Was really interested in having breakfast. Was nervous at first because it is located in a commercial area and thought it might be very small. It wasnt. My friend was already seated. Our waitress was very prompt and nice. I ordered the western omlette with home fries and my friend had the burrito. In looking around waiting for the food, there is a bar inside. When our food arrived, the burrito was HUGE. My portion size was just right. I noticed my potatoes were cooked to perfection. Lot of times at other places they can tend to be overcooked. Not here. Definitely could tell the oil was fresh. Decided to come in today, as I wanted to try a new place. I'm glad I came in. We walked in and the restaurant was pretty empty, just us and another table. We were greeted and sat right away by a friendly hostess. The server came over in less than 2 minutes and asked us about getting started with drinks. We ordered chicken wings, a breakfast burrito and an omelette. Food came out quick and piping hot. The wings were the last item to come out, but that was fine with me, because they were crispy and hot There's plenty of free parking, as this is located in a strip mall. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and smelled very nice. They have a patio, so during the warmer weather outdoor seating is available. As we were leaving, I noticed that they have happy hour during the week. I would love to see how that goes. I came to My Garage Kitchen because a friend picked this place for dinner. This is not a spot I would normally eat at and now that I've dined here I know why. Their menu is all over the place in terms of selection and sadly most items were poorly executed. My husband had the Chicken Piccata and we both agreed that it tasted nothing like Piccata. It looked and tasted more like Chicken & Gravy with some lemon on it. I had a regular build your own burger and it might've been one of the worst burgers I've ever had. They peppered the burger so much that I was unable to eat the entire thing because it was burning my mouth. And there was also a very bad and overwhelming after taste and I'm not sure what that was. My table also split a Calamari dish and it was also one of the worst I've ever had. Instead of using a very light batter, it looked like they used fried chicken batter and it was just way too heavy and didn't taste right. And the service wasn't really that great. Not even one employee there could crack a smile and the atmosphere isn't much better. As soon as you walk through the front doors there is a pretty obvious smell like sewage and it's a pretty big turn off. If I was dining here alone I would've walked out but again I didn't get to pick the place. We were seated right away and our server was very pleasant. There are a few decor items depicting vehicles so it does try to have that garage theme here. The tables and chairs are basic but suitable for your meal. As far as the food, the soup was just ok, and the country fried steak was average. Basic meat out of the box into the fryer type but not bad. What works here? The prices, for $16 you get a good size fried steak, gravy, (2) eggs however you like, and toast with butter and jelly. Sunday brunch trip They were pretty busy at 10am. But we were seated with no wait. I got the chorizo omelette with no sides (low carb life is real). It was fantastic. Omelette was not overcooked and the chorizo was fresh. My sweetie got the breakfast burrito. That sucker was so big he could only finish half. I tried the Mexican mocha. Meh. Such a cute local spot, we loved the mimosa flight where you choose any three flavors. We selected pineapple tajin, prickly pear and cucumber basil. The prickly pear was absolutely fantastic. The pineapple tajin was my least favorite surprisingly.. We ordered chicken fried chicken, but received chicken fried steak . No we did not send it back. We just ate it and it was good. We would order again. We also ordered the My Garage breakfast and substituted the toast for one slice of French toast. My food came out cold, which was disappointing hashbrowns cold,eggs lukewarm, French toast lukewarm so that was really disappointing. When we got home, reheated the food and it was fine, but I just feel that as quickly as the food came out, I was expecting it to be hot. We would visit again. I would try something different on the menu. The atmosphere the vibe/service and the drinks alone I would give four stars. The burger was delish, and I loved the fresh jalapeños. 2. Pasta: this pasta dish was cheesey and we loved it. The shrimp were huge and had a nice meaty taste. 3. Chicken Caesar Salad: the chicken was a bit plain, but definitely good combo to the salad 4. Seared Tuna Salad: this was absolutely delicious, but a bit pricey for what it was. For dessert we shared the churros and unfortunately this was a big miss. The churros were as hard as rocks and just a mess. Probably would not get again. Craving for steak and eggs after New Year's at 5am so I found this restaurant at 6am , went there at 7:20am for the first time and I was the only one walked in and dined after they opened . I ordered steak eggs , the 16 oz. T-bone steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and eggs were over medium , it's served with plenty of country potatoes and wheat toast . Menu has several options to choose from that I would like to come back and try. This was my first visit and I love green chili pork. So I opted for their green chili omelette with hash browns and sourdough toast with a cup of coffee. Four in our party and quick delivery of beverages and food to our table. Hash browns were my favorite. The pork was tender but lacking in flavor. Serving size ample and price reasonable. Sourdough bread quality should be better as well as butter used. They also have a small bar and some outside patio seating. I ordered a grilled salmon (medium) and my husband ordered a patty melt (medium-rare). Both meals were a large generous serving and both meals did have good things about them like lots of tasty onions and cheese on the patty melt and my salmon dinner came with the best asparagus ever but both meals were also over cooked (well done). Our server was extra sweet and did offer to have our meals re-made but by that time we were about 1/3 done. They were extra nice and since we didn't send the food back took 10% off our bill. My brother had two dishes. The first was build your own burger and french fries. The the fries look like they have a case with seasoning on them. He also had these chicken fingers they do look crispy. They had good music we vibe to whoever was on the ox. They do have a bar seating area and the place is a good size with an outdoor area as well.
