How have I lived in Kent for over 3 years and never tried this place!!! Ordered on Uber eats for pick up. We got the whole rotisserie chicken with rice, beans and mac salad. Also came with 12 homemade flour tortillas. I started with the drumstick and the chicken literally fell off the bone. So juicy and flavorful. Side dishes were also very good! If you are expecting a mayonnaise creamy mac salad, this isn't it. It was light and yummy!! Beans were amazing, should have ordered extra side. Our meal also came with a green salsa and some sort of hot sauce. Both very good and complimented the chicken with a bit of spice. On a side note, my bf said the people working here were super friendly and accommodating. They forgot our tortillas and chased him out to the parking lot to give them to him. read more

Small restaurant near Kent station, with some parking out front, feels very authentic, and the staff are very welcoming. Order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. My friend and I ordered a half chicken plate each, it was so huge that I ended up taking half of that home! Delicious chicken and sides, it comes with fresh corn tacos too. Amazing value for money. The roasted chicken was super good! So glad we came here last night, they were busy but food didn't take too long to get out. They were hand pressing tortillas too. A tiny little place with minimal seating and good food. Think of it as food-truck food, but with a fixed kitchen and places to sit, as well as parking on site (which is a plus there). I got the carne asada, which was just what you'd expect from a reasonably good Mexican food truck. The staff was friendly and helpful. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be stopping in. read more

This place is super yummy. It's not quite 5, but it's a solid 4.5 so I rounded up. I had the 4 enchiladas with pollo and it might be my new favorite thing to eat! The meat is delicious and the enchiladas are tasty (note: not your typical enchilada). The cabbage cilantro slaw on this dish is perfect. Partner had the 1/2 chicken and sides with house made tortillas. Tasty but needed something fresh, like the cabbage slaw. That would've made it a home-run. Came here after a race event at SIR. We didn't have high expectations when we walked up until I saw the EXCELLENT food safety rating. We ordered the Pollo Asado (roasted chicken) dinner and it is seriously some of the best chicken I have ever eaten. It had great flavor from the grill, but was perfectly, dare I say....MOIST! We enjoyed the sides, as well. FRESH tortillas were terrific! It was a lot of food, but the two of us put a pretty good hurting on it. We still had some to take home, as well. With the new job headquarters being nearby, it allows me to explore this area more and thus far, quite happy! A very solid 3.5 Stars. Reports of dry chicken and meat are erroneous at least on my Friday and Monday visits. Note: I chose roast chicken both times instead of grilled. Both proteins are quite juicy here and fear not of any disappointment. The rub that they put on both the chicken and carne are almost perfect, right before the threshold of the "tad bit salty" meter. Could eat alot of this...... The rice, slaw, and beans all seem quite fresh and no complaints with them. Tortillas are great too. Have not needed to even sample the salsa bar yet! Don't need it here! I REALLY wish I could get just the meat and exclude any sides, but they charge the same either way. Trying to lower carb intake won't happen here. While tasting great, the $14.99 for the #16 is a buck high.....it does not match the hole in the wall ambiance. With the hole in wall ambiance, there is a fly or two buzzing around but most likely just situational. Will always consider if nearby. read more

It's cinco de Mayo, and I really didn't want to cook. Due to the lockdown, we can only do delivery or curbside pickup. After searching for a place on yelp, we decided to try El Senor Pollo De Kent. It was listed on door dash, plus the delivery fee was so affordable. Being high risk it was best for us not to go pick up, but have it delivered. They did not disappoint. Even though this place is basically down the street, we have never tried this place. Growing up in L.A., it's difficult for us to find good Mexican restaurants. We've tried several in our area that were not good, so we are skeptics when we see good reviews on yelp, because so far we haven't found any we liked. That being said we were pleasantly surprised by our food from El Senor. We wanted to support the businesses in our area, and so glad we did. The roasted chicken was moist with good flavor, my husband loved the spicy sauce, and the whole roasted jalapeños. I thought the little steak tacos were pretty tasty. Is it like the ones in Southern California? Not really, but it was still good. As soon as the lockdown ends, we will for sure visit this establishment in person. read more

And I almost don't wanna write this review so it doesn't become so popular that they start charging more money and offer wait service and move into a fancier building and all that hipster BS. El Senor Pollo De Kent is perfect just the way it is. I came here for lunch after a meeting and the place instantly smelled so good soon after I stepped inside. El Senor Pollo has a straightforward menu with entrees, combinations and even whole chickens for sale. After asking the cashier what she recommended, she said anything with the chicken, so I ordered a number one, which is a two-piece chicken combo. It didn't take long for the cashier to bring out my food, and even before sinking my teeth into my lunch - I just knew I was gonna love it. The chicken was incredibly juicy and looooved the hint of spice seasoning that they used on it. I also liked that the number one combo came with dark meat, which is what I prefer. And with the chicken was rice, beans, salad and a choice of corn or flour tortillas. And holy shit were the corn tortillas amazing!!!!! I told myself that I would only eat one, just to try since I'm on dat low-carb life (trying!!!), but they were so freaking amazing!!! Even as I was dining in the cashier was making the tortillas right there, so you know there is something about housemade tortillas that Mission can't ever do for ya. The rest of the sides were also very good, especially when you combined it with the chicken to make a taco. UGH, carbs, but, LOVE. Also make sure you take advantage of their salsa bar! I tried a little of everything and loved all of the different flavors. For anyone who loves SPICY - then this won't disappoint. No mild/child's play here. My only regret was only getting the two-piece chicken combo instead of the half-chicken combo, or hell, even a whole chicken. But now you know where to find me in Kent. I WILL BE BACK. read more

