There's a sauce bar where you can pick the ones you want to try, shaq sauce is good and so is the chipotle bbq. Four and a half stars but I'll round up. I write my Yelp reviews not based on the fanciest but how something compares to others in its same category. Like of course you're not going to get the same experience as a sit down waiter service upscale pub or something to that nature. So this is compared to other fast casual chicken joints- one of the best I've been to! The place was relatively clean, the line was short, the staff was friendly enough and most importantly the food was super quick to get to us but also fresh/piping hot and clearly made to order with any specifications we asked for. I was in the area and suuuper hungry, so decided to finally check out Big Chicken, which has been on my list for a while. I got the big & sloppy chicken sandwich as a basket so it came with a drink and fries. The big & sloppy has fried chicken, as well as mac & cheese and crispy onions, so it was super heavy and can confirm I felt terrible afterwards, but it actually tasted really good. The chicken was fried and flavored well, and the portion size was decent as well. Fries were pretty average, a bit soggy and the shape was also kind of strange. I tried out the shaq sauce but didn't really like it so just ended up opting for bbq sauce & ketchup. Lots of seating inside, and service was pretty friendly. Food comes out pretty fast. Big chicken is one of my favorite Chicken spots in the greater Seattle area. The quality of their chicken sets them apart from similar fast food options in my opinion. The crispy chicken grilled cheese sandwich is a standout on their menu, and something I always recommend to others. The "Big Aristotle" and "Big and Sloppy" are also good options. Their online order system is really easy and makes it convenient to grab and go even when they're busy. Used to be a fan of the novelty here, but I feel like corporate tampers with the menu every six months and it's a different place each time we visit. The original "flat" fries were a fun texture and now they're crinkle cut. The sandwich I used to get is long gone. Some stuff sticks around but gets renamed. I came here for lunch while in between clients, and watching group after group pass by with bags of chicken that smelled divine. A quick google search and I learned this was Shaq's restaurant! I ordered 3 tenders, with ranch, Carolina BBQ, and shaq sauce for dips. For a side I got the mac and cheese. The only thing I didn't like was the Shaq sauce. It was too sweet, almost tasted like sugar added to some fry sauce. The Carolina BBQ, which is an aioli type, was amazing, and the ranch was really good. A lot of the sauces are self serve, but you have to ask for ranch, Buffalo, etc when you grab your order. The chicken is excellently seasoned, with black pepper and old bay coming through strong, and just the right amount of breading. The mac and cheese was true, stringy, melty mac. It comes with a cheezit topping (crumbs) which I think it could do without honestly. It doesn't add much to the flavor beyond extra salt, but it was still delicious. I would love to come back and try one of the sandwiches, or the Caesar salad. The ice cream sandwiches look delicious too. Staff was really friendly, the place was clean, and I only waited about 5 mins for my order. It's kind of spendy, but may have been cheaper if I ordered a meal. WOW!! This food was out of this world! This chicken was so amazingly seasoned and the breading was perfect! The strawberry lemonade was an amazing compliment to my meal. Just tried Shaq's place for the first time today. Did not disappoint. While a fried chicken sandwich often sounds great, not every restaurant can pull it off. The Uncle Jerome was the best fried chicken sandwich I've had in a long time. I got it with the thin French fries that they serve which was the perfect side. The Uncle Jerome is a very simple Nashville Hot sandwich that comes with just enough toppings with my favorite being pickles. Finally had time to check out Big Chicken down at the Landing. I ordered the Uncle Jerome as recommended by the staff there along with the "combo" sweet potato fries (subbed from regular ones) and a drink. The total came to $15 for the entire meal. Uncle Jerome has potential. But frankly, my chicken was not "BIG" it was average, something you'll get at Chick-fil-A. It had a good rub and was crispy and thick but it was not "BIG" like they advertised. Additionally, I was told it was spicy, I barely had any Nashville sauce on it. Maybe a drip of it at almost. So it was mostly just plain for me. It was a huge let down. My sweet potato waffle fries - huge huge huge disappointment. It's like a small size of mcd's fries and it was cold. This restaurant is situated in the landing at Renton. It is attached to the parking lot with Marshall's so there is a lot of parking available. Inside you order at the counter and then pick up your food and sit at a table. They have sauces by their drink machine with the plastic little containers. They had paper towel type napkins on all the tables as well. We got the uncle Jerome and the shaq attack. Both tasted good but was lacking the heat we wanted. The sandwiches were crispy though but a bit messy and fell apart especially towards the end. The waffle fries were good. While waiting for my food I ended up meeting the owner, David who was a very nice guy and talked to me about his business and you can just tell he has a love for spicy chicken! Pretty busy visiting Shaquille O'Neal's chicken sandwich shop in Renton. Even though there wasn't a grand opening sign it seemed like everyone knew about it already. Came on a Sunday #ShaqShimmy Business operations was on point. My friends and I were greeted at the door. Must have been the manager or owner of the franchise who welcomed us in and chatted with us for a bit. He gave us menus to peruse before heading up to the counter. Ordering was pretty easy. The gal at the register gave me a sample of their cookie. They request for your phone number to text you when your order is ready at the counter. They still check your receipt though. Food was hot and fresh. Tables were clean. It was an all hands on deck crew. They did a good job training employees. Location: At the Landing. They took the spot where Mucho Burrito used to be. It's in the same building as Panera Bread, kitty corner from Menchies, and south from the movie theater. The sauce is a self-serve section by the beverage, which I think is a kind of a horrible spot to put it next to because during peak hours, it'll just be extremely crowded between lines of people wanting sauce and people filling up their drinks. Loads of parking and they've got a pretty small menu, not overwhelming at all! Service was fast, we ordered a lot of food and it was quite busy but our food came out pretty fast. We tried pretty much all the sandwiches on the menu and sauces are self serve so we basically "made" some of the sandwiches on the menu ourselves. The diesel milkshake was delish, it's super thick so it's almost like DQ or McFlurry where you're better off eating with a straw, super good. The chicken is more or less the same for everything but I LOVED the shaq sauce and their chicken is insanely fresh and good quality, white meat. Tried some of the popcorn chicken a friend got and that was good as well. Definitely wouldn't be opposed to coming back, but hard to do a 2x price compared to Popeye's.
