Big Chief Go Karts has the potential to be a fun family activity. The outdoor track itself is nice, and I can see why people are drawn to it. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it for younger kids because the safety measures simply aren't where they should be. There was very little guidance from staff, no shoulder harnesses, and no padding on the steering wheel. During parking, be prepared for kids crashing into the back of your kart, which resulted in more than a few cases of unexpected whiplash. What concerns me most is that this isn't a new issue. If you read through previous reviews, you'll find the same safety concerns being raised going back nearly 10 years. At some point, this stops being an oversight and starts looking like a choice. Height requirements alone aren't enough... there should also be a minimum age requirement (I'd suggest around 13 years old). For comparison, we also visited Tom Foolery's go-karts during our trip. They were actually $1 cheaper and had shoulder harnesses, padding, and a system that automatically slows karts down during parking and to help manage accidents. I truly hope Big Chief addresses these concerns, because with better safety standards, this could be a much different review. read more

It was terrible. Our ride got cut short when kids got hurt one kid hopped out of his go cart because it was turned around and they could do nothing about it. I would give them 0 stars but I can't. Don't do this you could get seriously hurt. Then the managers did nothing. We asked for a refund but they said no even though they gave another lady her refund the ride was terrible and the customer service was horrible. They probably lost 70 dollars when they were arguing with us with all the people that walked away 1 star. read more

We had so much fun here! We appreciated that you only had to be 55 inches to drive. Shorter kids can ride with an adult. It's $6 for 3 laps around the track. We ended up paying for it 3 times because the kids were having such a blast. This place is also owned by Mt. Olympus, fyi. read more

Never again. I would give Big Chief zero stars if I could. Cheap - but incredibly dangerous with no oversight. There was a family of riders who rode several times and were out of control the entire time. They hit people head on, were spinning other cars, and treated the entire thing like bumper cars. They made an another young rider cry, and one of the family members crashed full speed into the back of our car as the ride came to an end. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an accident had it been their first ride, but it was at least their third, and they drove through the entire pit at top speed. Employees did nothing. We will happily pay twice as much and go to Yeti which has clear rules and expectations. read more

Horrible experience. No seatbelts felt unsafe right away! Went straight onto the road no rules said or anything. They're were inexperienced kids causing unsafe situations. Multiple spinouts!! This was a quick stop for us after we had something to eat. It was an amazing time for my whole family ages 6 to 43. I thought the passing and bumping was fine and the different ability drivers dealt with it perfectly. We went multiple times in the same night, lines went quick, and everyone working was friendly. All of my children had a lot of fun. We are planning on going back again today. If you're going to a go kart place, you have to expect the smell of gasoline and some uncleanliness. This place looks like a lot of places I've been to throughout the entire country. Highly recommend especially for only six dollars. read more

I did this two times. The first time was very fun and nice except for the hill with a turn. The second time went very bad, I am not happy. I was riding the karts and a family came and decided to play bumper cars. They slammed into everyone including little children and me. They even bumped into someone very badly that the person's kart spun out of control. Also my break petal did not work. I ended up with a sore neck and my arm hurts. I do not recommend this if you have a little child and do not want to get bumped into. read more

I wish I could give a negative star. This is the worst go kart place I have every been to. The employees had no control of anything going on. So many stalled cars, bumping and careless driving. At the end where you drive in to drop your car off, every time there were cars that came in at full speed and hit others. Tons of bumping and crashing with no consequences. Their 3 dollar tickets are just a shameful attempt management to hoodwink the public into making a very regrettable decision. When prices seem too good to be true it probably is, and that's the case with this place. There are no safety regulations. The Go-Karts there are cheap, salvaged, refurbished parts and that's the best thing I can say about them. It is one of the most unpleasant driving experiences I can imagine. There's no safety restraints in the karts. There's also no rules, or at least that they care to enforce. The tracks are so narrow that they just don't care about people crashing into each other. It really seems like this is part of the experience there. It really pissed me off because people were intentionally doing this on the track. Come here if you want to experience the effects of whip lash. Otherwise keep your money in your pocket and ignore this place because I can tell you they will ignore the safety and quality of you. read more

When we rode the go carts, my son's go cart would hardly move at all and he has to have an employee push him up the hill each lap. The smell of gas was terrible. So many problems with this place! One-they dont enforce their no bumping rules, people drove around like these were bumper cars and it was extremely dangerous. The carts are really fast and there are basically no safety precautions, including seat belts. Some teens were playing around on the course-the employee did nothing-they caused a really bad crash and collided with me extremely hard. I'm in so much pain today from the crash. I have a bruised ankle and hip and my neck is stiff and in so much pain, I was hit so hard I'm nearly positive I have whiplash. I told the employee and he did NOTHING and let the others remain on the track. Next-they didn't enforce social distancing in the lines at all, despite signs posted saying the patrons had to. The action was hot and heavy at the track tonight! It was warm enough for the tires to have the right amount of grip in the corners! Despite slow cars and slower, inexperienced drivers I was able to work my way to the front! For my efforts I got to have my picture taken with a trophy!!! The price is right, $3. Kids are free if they ride with an adult (but not if they drive). That's the good. The bad is that the karts are old, the steering wheels are filthy (2 of our 3 drivers had totally black hands after), and the karts don't all go the same speed. We were all driving with the pedal to the ground and got passed by some jerk. That would be OK if the track was two lanes wide, but it's not. The jerk was bumping us into the rails, which scared the kids (especially because there are no seatbelts) and didn't feel good either. The price is right. These things are $3 a ride and the rides are about $5. They are your stock go karts nothing special, maybe even left over from Mt Olympus across the street. But overall nice. I liked them almost as much as A Dare go karts. Worst experience I've ever had go carting. This place is full of a**holes. This a**hole was going way too fast and bumped into me HARD. I got a concussion and had to go to the hospital. The course is way too narrow and there's no space to turn. 25 cars go at the same time, and the course is way too short for that many cars. You are packed like sardines into a tiny place. It's cheap and it feels cheap. If you're looking for cheap, this is it. The course is very short and poorly designed. People are constantly crashing into each other. Also people kept getting stuck and having to get rescued, cuz the course is too narrow. It's dangerous and unsafe. Do NOT bring your children. read more

We called earlier and they said that they were open until 10pm or maybe later depending on the crowd. Management should get control of the kids they have working. They are not honoring the hours they are supposed to work and they have no work ethic or business sense. We are now down at Take A Dare go carts and they are still open. I thought it was pretty good for the price, you can't beat $3 with all those other expensive places. I also love that little ones can ride along for free. I think the speed was just right as i did have a small one with me but i still enjoyed it myself. We specifically loved the small hill you go down that makes you go a little faster. would definitely go back with that price! read more
