We had eaten here before and the food was okay and we decided to give it another try. Well, this time, we were not pleased at all. I ordered a beef brisket sandwich and my husband ordered the half slab rib dinner plate. My beef brisket sandwich was embarrassing for a restaurant to serve. Not one slice of brisket on the bread at all. More like shreds of tough brisket loaded with sauce. I scraped all the shredded meat together and it filled only half of the bread. For the amount of money we paid for the brisket I was very upset. It was not worth my gas or time to return the sandwich. We will not return. And, they listed four desserts on the menu and only had one available. They were out of all of the others.

I also have to remind myself that a lot of the people saying this in their reviews may not originally be from the St Louis area (which is ok) or they have grown up in an area in St Louis that never had them. As far as I can remember, there were food trucks around my way back in the early 1980's. However, when I talk to the old heads, they go even further back to the 1960's in St Louis (and again that all depends on where you lived). So while the industry itself is not new to Saint Louis, my food experience with Street life is. When the Street Life truck pulled up at my location, I decided to do something I never do: try an oyster po'boy sandwich other than my mother's. ) It's just something I never would do, until now and wow the oysters were fried to a caramel brown perfection. The roll was fresh and nicely toasted. The pickles onions and aioli sauce complemented the fried oysters extremely well.  Fries were hot and crispy. The staff was courteous and nice. The wait time was about 10 minutes. 5/5 If the Street Life truck is ever in your vicinity, don't act brand new... Check them out!!!

I also ordered the 3 piece tender meal with no spice for my child. The signature Chuck's sauce that came with the meal tasted like a combination of barbecue sauce and honey mustard. It was actually pretty good and surprised me. I was a little disappointed that they don't offer regular honey mustard or barbecue sauce as separate dipping sauce options. I also ordered honey as a dipping sauce for both meals, but I only received one small packet of honey for all eight chicken tenders. One packet simply isn't enough for that much chicken. This location is next to Cecil Whittaker's, and both restaurants share the same front counter employee, although each has its own pickup window. There is no indoor seating, so this location is pickup and delivery only. Overall, I really enjoyed the chicken and would definitely order it again. Next time, though, I'll double-check that I receive enough honey and that a "no spice" order truly comes with no spice.

Once I got to the website, it stated they are not accepting on-line orders. The cashier disappeared, so I used the kiosk to order. The offerings on the kiosk were the same as website, all the items I wanted were not available. I almost walked out, but I drove a half hour to experience C & K, so I ordered BBQ Nachos and a Diet Pepsi. I then took a seat and waited. The cashier then yelled out from the back, what did you order. I repeated my order and she said, oh, okay. A bit later she finally called my name and gave me my order. So I could enjoy it hot, I went out to their patio. At that point I realized she gave me a Pepsi, not Diet. Once I open the carry-out vessel, the jalapeños and onions that were described on the kiosk, were missing. All the tortilla had on top was, BBQ Sauce, Queso and the Brisket. The BBQ sauce had a nice spicy flavor, there was plenty of queso and the brisket was tender. I'm not positive, but I think they made their own tortilla chips. I love jalapeños, if they had added them, the nacho would have kicked ass. I'll be back and when I am half way there, I'll pull into a parking lot and phone my order in.
