They repaired my indoor coil and I paid $1,280 out of pocket for the work and additional items they said were necessary. Unfortunately, my AC froze up again the same day the repair was completed. Vargas had to come back to my home multiple times--three visits in total--before finally telling me that the outdoor condenser was completely bad and needed to be replaced. After already paying $1,280 for a repair that failed, I was then given another estimate of approximately $1,915 in non-covered charges for the condenser replacement. I repeatedly asked Vargas for a complete itemized breakdown of these charges, but I had difficulty getting one. The estimate included charges for things such as a pad, disconnect, locking caps and line-set insulation. I questioned the line-set insulation charge because my previous invoice already showed that Armaflex/line insulation work had been performed. I also questioned whether some of the work being charged was work that had already been completed during the previous repair. The paperwork and information being reported to AHS did not appear to match what I was being told. AHS eventually escalated the issue and told me they would contact Vargas because the information did not match. There was also confusion over payment. Vargas initially wanted payment before moving forward with the condenser replacement. At one point I was told they needed at least half, and then I was told they needed the full payment. I was uncomfortable paying nearly $2,000 before the equipment was even ordered and installed. After everything I've experienced, I feel like I spent weeks making phone calls, asking questions and trying to get straight answers while still being without a working AC. My experience with this company has been extremely frustrating. I would strongly recommend getting everything in writing, requesting a detailed itemized estimate, comparing it with any previous invoices, and making sure you understand exactly what you're paying for before giving this company any money. I would strongly encourage you to not use this company all they want is your money and will not fix your AC!!!!!

HW came, did something to their AC and said they needed a new condenser fan motor. $700.00. As soon as he left, their AC stopped working. Worked fine all year... the exact moment he left it no longer functioned. The odds are astronomical that the system suddenly broke the moment he left. HW maintains it was a coincidence and the motor was already failing. 100+ degrees and elderly people. $700. We called a relative who got the same part for $165 and put it in. We asked for a written inspection report and HW said "we don't do that". You decide for yourself if you want these guys in your home.

James saves the day!…read more On a Sunday (of course), our water heater decided to spring a leak. A BAD leak, as water was gushing out of the safety drain pipe onto our driveway. We shut off the water and realized that we needed help. Quick. Especially since even after shutting off the water and releasing the pressure on a dedicated hot water line in a sink, the water still kept coming. Called James, left a message with his answering service. He called me back in about 20 minutes! Unfortunately, though, he didn't have a water heater on hand on this particular Sunday, but he promised to be at our house by 8 AM on Monday morning. At 7:50 AM on Monday, James is here. Thank goodness! Not a quick job, since he had to replace not only the water heater, but a seal on the shut-off valve was defective and a seal on the hot water line wasn't working, either. He took care of everything - and I mean everything - expertly and efficiently. Hot water back up and running! Now, here's the unbelievable part: James had quoted us a cost for replacement of this water heater back in October of last year. He told us that the quote was good for 90 days. Obviously the 90 days was long gone, but James honored that quote and charged us the exact amount that he said he would back in October - not a nickel more. Wow! Highly recommend this local business. James does superb work, and communication is excellent. And he's very reasonable on cost, too!
