Ordered online for pickup--disappointed to find the tenders were overcooked

Ordered online for pickup--disappointed to find the tenders were overcooked and noticeably smaller than usual. On top of that, I didn't receive the sauces I paid for. Not the experience I expected.

Either burned or cooked in old grease... either way unacceptable!!

Just when I thought it couldn't be that bad anymore I went back to Ezell's chicken today after over a year of not going because of the inconsistencies in their food and low and behold..... chicken was either burned or cooked in old grease but either way it was completely unacceptable. My lunch is 30 minutes so to go there order and get back to work is my whole lunch. Very disappointed and can't see myself ever going back. Service was about like the chicken looks, not very impressive. I wish I could cut the star I gave them in half.

Quality customer service! My family and I were so excited to support this black owned business! We've heard nothing but great things about their chicken and quality food. I was pleased to see the restaurant was featured on The Food Network which is like religion for a foodie like me. The chicken was fresh and hot. The sides were great! The serving size was better than expected. The fried okra and sweet potato pie were my favorites. The prices were a little higher than expected but definitely worth it! Quality customer service!

You see it I see it we all see it.

It was a large hair in my food. I feel sick and I just want to say please use a hairnet, wash hands and be clean. Thank you

Original fried chicken, buffalo chicken tenders, fries with Cajun seasoning, original chicken tenders, spicy fried chicken

I called in an order for pickup and was able to choose when I will be ready to pick up my food. It took about 20 minutes for me which is a short amount of time considering I ordered a lot of food. I ordered: two 3 piece chicken combo (one original and one spicy), chicken tenders, buffalo chicken tenders, potato salad, cream slaw, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. Between the original and spicy chicken I liked the spicy ones a little more as it had more flavor. Between the chicken tenders and the buffalo chicken tenders I liked the buffalo ones more. It was actually pretty spicy and more spicy than I thought. I liked the honey mustard sauce which was nice to balance out the heat. These orders came with a side of bread which was surprisingly pretty good and flavorful. Unfortunately they forgot the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes which are my favorite sides so I wasn't able to try these. The fries are your typical fries with Cajun seasoning. Overall everything was pretty good especially given it's a chain.

    half lb gizzards and liver

I used to go there for years, this is it for me. half pound of liver is koo but the half pound of gizzards? not even a quarter lb. i hope everyone checks out their food before they leave the shop. ya'll a bunch of thieves. i used to get the fried chicken but the quality has gone down. done with this joint and sad but whatever. your business and now you have lost mine

Spicy Chicken Tenders & Fries at Ezell's (Downtown Renton)
    Mike M.

When I saw that the Ezell's Skyway location closed & there was a new Ezell's in Downtown Renton, my only thoughts was "a closer Ezell's to home". Which honestly didn't make a whole lot difference compared to the Skyway location. Sticking to what I know & love, I ordered the spicy chicken tenders & fries combo. Unfortunately, I did not know that opening this new location would make me lose out on an Ezell's location close to home. Because after going 2 different times at night, this location has got to be the worse chicken I ever had, which does not meet my expectations for an Ezell's. Taking a bite of the chicken makes a craving for Ezell's immediately go away. Idk if this is due to the fact that I am going late at night, but either way I will not be returning to this location.

DON'T WASTE UR TIME! THE SMELL OF OLD GREASE WILL MAKE U TURN AROUND AS SOON AS U HIT THE DOOR.

I stopped in about 30 mins after they opened on a friday and they had a lunch rush, everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait at least 20mins. I ordered the 6oz catfish and chips which came with 3 catfish strips, fries, 1 hush puppy, chips and a drink ($16.99) I also got a side of mac&cheese. The positives: staff was kind, pastor at the counter would make jokes with customers and you could tell they had regulars during lunch time. Fries were well seasoned, hush puppy was good and Mac was acceptable. My only issue with the catfish was that it was overcooked and became a bit chewy (see photo). Sitting in there it seems like the wings were a customer favorite so I would love to go back and try their wings and other sides. Since my order took longer (there was a large order right before mines) the pastor at the counter thanked me for my patience and threw in a dessert.

I loved this fried chicken and the wings were so good. Honestly it's just simple good fried chicken, it was juicy and not too salty as sometimes breading can be. The wings though, they were my favorite, the sauce on these was so good. You just wanted to keep eating these and I did. I'd like to try more of their items soon. This restaurant location has been in operation for 11 years, a dream of retired NBA and local Rainier Beach native Nate Robinson, the restaurant originally was "Nate's Wings and Waffles" to provide memorable comfort food to a diverse community. The name has changed to reflect the current ownership and operation by Nate's sister Chelle and boyfriend Drae. I was drawn to the restaurant because I was looking for a traditional breakfast spot, but was challenged to find one in the area. Drae's Lake Route exceeded my expectations. It was clear that this is a destination for locals and by the steady flow of patrons this is the place to be. Good food made to order, dine-in or take out, plus choices of alcoholic or non-alcoholic speciality drinks to round out your meal. I chose the Deluxe breakfast, which comes with 3 meats (choice of bacon, pork link sausage and turkey sausage). I chose 2 thick sliced bacon strips and 1 pork link with 3 eggs over medium and (choice of cubed potatoes or grits) I chose the cubed potatoes with a buttered English muffin. My breakfast was satisfying and the refills of coffee hit the spot. I stayed long enough conversing with local patrons to transition to lunch and chose 1 pound of naked chicken wings, tossed in habernaro-pineapple sauce. My wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce provided just enough spice to liven my tastebuds. The next day I made a return visit for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I chose Ava's fish and grits plus buttered wheat toast 2 eggs over easy for breakfast plus coffee. As a son of the Southern United States, grits are a staple. My grits were cooked to perfection with a dollop of butter. I just added salt and pepper to taste. My catfish fillet was corn meal battered and was nicely seasoned. I later ordered the pork chop sandwich for lunch dressed (no mayonnaise), which comes with a choice of fries or kale salad. I chose fries. My bone-in pork chop was lightly breaded and fried on sliced white bread, old school! The sandwich took me back to my childhood, goodness like grandmother cooked, magnifique! My service over these 2 days has been fantastic. Chelle handles the front of the house and Drae handles the back of the house for a winning combination. Chelle manages the dining room with patience and top notch customer service, even calling customers by name. She is the epitome of a professional, even under pressure with numerous orders coming in near closing. Drae is friendly and an accomplished cook and car enthusiast, as seen by the decor in the restaurant. There is always a comforting tune playing and the venue has scheduled events featuring local musicians performing at their building next door. It is obvious the there is a lot going on at Drae's Lake Route. Check it out when in the South Seattle area. You won't be disappointed.

They had a good flow of traffic throughout the entire time we were there. They have two picnic tables outside of the restaurant for outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. We had the salmon Philly, fish & grits, and a side order of the waffle. - The salmon Philly was flavorful and the cheese pull was elite. We chose the fries as our side and they were cooked well. - I loved the size of the waffle! It was on the thinner side though so definitely don't put all the syrup on it unless you like it soggier since it soaks up pretty well. - I loved the combination of the catfish and grits because they balanced each other out well. The catfish was cooked to perfection, but I wouldn't eat it on its own since it's pretty salty, so you gotta eat it with the grits for each bite.
