[[HIGHLIGHT]]I do want to say everyone was really friendly and the mechanics do good work at Big E.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a good reputation and came recommended to me. That is why I am giving this place 2 stars and not 1. But this review is for the estimator Adam. I would warn others to just be careful if he is your estimator and here is why below. I brought my mini van in for an estimate. I scatched the side of the car across multiple panels including bumper, fender, right door, sliding door when I scraped a barrier. I showed him what I wanted to do. I waited 20 min with my son in the waiting area. He told me a price. I decided to go with them even though they weren't the cheapest estimate because they came recommended. I brought my car in and after a couple days Adam calls to tell me it is 3k more for Toyota to check it. I said fine. Then he tells me this is only for the bumper and right front. I said no, it was supposed to be for all the panels. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He then proceeds to blame me for not reading the estimate carefully even though I personally showed him what I wanted an estimate for[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and also did the same thing at 2 other auto body shops and the quotes they provided me with were for all the panels of the van. There was even 1 point during the estimate when I said oh is this so much because it is across multiple panels and he said yes. But on this phone call after work had started on my vehicle, he then tells me the work will be more than double now and I should convert it to an insurance claim since I originally wanted to pay out of pocket (like upwards of 20k). I do think he took advantage me of because I am a woman and a mom and this is the first time I brought a vehicle in for body work. I ultimately pulled the vehicle because I was not okay with this whole process and he refused to take any culpability, and he still made me pay 25 hours (of the original 30 hours in the estimate) of labor and literally gave me back pieces of my vehicle. I paid the administrative costs and fees and labor requested and they released the vehicle. He also refused to put the door back on the vehicle even though I paid for all that labor and as I was helping the tow guy (shoutout Kevin at Hubie's, highly recommend this tow company) load pieces of my vehicle into my van to transport, he then asked me to pay for the bumper since they couldn't return it. I refused. Of course if Adam had provided an accurate and honest estimate in the first place I would have chosen a different auto body shop because the costs would have been more than double other places and I would not have wasted all this time and money and stress over this terrible situation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So in conclusion, I didn't read Adam's estimate line by line because I trusted him to give me an accurate estimate of the repairs I wanted since that is literally what I came in for.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But he did not do that and blamed me for not reading the estimate he provided.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would be wary working with Adam especially if you are trying to pay out of pocket and you are a woman. read more

Our car was recently classified by the insurance as a total loss. I had my infinity g37 door repaired there. When i got it home i noticed you could see sanding marks through the paint. Also had my explorer in there to pains the corner of drivers door. It's an easy blend, they wanted to repaint the whole side of the car. Went elsewhere and they did the repair flawlessly for a fraction of the price they wanted to rape my insurance company for. The owners that took over are doing a great job and I really appreciate their friendliness, level of customer service and the quality of their work. They do things right. I've taken my Honda here twice in the last few years and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. Brad and everyone else at Big E is phenomenal to work with, kind, and professional. I don't think I'll ever take my car anywhere else for bodywork or detailing. Last year someone hit my car in a parking lot and the damage was pretty bad, definitely wasn't your average grocery store parking lot damage. Thankfully insurance covered it, Brad and the team were quick to reach out to my insurance and handle all the logistics. In fact, they were on top of my case more than my own insurance company. I brought my car in for repairs right before thanksgiving, because of the holiday and their current jobs the shop wasn't sure if they'd be able to get the repairs done before the holiday or if it would take longer. To my surprise they had the work done sooner than estimated, all before the holiday. There was a possibility that they would have had to replace the entire door had the damage been worse. With their talent, they were able to pop out the dent and refinish the paint. If you look ay the door now you might think I put on a whole new one. I've inspected their job thoroughly and you can't even tell where the original damage was. Their work is flawless. I have used Big E Auto Rebuild in the past and have been very happy with the work in the past. Since then it is under new owner. I had my car in for after an accident and I stressed that they take their time put it back together right since it was only about a year old. Unfortunately they just threw it back together and missed multiple details. The two side mirrors were different colors, new rivets and bolts were not painted, missing and mismatched push pins. molding not replaced or not secured. They admitted that the car was not checked over before returning to customer. It was already returned to them to fix the more obvious problems but I am still finding poor workmanship. I had my car damaged in a hit and run - the front fender on the drivers side was completely smashed in and I was unable to open the drivers side door. I found big E auto rebuild by looking up places online and dropped by for a quote - the folks there were all super nice and they made the process of getting it covered via insurance hassle free - just had to fill out some simple paperwork and they did the rest of work in communicating with my insurance. They were upfront about pricing and the costs I'd have to pay out of pocket - no hidden or surprise fees! I did have a bit of wait before I could get my car fixed - about 2 weeks - but they did such a nice job that I personally think it was worth the wait! I attached photos of the before and after for reference. From the beginning to the end, everyone was nice, welcoming, professional, and my car looks just as nice as it did before it was damaged. Something else to note: their property is gated, so I felt very safe leaving my car there overnight while it was being worked on. BIG E has been my go-to auto repair shop for the last 25 years, and they are the shop I recommend to anyone and everyone who asks me for a recommendation. This week, once again, they did not disappoint! In fact, they went above and beyond! What a statement to be able to make in this day and age when excellent work (and taking pride in ones' work), and excellent customer service all seem to be things of the recent past. My insurance company, State Farm, had really given me the run around - both literally and figuratively - and, by the time I crossed the threshold at BIG E my patience was gone, and I was really angry. The first person to greet me was Jen, who listened patiently and with a knowing smile. She answered all of my questions clearly and intelligently. I felt myself start​ to relax​. Kaeson then came out, introduced himself, and together we walked out to look at the damage on my car. He, too, was patient​ and answered all of my questions clearly. I felt myself relax even more. Yesterday, I picked my car up and Brad greeted me with a big smile​​ and even hopped into my SUV rental to park it across the street. Inside, Jen and Brad both talked to me about the repairs while we took care of the paperwork and payment. Brad and I then went out to take a look at my car. The bumper looked brand new - gorgeous work!! Brad also pointed out that he had been able to remove the tar that I had picked up driving through all of Seattle's construction zones, AND the interior had been vacuumed and the windows cleaned!!!!!
