We tried Big Chicken this weekend and overall it was a mixed experience. We arrived around 1:30 PM on a Saturday and the restaurant was very slow. There was only one other table waiting on food. Even with that, we had to wait to place our order because a conversation in the kitchen needed to wrap up first. Most of the tables still had grease and crumbs from previous diners. If it had been busy I would completely understand, but given how quiet it was, that stood out. We ordered the Original Sandwich meal and the Ultimate. I asked for ranch instead of BC sauce. After about a 25 minute wait, our food came out hot, which was a plus. However, my ranch was missing and I had to ask for it after the food was already served. The food itself was fresh, but it lacked flavor. My husband's sandwich especially was disappointing because there was very minimal mac and cheese on it, which is kind of the highlight of that burger. Overall, not terrible, but not great either. There's definitely potential here, but the service details and flavor just didn't quite hit for us. read more

Very solid place to go for chicken tenders! The tenders are nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The restaurant is not super big, but just enough space for people to get seats. Service is fast and friendly, perfect for a quick lunch. The portion sizes are the best part. Large amount of fries, coleslaw, and two pieces of Texas Toast. New chicken spot near my house - decided to give it a try on a day that didn't seem so packed. Didn't have any expectations but honestly really enjoyed it. The Mac n cheese chicken sandwich was really yummy and the chicken tastes of high quality. I also ordered the nuggets which again - tasted of high quality chicken, was just a bit greasy for me (probably bc they just came out the fryer and didn't have time to drain). The French fries were great, crispy and fresh. The staff was super nice and only waited about 10 min for my food. A bit pricey though compared to other fast food spots but the quality also seems a bit better than most. The shake was legit excellent. The chicken, I would never order again. Nor would I ever order the Mac N Cheese again. I started with the $4.99 Mini Salted Caramel Shake. It was plenty big enough and packed a big punch of flavor. If I came back, I'd request no whip cream. I'd rate 7.5/10. Up next, I tried the #4 Shaq Attack sandwich for $9.99. Sadly, it's just not good. The chicken is flattened, and pretty flavorless. I also, had the #3 Nashville Hot for $9.99 which is always my favorite at any chicken spot. Now it was better than the Shaq Attack, but maybe a 2/10 whereas the Shaq Attack is a 1/10. Lastly, I had the $4.49 Lucille's Mac N Cheese. It's like swallowing a tub of cheese. Very little Mac. After ordering I was notified that they ran out of Mac and cheese and I had to pick something else. No problem I got the fries. At last ANOTHER chicken place to really satisfy my chicken cravings, as I just can't get enough. I'm pleased to have Big Chicken as another offering to make my usual. The service was very welcoming and pleasant on arrival. I ordered a three piece tenders meal with Memphis BBQ sauce, mac n cheese, and coleslaw. Boyfriend and I ate here for our Labor Day weekend kick-off since I'm actually working Labor Day. The food was delicious, and the tenders were HUGE, juicy, and I had more than enough sauce to go with all of it. In fact I have one more sauce container that I took home. The coleslaw was a nice refreshing side and have me a good bolus of vegetables. What I REALLY think was a surprise star was the mac n cheese. Flavorful, creamy, TOPPED WITH CHEEZITS. OMG. Who does that??!! I never would have thought of doing that, but here we are, and it's BRILLIANT. The store itself is left nice and clean and has a funky atmosphere and vibe so that it's comfortable and relaxing to chill out and enjoy the meal. Decided to go check out Shaq's new chicken spot that opened up this month and we were not disappointed! Service and food were pretty good considering they just opened. We tried the Shaq's attack and the Nashville hot. Overall we appreciated that the chicken tasted like it was decent quality, it didn't taste heavily fried either. The fries were pretty good standard crinkle cut, but dipped with the BC sauce made them taste even better. The Nashville hot wasn't spicy, I'd say it was mild heat so if you like spicy you may want to mention that while ordering. The atmosphere was fun, especially if you're into Shaq. The place is filled with his jerseys, photos, and autographs, which added to the cool, laid-back vibe. The food came out within a few minutes and the staff was welcoming. They checked in with us to ask if we needed anything half way through our meal. Definitely planning to come back to try one of their shakes! read more

I'd say the nashville hot wasn't really spicy but tasted pretty good and same with the shaq attack. Nothing extraordinary but was a nice place to try for sure. The service was great, the staff was nice and very welcoming. My husband and I visited Big Chicken in Tampa, Shaquille O'Neal's restaurant, and we were seriously impressed. We both had the Big Chicken Sandwich (I got the Ultimate), plus fries and fountain drinks. The chicken sandwiches were absolutely amazing. great quality, served hot, and with the perfect texture and flavor. Honestly, they're way better than Chick-fil-A. This will definitely be my go to spot for chicken sandwiches from now on. Customer service was also really good, which made the experience even better. My only concern is something I've noticed at a lot of places lately... being prompted for a tip at the register before the food is even prepared. It makes me a little uneasy, especially at fast casual spots where you order at the counter. I never want to offend anyone or worry about how my food is being handled, but I personally prefer when tipping isn't prompted unless it's full table service. That's one thing I do appreciate about places like Chick-fil-A or Popeyes ... no pressure at the register. Still, overall, this visit was a win, and the food alone deserves five stars. I just hope restaurants rethink how tipping prompts are presented in the future. read more

Saw this place posted on a instagram page and had to stop by. It was busy inside and it smelt good as soon as i walked in which is always a good sign. I ordered the shaq combo meal and got a pb and chocolate shake as my drink and they both were delicious! The wait was short and they were quick to bring my order when i walked back inside. The workers were also super friendly! Gonna have to bring my friends to try a different item soon. Unimpressed by this new restaurant in Westchase. Service was slow and overwhelming, ordered combo #1 the original, the kids 2 tenders, which you only get 1 sauce per meal, and the Mac and cheese. Would have liked the sandwich to be a little warmer along with the fries. Fries were mid at best, Mac and cheese was a little better but nothing special, and the chicken didn't have much flavor at all. They were also out of lids for drinks and had no napkins on the tables. Wouldn't recommend coming here, many other better chicken places to try in the area. read more
