We've been here multiple times (for lunch and dinner) and it's always been an amazing experience! We've tried almost a third of the menu and everything is always delicious. Our favorites would be the classic country fried steak and the chicken pot pie! I would recommend going earlier if you want to try any of the desserts (so worth it!!); whenever we go for dinner there's limited options since most are sold out by then. There's also an ATM machine if needed!

Been a few years since vs e we were here and was disappointed because they didn't really have to many bbq options available. Had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and purchased an extra side. The pork was smoked well but the sauce on top was more vinegar than sweet as I ordered. The beans were very good but the potato salad had a very unusual taste that was very unpleasant.

A historical stop along Old Route 66, BCR has been serving transcontinental travelers decent meals since 1929 (it's noted to have attracted legends such as Babe Ruth and Al Capone?). Just off the beaten path, you'll find casual dining ambience with smiling, friendly and attentive service and comforting home-cooked dishes. Overall, a solid 3.5+ for my experience; expect to pay around $12-25 for meals depending your hunger and craving. A full bar area plus Patio and main dining room seating. Tried the Fried Green Beans as a starter; served hot from kitchen with wasabi ranch (or regular ranch) dipping sauce. App was complementary with having a cold beverage and watching football! Tasty, shareable app (good varieties to choose) for 2. For dinner, ordered their house Chili (good flavors, heavy beans) "loaded up" and then shared a house-made Albacore Tuna Melt on Sourdough with Cheddar, Tomato and Bacon. Nice combo sandwich served with choice of side (picked house-made chips - crispy and fresh). It was solid for a local eatery, but I would've enjoyed my sandwich more if "grilled" crispier (seemed more toasty) like making one at home. But lots of good menu options to try ... crafted Burgers, local Pizza, full Dinner entrees, Salads and more - next time i'll try a Burger, Chicken Pot Pie or the Country Fried Steak. Check out BCR if exploring old Route 66 in Pond, MO. Enjoy!

This restaurant is big with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is also big offering stuff mushrooms, nachos, poutine, potato skins, wings, toasted raviolis, soup, salad, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, flatbreads, pot pies, salmon, etc. Blueberry pom martini $7.50 - Didn't taste much blueberry, but it was refreshing. Fried green beans $12 - Crispy and delicious! They are addictive and you may want your own basket. Reuben $13 - Served on marble rye with a good amount of smoked pastrami. Came with pickles and fries. Turkey Club $14 - Good sandwich. Carrot Cake $10 - Good, not great. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024

We knew there was a speakeasy but unfortunately it was closed on the weekend when we went. It didn't state on their website nor social media. We ordered the ribs and a hamburger. We thought the ribs were tasty, however the burger was okay. Our waitress pretty much ignored us where we had to let her know we are ready to order and get the check. I would not recommend going back here for the food, but would be a good experience for the atmosphere.

The restaurant is run down. Food is mediocre at best. Not the restaurant it was 10 years ago. Do yourself a favor and bypass the Chief.

Does Big Chief offer delivery? I know Yelp states several restaurants "do" offer delivery that really don't. Has anyone ordered delivery from them? Thank you.

I can tell by the size of the ribs these were not baby back ribs but traditional pork spareribs. The ribs were tender which is crucial for ribs. I like it when ribs are cooked the last 30 minutes with bbq sauce which gives the ribs more flavor. These were not cooked this way and is why they give you eight sauces to use. I tried their Sweet, Carolina, Memphis and Jalapeño Carolina. I think the Jalapeños Carolina was the best of what I tried. The green beans tasted like they were cooked on the grill then seasoned. They tasted good. The corn bread was the right consistency and tasted good. I received excellent service. This is a cute little bbq joint in Ellisville. There's a large parking lot in front of the restaurant.

I read about this place somewhere and added it to the list and we tried it tonight! The patio was empty. I'm guessing it was because it was near 100 degrees. The bar area was pretty full and the dining room was fairly busy when we got there, but we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was pretty new, but she was friendly and gave us some recommendations. The menu looked great so it took us a few minutes to make our choices. We started with drinks and I ordered the Blue Heeler which was nice and summery and refreshing. My husband ordered a beer. We decided to start with the Fried Lobster Bites. We each ordered a sandwich and we split them between the two of us. We got the Local House Burger and the Reuben. We chose fries for our sides. I know the Fried Lobster Bites are popular, but we're not fans. They were too salty, very heavily breaded and the lobster wasn't great. We won't get those again. Both the burger and the Reuben were really good! We ate the Reuben first because the bottom piece of bread was already getting a little soggy (not sure that I've ever had one that didn't get a little soggy). There was a lot of meat on it! The burger was good, but I was already full and only had a few bites. The fries were also very good! We'll definitely be going back!

Go to watch the game, order any of the burgers, spend the extra buck to upgrade to the tots side, and enjoy. It's a nice relaxing way to get your sports and tavern food hit.

I always do build your own, you fill out the sheet from a pad on the table choosing your ingredients by category. I usually get the beef but last couple times I have ordered chicken but got similar toppings, Spinach, tomato, chipotle aioli, and fried jalapenos on toasted sourdough. Love it! For a small upcharge you can get a salad as a side, I like to do that because I can steal a few of the delicious fries from my companions. The salad is generous, spring mix, red onion, tomato, croutons. It comes with shaved parmesan, but I ask them to leave that off. The champagne vinaigrette is perfect. This is my favorite burger place, but I like that I can get a great chicken sandwich!

She asked if we had been helped yet and we said no. She got us a cocktail menu (one was not given to us with our food menus). She was a good server throughout our time there! We ordered drinks and a starter and then figured out our entrees. We LOVE big pretzels! I've never had a bad one - until the one we had here. It was not good. There were little black seed type things - maybe poppy seeds? Unusual and not good. But even without that - not good. And the two sauces that came with it weren't good. My husband had pizza and said it was okay. I got fish and chips and did not like it. There were three pieces of fish, tartar sauce, and coleslaw. I chose onion rings for my side. I ate one piece of fish. It was really overcooked. The tartar sauce was not good. I didn't try the coleslaw because it didn't even look like coleslaw! My husband will try just about anything and he wouldn't try it. The onion rings were okay. We were there on a Saturday night and it wasn't very busy. We won't be back.