Im not one to leave reviews let alone negative ones, however this experience compelled me to do so. For a place that literally has chicken in their name, I'm actually amazed they were able to make a chicken thigh dry! All the sides were flavorless and under seasoned (rice, beans, salad) and all the proteins could easily have been classified as jerky. The food was cold, but I can't blame that on the establishment. That would be an Uber eats/delivery driver/logistics failure. And certainly don't expect them (Uber) to remedy the situation. It was my first time trying their cuisine so I'm willing to try again and chalk it up to a bad night. Otherwise I'd say try one of the other four or five chicken joints in the nearby area. read more

I've read reviews where people describe some spots I've been to as 'hole-in-walls' and I'm like "Yo, do you know even know what a hole-in-wall is?" This is a real one. It's small inside, no artful decorations, nothing to comment about on ambience. It's minimally simplistic, but has character. Menu board behind the counter is to-the-point and centered on chicken as the name of the establishment suggests. Had the #16 Combo Señor Pollo. Comes with six hand made tortillas, chicken thigh and leg, chicken filet, carne asada, rice, beans and salad. The chicken is really good. They rub it up with some seasoning that give it a lot of flavor, and it's super succulent and crispy. The carne was good too, but the chicken stole the show. Places like this just go to show that even the smallest and most unassuming spots serve up some of the best food. It's a great place to stop for some quick and cheap Mexican food, or even take-out. A frequent customer here, I've ordered several times from this place. I ordered 1/2 a chicken a few days ago and it was great, so I decided to order a whole one the next day. As soon as I open the bag, I got a nasty smell coming from the food, I knew it was the chicken that was giving out the cooked and some kind of chicken manure ( yes, it smell like poop). I'm assuming they didn't cleaned the chicken all the way or it might've been spoiled! Either-way, I wasn't about to eat that, after 2 bites I put that portion in the garbage and only had a growling belly for a few hours, a slight stomach ache and couldn't stop burping. I called soon after trowing it in the trash and they told me they will refund me or I could get another, I opted for another chicken trying to give them another chance, but with a different type (roasted) instead since that Grilled chicken literally gave me a bad test in my mouth. I guess I missed the part where they expected me to drive to their store to pick one up, I figure since I ordered for delivery and I mentioned this to them that I'd get another replacement delivered to me, not to make me drive to their place to pick it up myself. It was their Chicken that was bad, I don't return things or complain much. I called today and I was basically told that I missed the part where I was supposed to go get it myself and since that was yesterday, I'm SOL today. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from them again. I'm not confident they are following all the needed steps to keep their customers health in their best interest. I had a craving for fried chicken tonight. Sure, I could have gone to Heaven Sent or Ezells, but I kept driving by this place every time I would go home. I figured that it was late, they seemed cheap, why not? I love the homey environment for the restaurant, a former smaller fast food joint, now family owned. The counter woman was actually making handmade corn tortillas. I was faced with a difficult decision, seeing the fried chicken on the menu, and I went with her recommendation: the carnitas. I also ordered the chicken strips and chips to go with it. When I got home, I was a little disappointed with the chicken strips because, well, I received the prawns and fries instead. It was alright, just mediocre at best. I think I've had better from the grocery store frozen food section. That's down a star for me... But had I not gotten them, well, I'd have given 5 stars, just because the carnitas were to die for! The pork was well seasoned, and slow cooked to tender perfection. The veggie mix had some well sauteed onions, some raw onions, some sliced jalapenos, some appropriately ripened avacado, and some sliced tomato. Combined with the handmade tortillas that I just watched come off of the flat top? Oh man! Just absolute perfection! A perfect blend, and a great portion size as well too! My walk in order didn't take much time at all for them to put together, and they were super friendly. I'll definitely make my way back because its nice to see a small family place right off the middle of downtown. Definitely recommend, and I'd imagine as I go through more of the Mexican menu items and stay away from the American ones? I'll find even more treats in the food! read more

Incredible! My husband works near here and on a whim my craving for mexican food demanded that we try this little joint out. Phenomenal. It's not a ritzy place by any means; it's a cozy cafeteria-style house serving up probably the most authentic Mexican food I've had (even considering the restaurants we went to in Tulum!). It's homestyle, no fancy presentations.. just a GENEROUS portion of the most delicious things you've ever eaten. We ordered carnitas and the 1/4 chicken (special #1). The carnitas were seasoned fabulously and just melted away. The grilled onions and sides complimented it perfectly. The chicken was cripsy and still juicy.. and perfectly seasoned as well (I loved the beans and slaw, the rice was just average). We were blown away by the handmade tortillas (made to order!) and the tasty salsa bar. We still can't believe how good everything was. The even more fantastic part? All of this tastiness, probably way too much for 2 people, was only $14. WHAT??? That's like the price of a tiny entree at a normal mexican joint. Consider us sold for life. The service was incredible and we left on cloud 9. Do yourself a favor and try this no-frills, down-to-earth place. We wish there were more up north! read more

We stumbled on this place by accident. Getting out of work late, we apprehensively decided we'd go to a place where we said we'd never go back to but thought we give it one more try (would've been our 2nd time, obviously we were too hungry to care) we walked in and found that it was not the same taco place we had gone to. It was crowded with large families with children and thought, "interesting. This isn't the place we had gone to". We ordered our food and waited. The rice and beans here will be my weakness food was sooo good!!! So much for my low carb start day... I'll have to start tomorrow! . So this is an update: we've been here a few times in about a week and it was amazing. Today however is a different story. The food was not great.
